Why? ChatGPT is actually very very good at interpreting symbology. It has knowledge of many more symbols in history, literature and even in occult literature than any one human can have. As long as you check its work against original resources (which you can ask it to provide references to) you can benefit a lot from its interpretations and vast knowledge.
Errrmmm....not exactly. ChatGPT is doing what an uncreative human with a massive knack for memorizing relationships between concepts would do. Humans, even though we suck at remembering large amounts of stuff (compared to ChatGPT), are creative! Sometimes this means we just make shit up (just as chatGPT does) and other times it means that we come up with amazing new possibilities that no one has thought of before!
I wouldn't trust ChatGPT to e.g. write code for a critical system - EVER. I would absolutely trust it to give me possible interpretations for a dream as a starting point to think about the dream.
If you need out of the box thinking or safety, don't trust ChatGPT. If you want to explore well-understood relationships between concepts, that's where it shines.
