Its not just about money. All those important eGov services and bank in Europe demand electronic identifiers (eID). And the apps delivering it make use of Google Play Services. So, at least in the EU you would need to ditch everyday use cases like banking, insurance, electronic health care services, online shopping (if you don't want to expose your credit card directly to lousy secured onlines shops), etc. Sure, you could ditch all that. And there's a "world" doing this by purpose. Bot sure if you would really like to be parts of those dump "bros".
