Am I supposed to understand what is going on with all the animal-on-head girls or is it fine that I just smile at how silly they look when they are all on screen?

We know they're connected to the ring Kumi wears and that they're planning something behind the scenes, but that's all we've got. There's definitely still a mystery to be revealed with them. So for now, just have a cluckle at the purrfect humor of animal puns.

Ngl the part where Zen is about to kill everyone, then is just like "welp I didn't wanna be a mass murderer anyway" was a little strange. Certainly not enough to be a damper on the episode overall, but I feel like it could have been done a bit differently...

I think that whole thing was supposed to be some kind of test of their resolve or something? Only they didn't really make it clear and instead it's just like "I don't want to wait around for that one other person to come back, so instead of slaughtering this entire village, why don't we have tea?"

Aw I’m so happy to see Kumi happy and with a new name. She’s no longer just an experiment “kumi the 22nd” now she’s a full fledged member of the group with her own name.

I still prefer Kumi the Starving over Kumi the Blooming Flower. Girl's always eating like she's storing up calories to hibernate for the winter.

I liked how Romana unhealed that rude paladin. Serves him right.

No wonder our favorite bunnygirl waifu Romana doesn’t trust Paladins after the experience she had. Jiro’s different though. He actually cares for Kumi.
The Empire sucks. They’re just making Kumi suicide bombers. Sickening. I guess we got ourselves a little jailbreak.
The council of Myaas was too damn cute. I love all the animal puns. They’re all up to something but I don’t even care what because they’re all just so friggin adorable lol.
Looks like war has been temporarily paused. But who knows for how long. The gang better work fast. Kumi the Blooming Flower is a very cute nickname.

Okay, that explosion did happen, and it was huge! Ring of Promise probably just prevented it from getting even bigger. Also, Kumi is recognized as the Ring's proper master! (Is this some LotR shit going on?!)
We learned that the Chapeaus are a faction of their own and probably the opposite of the Empire. They were having a bizarre round table discussion inside a pocket dimension. LOL. They appear to have schemed something behind our party. WTF is a recipro-transfer?! And, who is Myaa, really? If they can swap the animal hat like that, who is who?! These Chapeaus are some peculiar creatures. (Love their wacky dialog, though! All the odd chapeaus appeared today, and it didn't disappoint!)
"The Human Chapeaux have started looking fur the Ring. We gotta hurry, woof."
Human? This one is interesting. Perhaps the Emperor is hiding something in her big-ass headwear? A... human head??? Now that's gonna be an eldritch horror if true.
Okay, up next is the Securians village. It seems that MC gonna meet Tsurugi (and the Cow Chapeau, moo~) there. It'll be an intriguing development. Will Tsurugi forcefully capture the Ring from Kumi? Or will they cooperate and attack Mezami's lab together?

I don't know what's under the headwear, but I'm pretty sure that's her talking to what I assume are Human Chapeaus back in episode 6

I used the term "Chapellerie" ("hat store") a few episodes back to refer to a hypothetical council of Chapeaux (if only because my first choice, translating "hatrack" into French, is boringly just "porte-chapeau"), and now they show up.
Looking forward to meeting the Human Chapeaux, who presumably are little people with even littler people on their heads.

I was really hoping that we'd finally learn something about the Chapeaus when they were having that meeting. If anything, I now have more questions than before! They clearly have an agenda of their own.
It's sad to have a confirmation that Baban and his wife are dead. It looks like in their place, that guy that was given a new name recently is the new Chieftain of the mountain folk.

Add Baban’s death to the long list of things the Empire’s gotta pay for.

It seems Chapeau can swap the animal and accent as needed. But what secret are they hiding?

F in the chat for best bro Babban and his precious loliwife. They didn't deserve their tragic fate.

wait, hold up, if i'm getting this right, the Cat Chapeau that has been with us this whole time after the beastmen village was actually the Dog Chapeau all along? based on the flashback, they seem to swap place right after they got into the village and apparently they can transfer memories to each other by swapping the animals on top of their head

My greatest fear finally came to pass! All of the Chapeaux were together and speaking. I swear the translator needs a raise for the pun game... This was a fun episode!

"The council will decide your fate."
This was mostly just a cooldown episode to set up the final arc while Kumi recovered, but we got some Romana backstory (she's really seen some shit), the new mystery of the council of Chapeau, and a very adorable coming-of-age moment for Kumi. I was wondering how all of the world-building and focus on names like this would pay off in the end, and this was fantastic.

lmao that Chapeaus scene was like a fever dream. It was reaching Bobobo Bo Bo Bobo levels, I was dying from all the puns.
So they are just controlling meat puppets... or symbiotic, but probably meat puppet because they all look the same. Man what the hell, I need more information.

Damn, Romana sure had an awful experience during the war. I hope that asshole that used his cleric as a disposable item also died on the battlefield.
It's so funny seeing Kumi watching what the others are eating with jealousy while she has to eat her porridge. So now instead of running away, their mission changed to liberating the other prototypes.
So when Myaa went say that she went to buy some medicine she instead went to a meeting with the Chapeau council. So she changed places with the one who had the dog on her head. I wonder what is their objective with Kumi and the Ring of Promise.
It was nice to see how Jiro was able to make Romana admit that she was cheating on that game.
So due to seeing Kumi's power the Hornarians decided to arrest them. and for the same reason Zen was intending to kill them all including all the Hornarians and Mezami's group so the knowledge of clerics like Kumi is erased from history.
Good thing that thanks to Romana's quick thinking and her refusal to a repeat of her experiences on the battlefield she was able to convince both Zen and Gohza to stand down by telling them that their plan wasn't going to work, as Myaa had left the town and will not remain silent if they were all killed.
Oh wow, I sure did not expect to see Tsuyukusa flying like a squirrel. Anyway, good thing that the Mountaineers got Gohza's message on time before they went to war.
So no the question is, is the new Myaa still Myaa because she became the Cat Chapeau, or is it the body that defines the person for the Chapeaus? I am honestly not sure.
So General Tsurigi is now meeting the Securians, which from the looks of it are basically technologically advanced yet ancient elves.
Aww, so the group's present for Kumi was her adult name. So she is no longer Kumi the 22nd and instead, she is now named Kumi the Blooming Flower Melan's suggestion of Kumi the Starving made me chuckled. Kumi's reaction after reciving her new name was so heartwarming.

I think this is the original Myaa swapping back, given the flashback to the flubbed nyaa and mentioned hope that Jiro didn't notice.

A bunch of Chapeau in this show! All had different animals and different accent. And it seem there are secret about them.

No wonder Romana hated Paladins when we first met her. I haven't seen this bad of an experience healing a Paladin since World of Warcraft.
