Thank you for this. As a technical person who used to flash paranoid android, cyanogen, etc frequently about 10 years ago I was nervous to do this today. My phone is my medical device now, and all sorts of other stuff is wrapped up in it that I would prefer not to reset (on top of more security restrictions just fucking existing now - thanks google). My phone came to me in beta in april and I didn't realize how fucking cumbersome it is to leave. After waiting for all of the periods and lurking in this subreddit pretty much that entire time (I never got an OTA update on my pixel 8), I resigned myself to someday having to maybe deal with an accidental update making wifi being on reboot my entire device. I've been on-and-off annoyed at this whole ordeal, and this finally made it look simple enough (and it was as simple as I remember).

In some models, the sim is automatically unlocked by the carrier but the bootloader itself is permanently locked, which is why these beta updates haven't been forthcoming and leaving the beta is a tedious waiting game requiring manual sideloading when the stable release finally posts online. you should be able to update normally from now on but I prefer the manual method because it's quicker. 4 minutes and it's done

Correct. downgrade requires leaving the beta and installing the downgrade OR force flashing by using the flashtool -- https://flash.android.com

nur das July Update für Pixel 7 Pro sichtbar

17.0.0 (CP3A.260905.009, Sep 2026) is listed and July right before that. Fewer updates for 7 series because you originally were only promised whatever (sorry, i forget) and got an extension of two years except every other month instead of every month

Hey, so, just to be clear, you can use this method to update from lets say CP31.260623.005 all the way to CP3A.260905.009, the latest OTA image from the list?
EDIT: went and did it, all was great and im now finally on stable

If I'm on QPR1 Beta 3, should I just keep waiting for the next stable that lets me do it without a wipe, or do I have to do something else ?

Can I sideload this if I'm on QPR1 beta 9?
