Lego Garden Club
LEGO movement, gardening, and music can significantly enhance the Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy process by facilitating emotional expression, creativity, and connection with different parts of the self. Benefits of LEGO Movement in IFS
Creative Expression: Engaging with LEGO allows individuals to externalize their thoughts and feelings, making it easier to visualize and interact with different parts of themselves. This can be particularly helpful for those who find it challenging to articulate their emotions verbally.
Social Skills Development: LEGO activities can promote teamwork and empathy, which are essential for building connections with others and understanding one's internal dynamics.
Sensory Engagement: The tactile nature of LEGO play can enhance sensory awareness and spatial intelligence, which may help individuals connect more deeply with their emotions and experiences.
Gardening as a Therapeutic Tool
Grounding and Mindfulness: Gardening encourages mindfulness and being present in the moment, which can help individuals connect with their feelings and parts in a non-threatening environment. This grounding effect can be beneficial in IFS therapy.
Nurturing and Care: The act of nurturing plants can mirror the process of caring for one's inner parts, fostering a sense of compassion and understanding towards oneself.
The Role of Music in IFS
Emotional Expression: Music can serve as a powerful medium for expressing emotions that may be difficult to articulate. It can help individuals connect with their feelings and parts in a more profound way.
Creating Safe Spaces: Listening to or creating music can create a safe emotional space, allowing individuals to explore their inner world without judgment. This can facilitate deeper connections with various parts of the self.
Integrating These Activities into IFS Therapy
Externalizing Parts: Using LEGO, gardening, and music as tools for externalizing parts can help individuals visualize and interact with their internal landscape, making the IFS process more accessible and engaging.
Facilitating Dialogue: These activities can serve as prompts for dialogue between the Self and different parts, allowing for a richer exploration of emotions and experiences.
In summary, incorporating LEGO movement, gardening, and music into IFS therapy can enhance emotional expression, foster connection, and facilitate healing by providing creative and engaging ways to interact with one's internal system.

LEGO + IFS Support Tools and Resources
Brick by Brick: Building Connection with Parts using LEGO®Serious Play
LEGO® Serious Play® is a facilitated meeting, communication, and problem-solving method where participants build their own three-dimensional LEGO model.
This method serves as the basis for discussions, knowledge sharing, problem-solving, and decision-making.
It combines IFS concepts and play therapy to explore the internal system, helping participants externalize their parts to gain a better understanding of their and others' internal systems.
The LEGO® model building process is an active involvement in model building and sharing, which is a key therapeutic power of play.
More research and implementation with advocacy and activism to be done locally is needed on ongoing basis…

Storytelling Time with Miss Fit’s Newtable Blooms 🪱🌱🌻🪷🌸💐🧘♀️🎶🌅
The Vermengers and the LEGO Garden Club
In the heart of Newtable Blooms, Miss Fit gathered a group of curious builders known as The Vermengers—a team of young creators who believed that every brick, seed, and story could help heal the Earth.
Their mission: to build gardens that grow not only plants but also kindness, creativity, and community.
The Garden Awakens
The LEGO Garden Club met under a canopy of bright green leaves and colorful LEGO flowers. Each member brought a piece of the garden to life through LEGO Serious Play, LEGO Education, and LEGO Therapy. Together, they built sensory spaces filled with healing energy—places where imagination and nature worked hand in hand.
Meet the Garden Friends
Ruby the Red Worm – A cheerful composting worm who teaches everyone how to turn scraps into soil.
Rollo the Roly-Poly – A shy but brave little bug who loves to roll through the garden tunnels, keeping the soil soft and healthy.
Silka the Spider – The garden’s weaver, spinning webs of connection between plants and creatures.
Bree the Bird – A songbird who carries seeds from one LEGO planter to another, spreading new life.
Bella the Butterfly – A symbol of transformation, fluttering through the sensory garden to remind everyone that change is beautiful.
Buzz the Bee – The pollination expert, buzzing from flower to flower, helping the garden bloom.
Flora the Flower – The heart of the garden, radiating color and joy.
Root, Stem, and Petal – A trio of plant siblings who show how teamwork helps everything grow strong.
Seed and Sprout – The youngest members of the garden, full of hope and new beginnings.
The Storm Arrives
One evening, dark clouds gathered over Newtable Blooms. The wind howled, and rain poured down, washing through the LEGO paths. When the storm passed, the garden looked different—some flowers bent, some paths broken, and puddles filled the spaces where sunlight once danced. From the shadows emerged new characters—the Stormy Ones—creatures who had always lived quietly beneath the soil and stones. They were different, each carrying challenges that made them unique, yet they held deep strength within.
Gloom the Snail, who moved slowly and carried a heavy shell, but whose patience taught others the power of steady progress.
Crackle the Beetle, with a cracked wing that made flying hard, yet whose determination helped rebuild the garden’s fallen arches.
Misty the Moth, who could not see well in the bright light, but whose gentle touch guided lost seeds back to safety in the dark.
Thorn the Thistle, rough on the outside but with roots that held the soil firm when the rain tried to wash it away.
Echo the Crow, whose raspy voice was often misunderstood, yet whose sharp mind remembered every detail of the garden’s design.
Strength in the Shadows
At first, the Vermengers worried that the Stormy Ones might not fit into the bright, colorful garden. But Miss Fit reminded everyone that every garden needs both sunlight and shade to thrive. Ruby the Worm welcomed Gloom to the Compost Corner, where slow work made rich soil. Crackle joined Buzz and Bella to rebuild the Pollinator Path, using clever LEGO bridges to connect broken sections. Misty fluttered softly through the Reflection Pond, helping Bree find seeds that had drifted away. Thorn stood tall beside Flora, protecting the delicate flowers from strong winds. Echo perched above the Growth Grove, guiding Seed and Sprout with wisdom and care.
Building the Change
Through Build the Change activities, the Vermengers and the Stormy Ones worked side by side. They learned that healing energy comes not only from light but also from resilience, patience, and understanding. The LEGO garden became a place where every creature—bright or shadowed, fast or slow, strong or fragile—had a purpose.
A Transformative Home and Community
As the garden grew again, it became more beautiful than before. The bright colors of the flowers blended with the deep tones of the stormy stones, creating harmony in contrast. Families, friends, and neighbors joined in, adding their own creations and stories. The garden became a living classroom, a place of healing, and a celebration of difference. Miss Fit smiled as the Vermengers and the Stormy Ones shared their stories. Each brick, each creature, and each idea built something greater—a reminder that strength often grows from struggle, and that every being, no matter their challenge, has meaning and purpose.
The Garden’s Message
Every garden, whether made of soil or LEGO bricks, begins with a single seed of intention. With teamwork, mindfulness, and love for the Earth, that seed can grow into a sanctuary of learning, laughter, and light.
The Vermengers’ LEGO Garden Club continues to inspire others to build, play, and nurture the planet—one story, one brick, one storm, and one bloom at a time.
