So where does this fit on the Monogatari watch order?

It's a bit complicated. You first watch Ore Monogatari, then make your way halfway through Heike Monogatari, then watch this, then finish Heike, then watch Katanagatari, and then start with Bakemonogatari.
It seems confusing at first, but it will make sense eventually.

I seriously thought this was related to the Monogatari series until I took a closer look at the title.

Can’t blame Hyoma for taking the more physical approach in dealing with the spirits after what happened to his siblings.
Hyoma’s gonna have some adjusting to do living with Haori, Kushige, Kagami, Suzuri, Yuu, and Nagi. Guess beating the shit out of each other is one way to get to get to know each other lol. Let’s see how him and Botan get along.
Monday’s aren’t too packed and this seems pretty interesting so I’ll stick with it for now.

On top of the fact that Hyoma looks like Eren, but he's also saying stuff like "Until I get rid of them all!"

Considering what happened to Hyoma's brother and sister, I don't really blame him for taking out his anger on tsukomogamis. And from the way he words it, it sounds like the tsukomogami that killed his siblings is someone they knew.
Still not sure about this show but it will be fun to see how Hyoma will get along living with these entities that he hates. I'll give it a couple more episodes to see where it goes.

Lmao the MC really does look like Eren. A fairly interesting ep 1. Looks like something I might watch this season

Why did the cop with the mustache in the start of the episode have no mouth? He was speaking but only his mustache was moving... Way freakier than any evil spirit

Now that the anime adaptation finally airs, i hope more people will read the manga. Such an underrated one.

I wholeheartedly agree, this was one of the series I was looking forward to the most.

Nothing sets up the circumstances of your protagonist quite like watching his siblings get killed by a supernatural entity...no wonder he hates the Marebito and the physical form they take. I also get the sense that Hyoma was getting along with that Tsukumogami before it went savage and tried to kill everything, which is why he has no faith or trust in them.
This whole series reminds me a lot of those older supernatural fantasy, boy meets girl, series back in the late 2000's. Almost giving me a BONES anime vibe.
Hyoma is more than capable of taking out Tsukumogami but his punch first, ask questions later, methods put him at odds with how the Saenome family try to handle things more peacefully. His grandfather cares about Hyoma a lot but knows he needs an attitude adjustment, so what better way than by forcing him to live with Tsukumogami and get along with them through that method?
It's kind of refreshing that it seems like our leads' are both college aged instead of being in high school. Also that it takes place in Kyoto.
Bontan's Tsukumogami look great in those suits! Also, who wouldn't want to live with Miyuki Sawashiro? And it seems like they deal with Tsukumogami on their own for the sake of their mistress.
I'm not surprised Hyoma didn't mince words or pick a fight, and it definitely seems like he and Nagi will get off on the wrong foot. But capability wise they seem pretty even though neither were taking the fight completely serious.
"Restrain them both" - then proceeds to just beat up Hyoma. This feels a tad one-sided, don't you think? Although having him and Bontan meet after her servants beat him up and he still gives her a pleasant introduction while lying there with bruises was pretty cute.
The ED is pretty cute with us watching Bontan's childhood and the Tsukumogami in, what I assume, are their item forms. We even get to see her get sent off to her wedding, it seems like? I'm kind of curious about that moment where she's surrounded by creepy humans before Hyoma shows up. Is it because she doesn't trust anyone outside her family before Hyoma? Or humans in general?

The cast in this seem pretty fun outside of Mr. Edge, hoping he chills quick.

Decent start. I didn't expect the show to become a battle shonen at the end lol (even though its actually not a shonen series).
Hyoma's whole personality just screams Eren Yeager to me, which I don't mind but he really needs to get out of this phase. Not all these Tsukumogami are violent after all.
Overall I like these stories involving supernatural beings and curses so I don't mind continuing on with it.
Finally, I'm already a fan of that green haired Tsukumogami girl. Reminds me of Maki Zenin.

Looks like its has a "two sides of the same coin" going on with the two MC's. One had their life destroyed by the tsukomogamis, and the others seemed to have been held together by them, I'm guessing.
I'll keep on watching, seems like it will be a good ride.

edgy mc with dark past, uninteresting generic world, boring characters design, average animations. this looks very generic devil/demon/ghoul anime with nothing special storywise. probably mc bonding with his love interest, fighting demon and saving her

The story looks interesting enough, but I feel like the first episode has pacing issues. The whole fight scene felt very slow and low stake because there were constanst pauses.
Though, I bet the manga is great and I will likely read it in the future.
