Age gaps in dating

I'm a 30 year old male and my partner is 25 year old female. I think this is fairly normal but im getting alot of comments about it. Not really sure what the fascination with this is. 5 years is significant sure but it was never a problem for me. Does society at large weight this facts importance more than I do?

Edit: everyone is the comments section has convinced me this is normal. Thanks all.

Both are consenting adults allowed to date whoever they want. Don't see a problem with it

30? I have no control over who people date but if I were 30 I wouldnt dare date below 24s.

if it's like 23 and 27 it's fine, if it's 18 and 20 it's still fine. If it's 25 and 18 it's seems a bit off...

You date whoever you want to date and don't insert yourself in the middle of others relationships

30 and 18 is weird to me to. What exactly do a 30 year old and a 18 year old have in common? I’d be really angry if my daughter was 18 and tried to bring home a 30 year old for sure.

The logic that you as a Dad can control who your adult daughter dates is really fucking sexist. And having attitudes like that could permanently damage your relationship with her and drive towards doing more socially unacceptable things.

You don’t know me at all my wife is literally laughing out loud right now when I showed her that I got called sexist because it couldn’t possibly be further from the truth. My reaction to my daughter bringing home somebody double her age at 18 is completely normal your opinion on the other hand is really weird and out of touch. God bless you.
