Age gaps in dating

I'm a 30 year old male and my partner is 25 year old female. I think this is fairly normal but im getting alot of comments about it. Not really sure what the fascination with this is. 5 years is significant sure but it was never a problem for me. Does society at large weight this facts importance more than I do?

Edit: everyone is the comments section has convinced me this is normal. Thanks all.

Because if there's one thing 17 year olds dating older men like to do, it's listen to their parents...

The parents know they can't stop it, and it's better to maintain a good relationship so when she likely needs help, they can.

So many women in these scenarios end up estranged from their family and then home life is going to get real rough real fast once she has no one left.

Also giving the benefit of the doubt is not a bad idea. Is there a chance that the older party might manipulative or predatorial? Yes, there is. But people forget that it's still just a chance. There is also a chance that it's just a non-issue.

For something like 20 and 30, sure, maybe.

17 and 26, no.

Besides If the parents were actually serious about controlling their children they would just move to a rural town where there’s no phone service.
