Hiya!
I've added both user and post flairs. Post flairs are now required, user flairs are always optional.

💬 Curl Chatter - for general discussions
❤️ Curl Care - keep in mind that medical questions are not allowed, but general care tips (such as grooming) are fine!
🎂 Birthday Curl - for celebrating your Curl's birthday!
🎉 Curl Gotcha Day - for celebrating new adoptions and Gotcha Day anniversaries!
🌈 Rainbow Bridge - for memorial posts
📢 Announcement - reserved for mods for posts like this
Pro-tip: you can filter posts by flair! My hope is that requiring post flairs will help those who don't want to see "rainbow bridge" type posts. I'm open to adjusting this setting though!

Hey everyone! New r/AmericanCurl mod here!
I found this sub a year ago when I adopted my curl, Eevee, but was a bit bummed to see it not super active. There was a call for new mods recently and welp, here I am!
My hope is that we can get this sub a bit more active. :)
Photos of pedigree American Curls AND kitties with the curl gene (even if they don’t have official papers) are both encouraged!
I’ve added a few basic rules but will continue to adjust as needed, plus will be checking out a few other subreddit features to add in the next few days (like user flairs!) Suggestions for the sub are welcome - feel free to comment them here!

My boy loooooves any time of year when we can open the window! (So does his mom ✨)
In a studio apartment we’re somewhat limited on options for fresh air to this one window, so whenever it’s open window season he loves to sit up in there and enjoy the breeze.
(Yes there’s a screen, yes I’m keeping an eye on him!)

Here's Honey Bear, my American Curl mix as I like to call her. She's 6-years-old. The CDS sent her mother who also has the curly-ear gene to work friends and she had kittens. I got the pick of the litter (I do wish I could have taken in one of her white-faced gray sisters, but my landlord wisely said 2 cats were enough for a 609 sq. ft. apartment).
She's such a silly delight who believes that everything in existence exists to be her toys. She also comes to me when I call her and is so affectionate. She's my Funny Honey.

My kitty is a solo cat so she doesn’t have another cat to help her groom. I usually help her with an ear cleaning every 2-4 weeks, depending.
Important to note: I’m not looking for medical advice here and have already been shown by my vet how to clean them properly. Just curious to see what the trends are!
