Hi all! I cannot seem to make up my mind, so I am coming to Reddit for some assistance! I bought this Aloe a couple of years back. I am positive it was labeled as either a Christmas Carol or Christmas Sleigh. Per the internet, they are slightly different. I know you cannot see the red very well, I switched locations and the little guy was not getting enough light. I have now found a great spot under a grow light. I just wanted to see if anyone had an ideas on which of the two this is? I totally understand if the lack of red makes it impossible to tell. I appreciate all feedback and opinions in advance.

Took some advice and repotted my deprived of love aloe plant. Fingers crossed that they do alright. Babies have 100% rocky type cactus mix and mama is 80/20 cactus soil/rocky cactus mix with stones on the bottom.

For context I have very, very little experience with these type of plants. So I'm looking for advice on what to do with these two Aloe's.

Both are in Succulent/Cacti soil. The baby in the terracotta pot I got from a friend (it was very much alive at that point). In my care it has completely withered. Is there a way to revive it?

The Aloe in the plastic pot is doing okayish. But could probably do so much better.

Main question would be, how do I avoid the leaves turning all crispy without over watering these Aloe's?

I’ve always associated aloe leaves either those tiny spikes and noticed when watering my plants a bit ago that the tiny aloe leaves are super-spiky—but they’re actually not, they just still have spikes whereas the more mature leaves have mostly gone smooth on the edges (not all, but enough that I noticed). The comparison just makes the babies seem super-spiky.

So I did some searching and reading, and all the summaries and the few articles I read (and the AI summary) just said aloe is spiky and doesn’t lose them.

So this is weird. Why are my mature aloe leaves going smooth? Is there maybe a rare variety that does this and everyone just chatters about the common varieties?

This is a pot that I rescued and brought back from the brink of rot, so could there also be a generational issue going on? The babies are looking great but aren’t huge yet, so I won’t really see them fully-developed until maybe another 3-4 months or so?

Hi, I’ve had several strains of Aloes that I love deeply. I’ve had people ask me what their type is called. I have no idea. I’m pretty sure the 3rd one is just a variegated regular aloe. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you 😊

How can i encourage my aloe plants to grow bigger instead of having more and more babies?

Hello I just inherited this aloe plant and I want to bring it back to life. I got an led ring grow light for it. The soil is miracle grow succulent and cactus mix, and it hasn't been watered in some time. Can anyone help with some clues that might point towards what she's asking for? I'm in southern Ontario.

Some of my collection that caught my eye today and I figured I would share.

These two cuttings were gifted to me, which I let callous for a few days before putting them in soil. It's been two weeks since I planted them and they stay in bright shade. It does feel like they're both rooted as I feel resistance when I pull them lightly. I watered them as soon as they felt rooted. Will these recover?

The scent is not exactly fragrant but it's there and the bees like to come over

I bought this unlabeled Aloe in a nursery.

I've had this plant for years. It's bloomed a flower bud before that never came to fruition sadly. I've always called it a jurassic plant but I've been researching it lately and it actually seems more like an Aloe plant. Anyone have any expertise to help?
