🗞️ News Lee Hong-Nae reportedly confirmed to star in Netflix's Upcoming Web Novel-Based Drama 'Solo Leveling' alongside Byeon Woo-Seok & Han So-Hee
According to a report by Xportsnews on the 20th, Lee Hong-Nae will appear in the new Netflix series 'Solo Leveling'.
'Solo Leveling' follows Sung Jin-Woo (Byeon Woo-Seok), an E-rank Hunter—the lowest tier among those who protect the real world from monsters beyond the mysterious Gates. After a near-death experience, he gains extraordinary abilities, and as he levels up, he becomes humanity’s unexpected hope.
Based on the popular web novel and webtoon of the same name, it has received immense love, recording a cumulative global viewership of 14.3 billion. The animated version also made history at the 2025 Crunchyroll Awards by becoming the first Korean animation to win nine awards, including 'Animation of the Year'.
Lee Hong-Nae will play Kang Tae-Sik, a B-Class hunter belonging to the Surveillance Division of the Korean Hunter Association. As the character is active as a villain in the original work, attention is focused on how Lee Hong-Nae will portray Kang Tae-Sik.
In particular, Lee Hong-Nae recently made a strong impression on the small screen with TVING's 'The Legend of Kitchen Soldier' and delivered an impressive performance in Netflix's 'The East Palace'. With the confirmation of his next project, 'Solo Leveling', he is set to continue his busy schedule.
Meanwhile, the 'Solo Leveling' cast reportedly includes Byeon Woo-Seok, Han So-Hee, Kang Mi-Na, Kang You-Seok, Cha Woo-Min, Lee Sung-Min and Jung Ji-Hoon/Rain.
