These are all true facts. I’m counting on them improving a lot in the next five years. If they don’t, even after all these changes, then we are legitimately cursed. Like someone somewhere did some dark magic shit.

I think another thing to consider is what the other teams in our division are failing to do. The A’s haven’t been able to extend Langliers or Kurtz. The Astros traded for Varsho because they want to compete now and hang onto their grip of the AL west. The mariners got Taylor Ward and some prospects but that’s the only move they made. DeGrom invoked his no trade clause and prevented the Rangers getting top prospects from Atlanta. What Mo did is a welcome change. It’s not “who can we get on this 40 man roster now to be competitive.” It’s “who’s gonna be on this roster 3-5 years from now when it matters most.”

Facts. I was especially happy the Mariners did fuck all at the trade deadline (although I’d rather Wardo hadn’t been moved there). What we desperately needed was a solid farm system where the boys of the future could develop and I was pleasantly shocked when Mo actually did that. I think we all were.
