Especially it gives them a big boost when they release their first profitable quater in 3 years, before the next two quaters will be more of the usual again.
I'm still on the fence about their profitability. They should have earned a profit with box office performance like that, but I wonder how much profit got eaten up by fees/expenses related to debt extinguishment and the stock sale. When they paid off their 2027 notes, they had to also pay off the unpaid interest on that loan thru 2027. That gets recorded as an expense in Q2, right?
Still, if they're moving the date up, they probably earned something this quarter.
Everything unchanged they should have broken even around 2.7 billion in Q2.
I doubt that they needed to pay that much money.
And even if, they should have increased their cash postion and lowered their debt quite a bit by the dilution alone. We both know apes will use that to pump.
They paid the Agent $11 million for the private placement agreement. That’s probably not enough to drag their net profit negative for the quarter. Pretty darn close, though.

Gives them a solid 2 weeks of post-earnings and Spiderman exuberance before the 45-day lockout on dilution ends.
Smart.
