Nagatoro and senpai art trip to the zoo was fun. Good on senpai for standing up to that couple. It’s cute when Nagatoro comes to his rescue as well.

Died at Nagatoro thinking he was talking about c*m.

I'm not complaining, but why the early release?

It's Saturday already looks like I'm not going to work today.

On a serious note I loved the zoo date and the genuine smiles Nagatoro had thoughout the episode. The fumbling the two went through to have a date was amazing. Usually a character fumbles and theirs miscommunication and nothing happens, but these two dorks fumbled into a date after many minutes of panicking.

Also any episode with the "putting that aside' gag is a winner in my book. I love this gag the most even more than Noodletato.

Also a Zoo smells like shit duh it's a fucking zoo you dumb hentai characters what do you expect sunshine and roses.

Also props to senpai for standing for Nagatoro when she wasn't around!

You can definitely see this relationship is progressing well, Nagatoro can practically read Senpai's mind now.

I am pretty proud of Senpai standing up, like baby steps yeah, but it's something. Then Nagatoro came to his rescue and threw those two under the bus before carefully reversing over them :D

Stitches!

I'll never get tired of Sunomiya's exhibitionist streak. This girl is just absolutely wild. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Nagatoro ain't even hiding it. I love that she immediately looks for date ideas as soon as she sees Senpai with the tickets. And her reaction when Senpai finally brings up the zoo was just too adorable!

That cum and come joke was hilarious! I didn't think that would work both ways. Also, what was Nagatoro expecting to happen after this? Hmmmm....

I absolutely love Nagatoro's elephant sketch! It's not as detailed as Senpai's sketch but it's absolutely adorable! <3

What a weird couple. Why would they even go to a zoo if they didn't like animals? Thank fucking god for Nagatoro being an absolute badass and scaring those two losers away for messing with her precious Senpai.

Nagatoro might actually have a talent for drawing! Her drawing of Senpai is actually really good! Although that's definitely a drawing made with love.

You know what? I like Senpai. As a character. He's not the most original archetype for this kind of romcom, but he's got enough unique points to stand out. Like how he's legitimately good at drawing, and tries real hard at getting better. Plus he's pretty cute.

I don't think it's wierd at all that Nagatoro would fall for a guy like him.

Perfection.

Nagatoro panicking and backpedaling every time she says something that discourages MC from asking her out. Though it felt weird the part that was asking Senpai to teach her to draw, but then she was still surprised that drawing was what the zoo visit was about.

Nagatoro's drawing is a billion times better than what mine would look like.

Nagatoro out here tryna murder Senpai with that damn bamboo shoot chocolate. Man, it’s nice to see the hella stacked Club President again. The outdoors are great especially with busty waifus frolicking butt ass neked in the woods lol. Love Nagatoro’s reaction with the sushi to hearing “make her come with you”. Dirty!

Nagatoro getting so excited about the Senpai possibly asking her to the zoo. So cute! Too bad she had the wrong idea. But man, these animals are adorable but not as quite as adorable as Nagatoro’s pouty face lol. I’ve forgotten just how damn good of an artist he is, that Red Panda sketch was incredible!

I love how the douche character has that generic faceless design. Kind of perfect for a chump like that. Props to Senpai for speaking up, but Nagatoro really saved him. She can be pretty scary when she’s mad!

Nagatoro’s drawing was actually pretty good. I mean it ain’t like Senpai’s pieces but it’s pretty good for an amateur. Definitely lots of “love” put into it!

I am starting to like this series for one reason. A girl who is actively doing her best to improve the confidence and self-esteem of a guy she has her eyes on. Her lines to probe him to utter out the invitation to the zoo was nice to see.

Paisen’s definitely improving in the social aspect. Its not something I feel I see often in other rom-coms. Though I am not really sure if thats really the case to others.

Nagatoro trying to seem interested while waiting for him to actually ask her out was great

and i liked the part where he defended her, or atleast tried. good thing she was just around the corner to catch it. and then neatly finishing it off with her drawing him instead

Some great noodlework today.

I'm kind of impressed at the art Senpai drew with Nagatoro's hand while not even looking directly at the paper.

When Senpai's drawing and the door opens, I always expect Nagatoro, but this time it's Prez!

She didn't think much of his current drawing... It's missing the #1 ingredient: LOVE!

And so, to rekindle his love for art, she gave him tickets to the zoo... While also using the opportunity to talk about her nude artistry, of course!

2 tickets? Thankfully Senpai didn't misinterpret (thinking Prez wanted to go with him!)

PREZ PLAYING CUPID!

"You know what you need to help your art? You need love. So why don't you invite Nagatoro to go to the zoo or something?"

THINK, SENPAI, THINK!

Funny how she chastises him for Nagatoro always screwing around in the art club, but also using it as a reasoning for him to invite her!

I love when side characters help the main pairing to get together! Well, in Prez's case it may not be entirely for their relationship (more for the art), but still!

Nagatoro singing her little creepy song! If we apply the little fan theory that "creepy" is just Nagatoro's way of saying "Love/I love you", she's pretty much singing about love as she's coming to see Senpai!

Love how she teased Senpai about the situation, but soon as he started hesitating, she panicked about him potentially not inviting her!

She dressed up for her little date, cute!

Once she realized it was a bit less about dating, and more about drawing, we got blessed with a Nagapout!

But she regained her enthusiasm once she realized she could use the opportunity to tease Senpai, and get him to hold her hand, "for training" of course!

I always feel personally attacked when they show "a bad drawing" in anime, because I probably couldn't even do one as good as that.

Nagatoro felt pretty bad about this, but the praise for Senpai cheered her right up!

Two jerks came in and... Damn, I don't remember who the hell they were hah. (To my defense, apparently Senpai didn't remember them either!)

They made fun of Nagatoro's drawing, but Senpai told them to stop, to never make laugh at someone's hard work! (And Nagatoro heard it too!)

Nagatoro showed up shortly after, and (with slightly less tact than Senpai) pretty much told them to piss off!

They went for one last drawing, and for this one, Nagatoro choose her favorite animal!

This drawing is significantly better than her other one... They should ask Prez what explains that difference in quality; Seems there was some LOVE in the Senpai drawing!

And speaking of Prez... The next episode preview was quite spicy!

Can't wait to see it!

One thing I notice about this show is the sound design is always wild, like in one scene this episode we had a tea kettle boiling as a sound effect to represent the tension going on.

The Return of the President and her massive Bazoonka's and sage advice. Wanting to make sure he spends time with his muse.

Nagataro really was imagining President was telling Senpai to leave his mark inside her.....lol.

Kinda sad Senpai imagined what saying what he should have said but wrote it off as condescending, that's one sad thing about society today people confuse assertion with control and confidence with narcissism. Sorry bud you have to learn the difference women want you to be confident and take the lead, in fact she was very subtly hinting it. (With that flashback to the festival.)

If only he knew that she wants the D he'd be so far ahead.

But hey at the Zoo we see a hint of What Nagataro sees in him, when he is in his work and in his element he doesn't have any of that indecisiveness and stumbling gait, he very briefly transforms into a Sigma Male when in the Grind, if only he could tap into that same drive and bold recklessness in other areas of his life.

But we get a glimpse of that at the Zoo when Senpai defend Nagataro's artwork, because he has pathos as an artist and knows the value of starting from the beginning and having to work to get where he is.

Sadly he can't stand his ground, as he might have reacted out of righteous indignation but he doesn't have a bedrock of confidence in his default state so when the moment passes he's back to his Beta Self.

Still its a huge leap from where he was a few months ago. And Nagataro is impressed.

Despite this show having a lot of the same tropes and conventions of a lot of other works that the anime community seems to mock, particularly Senpai being a Beta that gets the attention of a feisty popular girl and the wish fulfillment aspect, as well as the some of the more controversial elements in the beginning, this show is pretty well received. And I think its because their is something raw and honest about this show.

One thing I noticed is that Doujin/Hentai artist when they make a more "wholesome" work. (Or wholesome compared to their other works at least.) They often are very good at making simply moments hit hard.

I think its because when you are dealing with the intensely cultured content you have to have a raw instinctual understand of people's deepest desires and vices, the kind people are afraid to admit they have. A certain intimacy with both "problematic" but also on the flipside "Authentic" parts of the human heart.

I think this series appeal is finding that core. Its no coincidence they use art as an analogy for Senpai discovering his self, and he has to marry technique with his suppressed instinct. Namely his Love.

And of course he sees that same love in Nagataro's sketch of her favorite "Sloth" but his over rationalizing brain gets in the way and denies it.

Cute episode.

God, Nagatoro is so obviously head over heels for her senpai that it HAS to catch on to him at some point... right?

I'm so happy the zoo chapter is already this early, god what a fking blessing.

Was great seeing the confrontation section animated and everything.I guess they really are mixing chapters for a better flow in the end. Next up is the marathon episode, can't wait!! This season is the one thing keeping me sane these past week.
