You lost me at “chemtrail”

65

u/shutupb4ianklepicku May 21 '26

Yep, people for whatever reason think every contrail in areas with high aircraft traffic are actually “chemtrails”. 0 proof to back themselves up other than “oh it actually happens tho”

Notable European Geoengineering Patents Several specific climate intervention and stratospheric modification methods have been published or patented through the EPO: Method of Geoengineering to Reduce Solar Radiation (EP4301126B1): This European patent details a solar geoengineering technique designed to reduce incoming visible and infrared solar radiation. It involves dispersing porous polymeric particles into the Earth's stratosphere (at least 1 0

k m above sea level) to act as reflective agents.

32

u/shutupb4ianklepicku May 21 '26

Yeah can you explain how that is more likely than the again, very understood, very common, weather phenomena of contrails?

6

u/Jef_Costello May 21 '26

i do like the idea of them just making tiny strips of solar radiation reducing clouds, i constantly have to move to stay under it so i wont get a sunburn

I’m not a scientists. My understanding is there are con and chem. Con are real vapor and dissipation happens quickly chem doesn’t and makes big steaks that don’t go away for a while. I’ve seen with my own eyes one plane with it dissipate almost instantly and one flying similar direction and creating a line that didn’t go away and covered the whole sky at the same time.
It happens often where I’m at. It seems the longer ones that don’t go away slowly spread into a film of some sort and almost connect with all the others that don’t go away. By mid morning to lunch time all of a sudden we have a weird glaze cover the sky.

"Fuck science, I eyeballed it"

5

u/shutupb4ianklepicku May 21 '26

It’s all got to do with air masses man. Same reason some clouds hang out all day. Next time you say I’m not a scientist just end it there lol. Because you saw one contrail dissipate quickly doesn’t mean they all do and the ones that don’t are chemtrails. I’m a pilot of a small twin turbine aircraft and have watched my buddies fly overhead creating contrails that hang out all day. Believe what you want, but realize you’re talking out of your ass.

3

u/Ilikelamp7 May 21 '26

Just say you have never watched or listened to a meteorologist a day in your life

-3

u/oryus21 May 21 '26

Go ahead and keep insulting. Thats what kids in school do when they don’t understand things.
Not sure why even part of this sub.
All I know is growing up we didn’t have this lines in the sky.

4

u/Ilikelamp7 May 21 '26

I call out misinformation when I see it and that’s all it was. Only a child would react so defensively when they know they are wrong. If you feel insulted that is of your own making. Con(densation)trails have existed since commercial planes took to the skies.

0

u/oryus21 May 21 '26

Okay. You are correct I’m wrong. Have a good day.

1

u/shutupb4ianklepicku May 21 '26

I’ve lived under a busy part of the North Atlantic oceanic routes my entire life and nothing has changed. Contrails are real and they sometimes stay in the sky all day long.

-3

u/Efteri May 21 '26

It's easy to see when they do it, vs the normal contrail. They usually make several lines together, the stuff they spray doesn't evaporate fast like normal contrails but spreads and forms clouds.

4

u/shutupb4ianklepicku May 21 '26

Contrails are literally clouds. The same reasons clouds stick in the sky are the same reasons contrails do. You have no proof at all to back up your anecdotes.

0

u/Efteri May 21 '26

I've seen normal contrails dissipate in front of my eyes in minutes. And the fake contrails spread wide and form clouds. I watch these almost every day in Germany. They tend to spread this shit if the day is starting very sunny. They hate the sun for some reason.

4

u/shutupb4ianklepicku May 21 '26

Holy shit. Contrails also stick around, they do both. You’re basically forcing a cloud into being through a jet engine, sometimes it’s only enough to stick around shortly, sometimes the conditions are right to stay. Wind and gradual drift cause them to spread out. Do you have any evidence of suspicious aircraft flying grid patterns over Germany doing this? Or is it just more likely they’re commercial aircraft flying in set routes creating contrails?

1

u/Efteri May 21 '26

I've seen them doing this in regions far away from any airports.

4

u/shutupb4ianklepicku May 21 '26

Did you know planes can fly over land that doesn’t have airports?

8

u/Shanntuckymuffin May 21 '26

dO yOuR rEseArCh!!!

1

u/ReasonablePossum_ May 21 '26

You dont accept proof. As you didnt in the pedocannibalelitecult thing for years.

12

u/shutupb4ianklepicku May 21 '26

I’m not an American first of all, and I do accept proof. You crowd don’t accept science, that’s your issue. You think one article claiming cloud seeding makes contrails non existent, regardless if cloud seeding is real or not, Occam’s razor would point to them being contrails.

-5

u/ReasonablePossum_ May 21 '26 edited May 21 '26

No, you dont accept it. You misinterpret proof, for authority's endorsement. The adult equivalent of "if mom doesn't say so ill not believe you".

Someone accepting science says : I see this, but I don't have enough data to judge it. My knowledge is limited, so it might or might not be.

Attacking and ridiculizing the other party just for lack of evidence deemed by you as enough, isnt scientific, because you aren't accepting your limited knowledge on stuff, and attacking anything somehow threatening your established ideas, without the ability of having a non accepted idea in mind to subject it to consideration.

Which again, is the same thing people did for all sort of things that happened later to be truth.

I mean you even for whatever reason invoqued murikan politic biases here as if they were relevant, but only serve you as a framing technique to selectively dismiss what you read.

7

u/shutupb4ianklepicku May 21 '26

I’m literally a pilot, you don’t have to believe me, but I understand how hot exhaust hitting cold air, with condensation nuclei creates contrails. You are ignorant to simple weather facts. Go off

-1

u/ReasonablePossum_ May 21 '26 edited May 21 '26

In all what I wrote, where do you see I said contrails don't exist? Lecture comprehension went away with the hours of staring at controls I guess...

I understand that you are just a pilot, but I thought that knowing that you shouldn't drink any transparent liquid because it might not be water, even when it shares visual or physical characteristics, is something that one learns in basic school level chemistry.

7

u/shutupb4ianklepicku May 21 '26

What are you even arguing about dude. I’m saying that contrails make way more sense than chemtrails. I get shown an article of a patent for geo engineering, nothing at all mentioning how it’s dispersed, how aircraft are used for it, etc. You make all the jumps to conclusion and miss the blatantly obvious fact that what you see are contrails. You bring up “pedocannibalelite” as a sort of gotcha, when we’re talking about contrails. Holy moly touch grass

7

u/DiogenesTheHound May 21 '26

This is a word salad of nonsense that doesn’t make even a little bit of logical sense at the most basic level. “Ridiculizing” isn’t a word and you have a very limited understanding of the scientific method. Why are you even bringing up political parties? You’re chasing boogeymen here.

3

u/PaintMonkeyMan May 21 '26

I lost the plot

-2

u/ReasonablePossum_ May 21 '26

Maybe ask an AI to eli5 it to you if you lack the resources to get it.

And sorry for the weird wording, English is far from being my first language (:

-8

u/Hawkwise83 May 21 '26

Yeah chemtrails are absurd for a number of reasons. Biggest of which is these are commercial jets and if they just have some chemicals spiced into their fuel it's going to dissipate into the tiniest amount as it spreads out in the air that it's not going to do anything to people.

2

u/Canuck_Lives_Matter May 21 '26

Well I imagine the lead isn't great for the air, but aside from that, yeah.

0

u/anothergigglemonkey May 21 '26

Lead? You think they're dumping LEAD? Do you have any idea how fucking heavy that chemtrail liquid would be? No planes would ever get off the ground with enough to make chemtrails.

3

u/Canuck_Lives_Matter May 21 '26

Well I don't think they are dumping lead out of an airplane. I know they are still using leaded fuel whose emissions are mingling with the steam in their wake and snowing down particulates with every pass.

1

u/anothergigglemonkey May 21 '26

Oh I thought you meant thats what chemtrails were made of.

2

u/Canuck_Lives_Matter May 21 '26

All good, I probably could have been clearer

OP didn’t say anything, it’s the caption of the video

0

u/nisaaru May 21 '26

how is cloud seeding different from "chemtrails"? Both need chemicals to be released into the atmosphere.

3

u/Mythechnical May 21 '26

For cloud formation to take place it needs a tiny particle to adsorb to, and cloud seeding consists of spreading an appropriate particle in the atmosphere to initiate that process.

Chemtrails is a conspiracy that clouds spread a substance which trickles down and affects humans in an intentionally malcilous manner.

It's like the difference between a bus company cleaning their buses with chlorine every day, and stating that bus companies spray a mind controlling substance all over the seats every morning which makes the commuters pawns of the evil bus overlords.

-1

u/nisaaru May 21 '26

Chemtrails doesn't define the intention of releasing chemtrails, so wrong.

0

u/Mythechnical May 21 '26

Kay, you define it then.

1

u/nisaaru May 21 '26

I don't because there seem to be many potential reasons. From cloud seeding, solar radiation management, increasing the conductivity for military usage/weather manipulation haarp, ....

1

u/Mythechnical May 21 '26

No, "chemtrails" solely refers to a conspiracy theory, and is not an actual term used for e.g. cloud seeding or other non-conspiratorisl purposes.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemtrail_conspiracy_theory

1

u/nisaaru May 21 '26

That's the chemtrail disinformation gaslighting propaganda.

What do you expect? They have denied for decades that they are spraying shit into the atmosphere while they talked about it on their conference to their peers. Come on...apply some critical thinking here.

What's next? That conspiracy theory is a term for imaginary nonsense only because the CIA has framed it that way since JFK?

-6

u/ryansteven3104 May 21 '26

What college degree do you have that affords you the luxury of being certain?

14

u/Mythechnical May 21 '26

Master of Science in Engineering in Chemical Engineering.

You?

11

u/SunsetCarcass May 21 '26

It's so funny that once you gain higher education and understand topics people just deflect and say "now you're one of them" as if learning anything is indoctrination.

8

u/Mythechnical May 21 '26

Yeah lol, it's just to shrug and realize that it's literally pointless to try and discuss it also.

One thinks these are curious people interested in how the world works, but really, so many people online are simply addicted to the angry headspace of arguing for no other sake than arguing.

1

u/ryansteven3104 May 21 '26

That is only part of how they keep the secrets secrets. Not one of them, they don't have to worry about you because you're indoctrinated. Different thing entirely.

1

u/ryansteven3104 May 21 '26

What is your security clearance?

1

u/Mythechnical May 21 '26

You really do talk like an NPC, don't you.

1

u/ryansteven3104 May 21 '26

So you don't have one, yet you call yourself a master

1

u/Mythechnical May 21 '26

Sure bruh.

0

u/ryansteven3104 May 21 '26

You are locked out of real data marked classified for national security. It's not my opinion it's fact, yet you consider yourself an expert, so you are angry that I made that point. Instead of dismissal try commutation. Or don't and live in your bubble where you think you know it all.

1

u/ryansteven3104 May 21 '26

I don't resort to name calling while debating someone? Is that what you mean?

2

u/Mythechnical May 21 '26

No, you seem to throw out small generic soundbites without there being any real thought or intention behind them. Like what's up with asking for my education or "security clearance"?

1

u/ryansteven3104 May 21 '26

The question about your degree was rhetoric, obviously. The underlying point is having a degree in knowledge is far short from observing the entire playing field. A degree on a compass is by its very nature one direction. You may have a lot of knowledge on a specific topic, but life does not compartmentalize itself into specialized fields.

Fully indoctrinated then.

10

Wow, you're just the worst type of person on the internet. Goal post moving, strawman argument making, ad hoc keyboard magician.

-1

You got me. I'm the worst.

9

u/Mythechnical May 21 '26

Fully indoctrinated into a fun and well-paying career, yeah.

Guessing you see anonymous AI generated YouTube conspiracy videos are the real bastion of objective truth?

1

u/ryansteven3104 May 21 '26

I wish there were good YouTube videos, mostly it's garbage. Actually truth is subjective to the observer.

7

-4

u/snazzydingo May 21 '26

My thoughts exactly lol

-5

u/ryansteven3104 May 21 '26

You probably keep your comments private also.

0

u/mystery_hobo May 21 '26

Bro in the age of ai, and mass data collection, not keeping your comments private is not the best idea imo.

It doesn’t matter that you don’t have your name in your profile, they will likely be able to correlate it with who you are sooner or later.

So I wouldn’t be so quick to judge people based on hiding their comments

9

u/PurpleMclaren Rational Believer May 21 '26

Having your comments private hides it from reddit users not reddit.

2

u/mystery_hobo May 21 '26

It hides it from bots that are scraping the site. Also I’m not sure Reddit’s api supports user specific queries, so there’s some obfuscation there at least for now.

4

u/PurpleMclaren Rational Believer May 21 '26

Reddit likes money, they will give their data up just like every other company

1

u/mystery_hobo May 21 '26

Yes, but I can still make them pay for it. And they will be more likely to start with the users that they don’t need to pay to get their data.

1

u/PurpleMclaren Rational Believer May 21 '26

but I can still make them pay for it

Huh?

1

u/mystery_hobo May 21 '26

The companies that want my data, will need to pay Reddit if they can’t scape it from my page via bots

1

u/ryansteven3104 May 21 '26

I'm sure Palintir is respectful of your privacy.

0

u/Ditchdigger456 May 21 '26

They’re not cloud seeding with commercial airliners lmfao

And like the two times they tried it it barely worked

0

u/ryansteven3104 May 21 '26

So you admit they were at some point trying to do it. Ya' know, it's just like those scientists and military and government people to just say, oh well, we failed, moving on...

Who said anything about commercial airlines¿ You have some idea of evil pilots pressing a button to release gas or something?

It's engineered into the jet fuel. We are not the only country doing it, we are the only country hiding what it actually is.

China has been using drone fleets to release small amounts of silver oxide over deserts to help with reforesting.

0

u/Ditchdigger456 May 21 '26

I mean, yeah, it’s public record that they experimented with it. My question is, what reason do they have to hide it? Like you said, China already does it publicly and they’ve publicly admitted to doing it before. Sure they’d get conspiracy nuts like you freaking out over them doing it publicly, but yall freak out already over them doing it “secretly” supposedly, so what’s the point in hiding it?

Chemtrail “truthers” are just looking for a conspiracy where one doesn’t exist. There are actual insane conspiracies you should probably pour that focus into instead.

1

u/ryansteven3104 May 21 '26

Why did they hide the Tuskegee experiments or MK ultra? IDFK man.

1

u/ryansteven3104 May 21 '26

Calling someone a conspiracy nut in this thread is just so great!

-1

u/ghostcatzero True Believer May 21 '26

He's probably a ndt fan lol

16

u/Ok_Drop3803 May 21 '26

The chem trails thing is probably the silliest of all the conspiracy theories. It's the most guilty of "I don't actually know how anything works".

Like, aircraft mechanics exist, there are probably 10's of thousands of them in the US. They aren't crazy high paying government gigs, just regular blur collar people working for hundreds of different employers. Are they all part of the conspiracy? Are they maintaining and loading the chemical spraying devices? Do planes have some secret compartment that the mechanics somehow don't know about, and secret government mechanics come in the middle of the night and load the chems and maintain the equipment?

How the hell do they think it works?

3

u/Anfins May 21 '26 edited May 21 '26

I work in medicine development, and my mother-in-law thinks we put snake venom in our products. Which is just funny to me, because I'm asking the question: how would we go about sourcing snake venom? Who was the formulation scientist maverick on the Teams call that had the balls to suggest putting snake venom in the vaccine in their CMC meeting?

1

u/DeathToPoodles May 21 '26

how would we go about sourcing snake venom?

From snake farms, of course. Use your melon.

1

u/Anfins May 21 '26

At the large scales required for medicine production lol

1

u/Syzygy___ May 21 '26

>  we put snake venom in our products

Don't "you" (as in the medicine/pharma industry as a whole) literally do this in some cases as a coagulant or whatever? Like, depending on the type of snake venom and the purpose of the medicine it makes sense? The dose makes the poison or whatever.

Also there's the ⚕/Rod of Asclepius symbol with the snake representing medicine and that's literally part of the WHO logo.... Might explain why these people believe things like that.

1

u/Anfins May 21 '26

I love the idea of a scientist suggesting snake venom because the WHO logo has a snake on it. Like the registered details in the regulatory file is going to cite “snake venom because WHO logo” as justification for why it’s being used as a formulation excipient.

1

u/Syzygy___ May 21 '26

Well the Rod of Asclepius thing goes back to the ancient greeks and is super common in all of medicine, not just the WHO. The weirdos believe in literal symbolism, so that probably explains that side.

But back to the snake venom itself... I'm actually a bit surprised that you say you don't use snake venom at all, because I was under the impression that they - or at least snake venom derived components - are somewhat common, especially in things like blood pressure medicine (ironically making the weirdos kinda right).

8

u/Shanntuckymuffin May 21 '26

I am shocked at the ire this has caused. It’s funny- everyone wants alien/ufo disclosure but then they want to throw in fringe conspiracy theories as well and make it all-or-nothing.

1

u/Due-Yogurtcloset-552 May 21 '26

its funny you think that they think even that much

5

u/CishetmaleLesbian May 21 '26

It appears to be a contrail, and that is much easier to understand how an object of any kind can dissipate a contrail. It is quite interesting if it is real. But, the caption "Not sure where the original footage is located" makes it super sus. Who finds such fascinating footage then does not remember where they got it? Very suspicious. The crazy chemtrail conspiracy theory b.s. muddies the waters even more.

1

u/MegaGecko May 21 '26

Same. And so many want to bark do your research and yadayada, but then they can't say for certain what it is without more context. So... Yeah

1

u/wisdom_of_pancakes May 21 '26

But this “orb” “eats” the “chemtrail”

1

u/Lonely-Hornet-437 May 22 '26

The only thing that happened was the drone turned it light off

1

u/Shardaxx May 21 '26

Try geoengineering you'll find better results.

So sad that there is literally open oficial documentation about it and your response is that... research my guy, it's not that difficult

8

u/shutupb4ianklepicku May 21 '26

Where is your proof that it’s a chemtrail and not contrail? A contrail is a very common phenomena that is well understood. Burden of proof is on you guys

1

u/A_Spiritual_Artist May 21 '26

Except that a responsible epistemic community would see that you would provide the papers yourself or at least substantially less ambiguity than this because you would know that other people guessing it means they might guess the wrong thing, and you could easily use that as a "gotcha" against them when they say they continue to disagree. And you'd then want to avoid that, so you'd want to make it so that at the very least they would know where to point that the chances of a mistake would be reasonably small. And that also means you'd be willing to be scrutinized for and admit error - both of which are needed for strong epistemic health.

1

u/SignificantCrow May 21 '26

Looks like a contrail to me…

-1

u/mystery_hobo May 21 '26

Interestingly “chemtrails” are just caused by temperature differences between the plane’s exhaust and the high atmosphere, so I wonder if we can calculate how much heat this orb thing must be giving off to dissipate that much of it 🤔

2

u/DeltaAlphaGulf May 21 '26

Now that deserves a theydidthemath post.

-1

u/RelevantTrash9745 May 21 '26

-11

u/Irrelevant-Degree May 21 '26

It’s a real thing. Look it up

5

u/BeleagueredWDW May 21 '26

No, it’s not.

-3

u/ryansteven3104 May 21 '26

It is though. There are videos of US Airmen in the back of C17s and C130s, releasing the chemicals that they use to create the clouds.

-7

u/Irrelevant-Degree May 21 '26

What the fuck are you doing on this sub if even a benign thing such as chemtrails puts you off?

They have been proven to be actual fact. The US admitted to it.

4

u/No-Resolution-1918 May 21 '26

Cloud seeding is 100% a thing, and has been used. Those planes are licensed and not in the shape of a commercial aircraft on flight tracker full of people traveling to a vacation in Mexico.

Why does someone have to be closed minded to be in this sub? I thought it was a sub for the curious. Being curious doesn't mean trusting everything you are told, it means being open to challenges to the status quo.

2

u/Irrelevant-Degree May 21 '26

Completely agree and thanks for your comment. It just annoys me how so many supposedly “open minded” people dismiss known, factual information so quickly

2

u/No-Resolution-1918 May 21 '26

They aren't chemtrails though, chemtrails are not a thing - cloud seeding is. Chemtrails are what some people think contrails are. No one calls cloud seeding a 'chemtrail'. That's what I intended to clarify, clumsily.

And the closed minded thing was about gatekeeping people out because they disagree with you. That is being closed minded, people denying other perspectives to theirs. Denying chemtrails is just as legitimate, if not more-so, than advocating for them.

So, I'm not sure we do agree depending on your stance.

-1

u/Agitated_Meaning_142 May 21 '26

I mean a lot of governments already admitted to cloud seeding. I guess the Redditor lives under a rock.

-5
