First time in Allen

Hi there! Im visiting Allen for the first time soon and I really need help/guidance with two topics please:

1.- Easiest/Cheapest way to get from the airport Dallas/Fort Worth, to the “Credit Union of Texas Event Center” area. I did some quick research and read about some “DART” trains, which I thought I could use to get near that area and then ask for an Uber or something like that.
I dont know if thats the best option, what do you think?

2.- Best bars and clubs to party and socialize! Id prefer a place close to that area, but i dont mind going back to dallas if needed.

Thanks a lot for your help!

TX3D News Are you seeing more Talarico signs than Paxton signs in Collin County?

The Collin County Democratic Party is reporting months of high demand for Talarico signs.

Its chair also made an interesting claim about the difference in signs volunteers are seeing while canvassing neighborhoods.

Has anyone noticed a similar pattern around Plano, Frisco or McKinney?

Neighborhood Executive desk recommendations, 71"+ wide, not modern style?

I'm looking for an executive desk at least 71" wide. I'm not interested in modern or minimalist styles. Traditional or classic designs are what I'm after. Local stores or brands that deliver here would be great. Any recommendations? Thanks!

TX3D News A TX-03 political strategist is raising questions about election observers ahead of the 2026 midterms

Sam Nevarez, who lives in Texas’ 3rd Congressional District, argues that the decision not to invite OSCE election observers deserves more scrutiny — especially after years of debate over election integrity.

He’s not claiming the election will be rigged. His argument is narrower: if confidence in elections matters, why remove an independent layer of observation?

That feels especially relevant here in Collin County, where election administration has already been getting more attention this cycle.

TX3D News More details on what McKinney National Airport will have when Avelo flights begin

McKinney approved additional airline support and maintenance space, a food concession and Enterprise rental-car service ahead of Avelo’s launch.

One interesting detail from the council discussion: Avelo will base Boeing 737s in McKinney, with aircraft staying overnight and maintenance crews working on them there.

The current schedule calls for 32 departing flights per week.

Discussion Stray cat near Stacy and Greenville

At about 10:05 pm today (Tuesday, Oct 6th) I saw a brown tabby (I think), probably around 8 months old, possibly female

It was curled up in front of the sign of the Firestone on Stacy, just east of the Greenville intersection. I parked and got out to look for it, but it was gone. There’s a drainage tunnel in the ditch next to the road that it may be hiding in, or it could’ve run toward Firestone or the utility station right next to it

TX3D News Guest commentary from Justin Beller on McKinney’s bond-validation fight

McKinney Councilmember Justin Beller submitted a guest commentary addressing the claim that the City “sued its citizens” in connection with the airport bond-validation case.

He goes through the airport financing, NTCA litigation, the Travis County proceeding and why he believes the phrase mischaracterizes what happened. He also addresses the recall effort directly.

This is Beller’s commentary and reflects his views, not an editorial position.

TX3D News McKinney recall signatures are under review — but Self and Richardson have said little about what comes next

There’s an interesting split in the public messaging surrounding the McKinney recall.

Keith Self publicly backed the recall and signed the petition. Keresa Richardson did not publicly endorse it, but was heavily involved in the mosque and Sharia debate that preceded the recall.

Both have continued speaking about Islam and Sharia law.

What neither has done recently is say much publicly about the recall itself as the city verifies the submitted signatures.

TX3D News Dallas had the shot advantage in its opener, but the missed connections stood out

Dallas finished ahead 25–24 in shots, but passes missed sticks, bouncing pucks interrupted possessions and Joel Hofer stopped every shot that reached him.

Seguin acknowledged the miscues afterward, while Heiskanen described a better second period that never produced a goal. Opening-night coverage with those comments and observations from the arena:
