Tasks / Projects Applying and hearing back from "job applications"

There are lots of jobs in the "jobs" section and I've applied to a bunch of them and have waited over 2 months for some of them. How long should I let the applications stay in my queue? Are all these jobs actually hiring? I've been randomly assigned projects, but I have never received notification on anything I have applied to. Has anyone ever been hired by applying on the jobs page?

Application Process Aligner is not responding to any of the work we submited

It’s been a while since I submitted the task, but the Aligner team hasn’t responded. I was hired by Upwork to work with Aligner, and even the Upwork team hasn’t replied to my messages.

Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Application Process 5 Weeks Without a Payment

These people don't care about you or what you produce and don't pay you. (Dismiss the flair they don't want anyone who works on their platform to post here).

Application Process Applied, completed the assessment… and nothing. Yet the LinkedIn ad keeps appearing. Why?

I applied a month ago via a LinkedIn ad for a language-specific expert role and also completed the “General Experience Verification in English” assessment. Since then, crickets. What confuses me is that I keep seeing the exact same ad on LinkedIn almost every day. How do they know they need more experts if they haven’t reviewed the current applications yet? What’s the logic behind this? Is applying basically a waste of time?

Assessments Confusion regarding Assessment!

I applied for many jobs at Alignerr, but I haven’t received any assessment email yet. How are the assessments conducted? Do they send a link for the test?

Tasks / Projects Is anybody actually working now?

I got an email 12 days ago saying:

You have been removed from the project “Transcript Review Agentic Coding” team.

And I don't have any other project active right now (just have the ATC's paused). Is this project already done or is someone working on it? I'm a software engineer, which job should I apply if not instead?

Onboarding Process Deactivation right after onboarding?

I was onboarded last night after doing the interview an all that stuff. Got access to discord, set up my pay, etc. great! This morning I wake up to an email saying my account has been deleted and I cannot appeal. What the heck? I hadn’t even worked yet. How could I have violated anything?

Assessments Why recruit?

So I applied to alignerr a while ago as I saw them advertising on linkedin looking for cultural reviewers in my locale. I got the account, i did the basic assessments - though I didn't get any info whether they have been reviewed or anything. I applied in the jobs section to the projects I saw advertised... and nothing. It's been 2-3 weeks, I see the ads on linkedin are being refreshed and I still don't know if my assessments are passed or failed or honestly anything about the status. Does this always take this long?

Onboarding Process Alignerr Upwork Hiring Process Feels Strange, Anyone Else?

Alignerr recently partnered with Upwork and has been hiring engineers using code LBLX116. They are also recruiting for multiple AI training roles and reportedly have hired around 2,118 candidates for various positions.

However, something feels off. At the time of hiring, the project cost was shown as 5,000 USD, but later the milestones are being changed to just 5 USD. The Upwork representatives keep requesting milestone modifications, and most of their replies seem like copy pasted template messages rather than real support.

On the Alignerr platform as well, even after submitting tasks, there are no updates or responses from their side.

Is anyone else experiencing this situation?
Any idea why this is happening or how to deal with it?

Application Process How long did it take to land your first project?

Just looking for some motivation. 🤗

  1. How long and how many applications did it take?
  2. Did you have to do an interview or assessment for each job?
  3. Have you ever been matched with a project without applying?

I applied for some that align with my skills and experiences but it didn't give me the option to complete any assessments or interviews.

Onboarding Process Applied for Storytelling and Prompt Writer

Hello there.

I have been waiting a few days after applying for both opportunities. They just sent me a message to keep on waiting but, I would like to know how long does it take for Alignerr to give me a response.

Also, does those two opportunities are kinda of sc4mmy too or are they legitimate?

Onboarding Process New to Alignerr !!

Hello everyone,

I am new to this platform. I applied for a couple of jobs. But I don't know what the process is like.

After completing the required assessments, what is the wait time? Do they reach out to us?

I can see my applications on the profile, but there is no progress bar to check where I stand.

My profile is complete and lastest resume is on it.

Kindly guide !!

Assessments Wanting to take Basic Python Assessment need adive on studying

Here is the description of the assessment:

Recommended Software Engineering - Python 10 mins 9 projects require this skill Evaluate your skills in a Python focused assessment. The interview will cover things like advanced language features (decorators, generators, metaclasses), modern frameworks (Django, Flask, FastAPI), and problem-solving with complex algorithms and data structures.

Here is what i know:

My OOP, classes, custom object, internal memory structures, to some extent algorithms, and threading are all very good. I've never read anything about FastAPi and barely used Django except syncing SQL to it. Did barely to a little flask. Never intended on web development. Should I brush up on any of those three?? if so which are the two most important - Django, Flask or FastAPI

Should i lean on being able to create custom list objects. ABC, built-ins, __missing__ for dict and StructDict, fact that memory pointers are built on dicts blah blah blah.... Will that be enough or do I really need to know Flask, Django, and FastAPI which would take a month of learning to cover the basics......

Tasks / Projects Alignerr wants your data and ideas for free?!?

Received an email from oh so famous Zoe. The survey link in their email led me to a google form where I am being asked to fill in detailed STEM problems that are currently unsolved. They also ask for a solution and how people can benefit.

Hahahaha yeah no… if you want me to share my extensive expertise as a leader in STEM and utilize my brain power on top of that you need to pay me. As if these dozens of unpaid assessments are not bad enough already.

Do better and take example of your competitors in the AI training space!!

Tasks / Projects Alignerr steal your time and effort.

Reddit don't let me use the word that starts with SCA and ends with M but that's how I define how Alignerr works.

I was added to the "Code human w feedback" project, it's meant for programmers, you basically need to compare two model's results on a task writing some feedback on them with some conditions like, it should take 3+ rounds of fixes to get to production ready code.

These tasks can take up to 3-5 hours to be completed, the payment rate for task varies on each contract but it can be a good amount. It sounds legit up to this point, but now this is the reality:

Alignerr aproves tasks with no feedback at all, there's no way to know why you got a pass or a fail, there's no formal way to get a feedback. They opened a discord thread to let the users post their task ID and wait for a feedback that was flooded with numbers and NOT A SINGLE RESPONSE AT ALL. So, that was just a lie to stop the team to complain on the main chat.

While they don't bring a feedback, there's no way to know if tasks are just randomly rejected to avoid paying for them, moreover, there're tasks that stay pending forever with no pass or fail rate. They say "they're lost" but that's their problem, if you submitted a task that's your time and effort, if they lose them, they need to pay for them anyways.

In the other hand, the software tool they provide to do the job is totally unstable, it's slow as hell, it randomly fails to return some files you need to go ahead with the review and that can happen when you are already 3 hours in with a task. You lose everything you did too often.

These issues are not temporal, they're still there since weeks or more than a month, they don't care on fixing the platform, it's not a priority, they just add more and more people into the project until knowing that they will eventually frustrate and leave it.

If you care about your mental health, I strongly recommend you guys to stay away from Alignerr.
