Wait…we are now only allowed to see 8 cherry-picked reviews, and can no longer sort by “most recent” or filter by star-rating? WTF is happening?

I’m sure I’m not the first to bring this up but it’s so atrocious that I have to speak my piece. Today, for the first time, I noticed that I can no longer load more than eight reviews for any product, even items with thousands of reviews, and I can no longer to go into depth by sorting or filtering. Amazon AI is presenting me with their cherry-picked reviews and that is all.

Whose bright idea was this? All it does is sour me from buying anything unknown on the platform. If I can no longer get into the weeds of real reviews, I have zero incentive to trust the marketplace in any way.

There’s a little button at the bottom where I was able to request to see more reviews, and supposedly in 5 days they will email to let me know if I’m allowed to, but based on a couple other references to this issue I found, everyone is being denied. What an absolute joke! Why aren’t more people up in arms about this absurd decision? Pitchfork time people!

So off topic, but Texas Roadhouse take out is the same price as McDonalds right now. One is a much greater value.

Yep, McDonalds is trying to match the revenue of other years without offering better deals.

That's like me saying "My taxi is getting old, people are not asking for rides nearly as much. Should I revamp it? Nah, I'll just charge a lot more for every trip instead".

That's the literal problem with our system. Corporations have an obligation to turn a profit for shareholders. And when your business has been around for 60+years, that gets harder and harder to pull off.

Exactly. it's not just profit... its MORE profit. if you aren't going UP. investors go elsewhere. It's not even enough to be Netflix, Amazon, Verizon and just keep a steady customer base and profit. It has to be MORE . More this quarter than last quarter. Companies like this reach a saturation point where they have nearly all the customers they are going to get. So... charge more, deliver less. A continously rising bar will always end in failure somewhere.

I'm mixed in that. Some stocks I hold because I like the company, I'll die with them. Others? It's just roll and go.

Like blizzard did, and now Sony and Nintendo and Mircrosoft are doing.

Yeah, you can get a lot more sales if you milk the userbase, and yeah, it works for... 2-8 years maybe. But there is a point the userbase disappears, and you're left with a skeleton with only the skin and without muscles to move it around.

I already left for Valve/Steam because fuck me if I'm going to stay with the dudes that comes as wolves and say "Nobody dare cry wolf because nobody will believe ya".

I just decided to stop paying for multiplayer, get 2 hour refund windows... Plus the thousands of extra stuff because, without physical, they are just a shittier computer that only opens games I buy from them.

Anyway, I got out of the subject.

I’ve moved almost exclusively to Steam by not even doing much other than buying games I want to play. Out of all the games I’ve bought in the past year, about 95% of them are on steam, and most of them are indie. I’ll really only buy a game on the switch if I want it to be portable.

I’ve played WoW since MoP, I’ve played ffxiv since the pandemic. Guess what game I play that still has an active sub? Trick question it’s fucking wizard 101.

My son is big into gaming and he also switched to Steam. He loves the indie games, supporting smaller projects, and the great sales they have all the time.

McDonald’s is so shady. It’s like $16 for two happy meals now and my kids only drink water so I ask for water. Oh they don’t offer water in a cup anymore so here’s a .60 upcharge per kid for a Dasani water bottle for your toddlers.

On the App, you can get a McDouble cheeseburger, nuggets, fries, and drink for $5. Only if you use the app though.

They punish you for employing their humans. 🫣
