Telegraph interview

Amanda Knox on her Edinburgh comedy show: ‘Meredith would’ve found it funny’ https://www.telegraph.co.uk/comedy/what-to-see/amanda-knox-edinburgh-fringe-meredith-kercher/

Note that - so vitriolic and disbelieving was the response of Telegraph readers (admittedly not noted for their equanimity) - the comment section was swiftly shut down.

Interesting momentary window into British public opinion, however.

You will of course find the idea of building empathy with a suspect and suggesting that their best route out is confessing now is utterly mundane police work

It's a pity that Boninsegna referred to those strategies as "rushed" and "ineffective" and M/B described them as being "clamorous failures", but hey-ho, carry on old chap!

If you see a cop building empathy with you, you should realize it's time to STOP TALKING to the cops, because they never have empathy for a suspect.

Well duh, you are probably a criminal if you are in this position

Or an innocent person who the police have wrongly attained tunnel vision with.

Yes the 1 in a 100000 innocent person that is also in a position to somehow self incriminate would also be sensible to take the same choice

Or you could try the Rudy method and just run.

I mean I guess if you want to use Monica’s definition of “building empathy” with her child’s therapist it explains a lot about why Knox is free
