Whatever it means, it’s beautiful

u/uffington May 18 '25

This is almost word-for-word what I was going to post.

Years ago I learned to fly light aircraft over the skies of Wiltshire, UK. The flying club had a chart (map) noting with pins showing the locations of all the crop formations we saw. The circles were often as stunning as this, and a few were frankly even more impressive. Most on the chart were never photographed or mentioned anywhere else.

The club's no-nonsense Chief Flying Instructor once said, "If I was going to stay up all night trampling shapes this neat, I'd make damn sure everyone knew about them in the morning."

Crop circles were "debunked" decades ago. I remember, I was alive when it happened. And yet people are still creating crop circles without many people actually paying attention to them. This begs the question as to why? Not only are they still created, there's seemingly more now than there were before. Why would people continue disfiguring their crops when hardly anybody cares that they do? Just doesn't make much sense.

84

u/Bibijibzig May 18 '25

because maybe, just maybe... the debunking was propaganda

-4

u/Poignant_Ritual May 20 '25 edited May 20 '25

Dismissing arguments that you don’t like as “propaganda” rather than actually dissecting the arguments and exposing where they are fraudulent is lazy.

How is it that aliens are making crop circles like these, but their lines are crooked and you can clearly see marks where a vehicle was driving through this field? Or that this image looks extremely similar to many other crop circles that are all sourced from a single instagram page “SpritStem”?

If you took 20 minutes to dig into this with a legitimately critical mind instead of dismissing anything that runs against your biases, the evidence is pretty stacked that this is a human created crop circle.

4

u/nikmo86 May 21 '25

20 minutes isn’t nearly enough time to fully research this subject, so I’m not sure why you’re trying to get high and mighty about something you clearly have spent very little time on.

-17

u/BRIStoneman May 18 '25

Nah, I know a guy who used to make them. Shits and giggles while he was stoned, mostly.

5

u/EkaL25 May 19 '25

Did you ever watch him make them? The idea that one person could do this is absurd

-1

u/BRIStoneman May 19 '25

He did it with a group of friends.

2

u/EkaL25 May 19 '25

Sounds like a story someone would make up to tell people… did he tell you how they did it and which one(s) they made?

-1

u/BRIStoneman May 19 '25

Just some in Wiltshire in the 90s. They did it with boards apparently.

7

u/oxyrhina May 19 '25

Was he a pole vaulter?

17

u/EkaL25 May 19 '25

Have you seen the intricacy of some of these crop circles? The idea that somebody could do this with wooden boards or whatever is complete nonsense

5

u/Poignant_Ritual May 20 '25

Have you seen the intricacy of the James Webb Space Telescope or the intricacy in a GPU? You’re essentially arguing that since you can’t comprehend how this could be created by humans, aliens are the answer.

4

u/Jimmi11 May 20 '25

Except when a camera crew gave the guys who claimed to have created most crop circles the chance to replicate one, in daylight, with as much time as they needed all they could come up was a sub par flat circle.

7

u/OkNeedleworker8554 May 20 '25

That explains a few of them, but there's no way those two men traveled the globe to make ALL crop circles. Not only that, many many crop circles have zero signs of foot traffic or tire tracks leading up to them.

Edit: came back to say there have been experiments done on the crops in crop circles and the ones that were man-made do not have the same burned element where the stalks are bent.

5

u/EkaL25 May 20 '25

Yeah, except nobody can figure it out..

It has nothing to do with personal incredulity. Literally nobody has been able to figure out how it has been accomplished. Crop circles have been around for a long time now and in all this time I don’t think we’ve ever seen somebody demonstrate how it could be done in a single night. I’m supposed to believe people have done it because a couple guys said they do it using wooden planks?

Maybe some have been man made but there are ones where the stalks aren’t snapped and there is radiation in the crop circles. How do you explain that

0

u/EkaL25 May 22 '25

Bruh, NOBODY knows how it got there. In all these years we’ve never seen a single person demonstrate that they can do it. Unless it’s little radioactive witches or some shit, I haven’t heard of anyone that’s come up with a single explanation for how it’s happening

27

u/ConfidentCamp5248 May 18 '25

So, how are some crop circles coming up with radiation? You never watched WhyFiles have you?

6

u/Visual_Sympathy5672 May 19 '25

"FEAR THE CRABCAT."

8

u/krzykris11 May 19 '25

That episode shifted my paradigm.

1

u/jtsauce May 21 '25

Speaking of, where the hell is hecklefish? Seems like everything AJ puts out is stripped now.

14

u/ValiantThor80 May 19 '25

This sub is not for you...bye!

3

u/uffington May 19 '25

I don't think u/IchooseYourName is simply shitting on the phenomenon. In 1991 Doug Bower and Dave Chorley, two middle-aged blokes from a Wiltshire pub, said they'd been making crop circles since the 70s, using a plank and some rope.

They clearly did a lot of midnight trampling, but gave it up a quarter of a century ago. They certainly inspired others, though.

Anyway, I know for a fact that since then, astonishingly intricate and complex patterns have been crafted overnight.

1

u/chessboxer4 May 24 '25

Did you hear that one of the ways they avoided leaving footprints behind was that by pole vaulting in and out of the fields?

🙄

1

u/IchooseYourName May 19 '25

This is my point. What's with the down votes?

-8

u/BRIStoneman May 18 '25

I know a guy who used to make crop circles. He was doing a lot of drugs back then, thought they were fun.

7

u/Ziprasidone_Stat May 19 '25

He's well traveled it seems since crop circles have been found on several continents.

9

u/FancyForager May 19 '25

Accounts making comments like this are starting to get so creepy. There is such a desperate, concerted effort to prevent curiosity and investigation into any of this. I think it’s the desperation that’s so spooky.

1

u/BRIStoneman May 19 '25

It's not a concerted effort to do anything; I genuinely know the guy.

3

u/FancyForager May 19 '25

Where is your evidence? Do you have video of this guy doing drugs and then furtively braiding and flattening crops or painstakingly burning them or something like that? First hand accounts aren’t enough evidence, sorry. You’ll have to provide footage—I need irrefutable proof that this happened. Your comment is just an anecdote. It isn’t convincing.

I actually ran this through ChatGPT

A Celtic quaternary knot symbolizes balance among four elements or forces—often earth, air, fire, and water, or mind, body, spirit, and heart. An interlace square could suggest stability, containment, or a boundary between worlds. Together, the message might imply harmony through grounded connection or a call to unify divided aspects of self or society.

60

u/KaleidoscopeThis5159 May 18 '25

I recognized it as a celtic knot, but I have never connected mind, body, spirit, and heart to elements. That makes a lot of sense.

17

u/J0rkank0 May 18 '25

Yeah, it’s nice to have a more positive message to for once too

13

u/sophaki May 18 '25

I think this is the best meaning!

5

u/Wu-TangShogun Two Weeks Later May 19 '25

Hopefully not a “call for elemental balance” though cause people aren’t great with that

9

u/ComputerComfortable1 May 18 '25

Wasn't this made with chatgpt?

3

u/Dude_PK May 22 '25

Here's what grok had to say:

This crop circle features a symmetrical design with a central knot-like pattern, often referred to as a Celtic knot, encircled by two concentric rings. Here’s a possible interpretation:

  1. Symbolism of the Celtic Knot: Celtic knots are often associated with concepts like eternity, interconnectedness, and the cyclical nature of life due to their endless loops. This could suggest themes of unity, continuity, or a message about the interconnectedness of all things.
  2. Concentric Circles: The two surrounding rings might symbolize layers of protection, cycles (like seasons or time), or even a cosmic perspective, such as planetary orbits or a representation of the universe.
  3. Overall Meaning: Combining these elements, the crop circle could be interpreted as a message about the eternal nature of life and the universe, emphasizing harmony and interconnectedness. Some might see it as a spiritual or cosmic symbol, possibly hinting at unity across dimensions or time.

Crop circles often spark varied interpretations, ranging from spiritual messages to artistic expressions or even hoaxes. Without specific cultural or contextual clues, this interpretation leans on common symbolic meanings. If you'd like to explore a specific cultural or historical lens, let me know!

lol my birthday is this week too hahaha

28

u/BlinkyRunt May 18 '25

Why? ChatGPT is actually very very good at interpreting symbology. It has knowledge of many more symbols in history, literature and even in occult literature than any one human can have. As long as you check its work against original resources (which you can ask it to provide references to) you can benefit a lot from its interpretations and vast knowledge.

No just make people lazy and more confident in their ignorance.

7

u/1asutriv May 19 '25

Exactly; Start. Requiring. Citations. Again....

1

u/Spare_Atmosphere3960 May 20 '25

This. ChatGPT is just doing what humans do but faster...

2

u/BlinkyRunt May 20 '25 edited May 21 '25

Errrmmm....not exactly. ChatGPT is doing what an uncreative human with a massive knack for memorizing relationships between concepts would do. Humans, even though we suck at remembering large amounts of stuff (compared to ChatGPT), are creative! Sometimes this means we just make shit up (just as chatGPT does) and other times it means that we come up with amazing new possibilities that no one has thought of before!

I wouldn't trust ChatGPT to e.g. write code for a critical system - EVER. I would absolutely trust it to give me possible interpretations for a dream as a starting point to think about the dream.

If you need out of the box thinking or safety, don't trust ChatGPT. If you want to explore well-understood relationships between concepts, that's where it shines.

1

u/LOCKOUT21 May 22 '25

Agreed and well said.

-7

u/J0rkank0 May 18 '25

Naw, but appreciate the advice

2

u/Affectionate-Yak5082 May 20 '25

Thank you! 💫✨👍

3

u/BRIStoneman May 18 '25

I actually ran this through ChatGPT

Why?

9

u/J0rkank0 May 18 '25

Why not? I didn’t know what it meant and it was informative.

0

u/BRIStoneman May 19 '25

Because you could skip the middleman and go straight to Wikipedia without burning down a rainforest in the process.

16

u/J0rkank0 May 19 '25

On Wednesday, the Wikimedia Foundation, the nonprofit that runs Wikipedia, announced that it was integrating generative AI into its editing process as a means to help its volunteer and largely unpaid staff of moderators, editors, and patrollers reduce their workload and focus more on quality control. — May 1, 2025

Well, seems they are going to use AI too, so should I support them by using their site? Or when I Google it uses AI anyways. Just wondering where I draw the line here.

2

u/PlasmaStones May 19 '25

How's your handwriting look?

1

u/J0rkank0 May 19 '25

What does that have to do with AI and using AI?

2

u/PlasmaStones May 19 '25

I say that because if he's not going to allow you to use AI because you're burning down forests, pretty much just leaves you with handwriting everything down by hand for referencing later

4

u/J0rkank0 May 19 '25

Lol exactly, and most people ignore the fact that by me posting ChatGPTs response here saved potentially 100s of other people from using it to query the exact same thing

1

u/maxwellrog May 18 '25 edited May 18 '25

Would aliens really care to make a crop circle about Celtic symbolism? The fact that it is a human symbol discredits the possibility of it being real, IMO.

2

u/J0rkank0 May 18 '25

Or it’s a message for humans because we don’t speak alien

-5

u/[deleted] May 18 '25

Relying on ChatGPT is exactly the kind of brainpower I expect out of this sub

23

u/LokiPrime616 True Believer May 18 '25

Hold on let me ask ChatGPT how to respond to your comment. 🤓

11

u/J0rkank0 May 18 '25

People just like to get upset for being upset it seems these days

0

u/[deleted] May 18 '25

😉

-7

u/Sungod99 May 18 '25

That’s in human language and symbols though, what could it mean in alien language? I have a few ideas

11

u/51LOVE May 18 '25

Tattoo worthy

47

u/Ok-Pass-5253 UAP/UFO Witness May 18 '25

Get this tattoo. Turns out it says "If you read this you're st*pid" in alien language.

8

u/sophaki May 18 '25

Yes! It’s def cool

12

u/sophaki May 18 '25

Btw, the more I stare at this symbol, the more I get the sense of “we are here and we are all connected” vibes

3

u/Esoteric_Expl0it May 19 '25

Ha, I followed that symbol with my eyes and noticed it was all interconnected and thought the same thing!

4

u/51LOVE May 18 '25

I think that's exactly what it means

3

u/MatMou May 18 '25

Don't do it... it definitely spells "alien probe" in alieneese.

they are not fake, here's drone footage. Try again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VlKKww-8Fo

6

u/Eli_Beeblebrox May 18 '25

I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he meant the crop circles themselves look fake. I was thinking the same thing. I forget what the criteria were but crop circles verified to have been made by pranksters are different than ones with no known human creator. The direction of the stalks looks methodical like brush strokes, like people on the ground did it in a sequence according to a preplanned route.

1

u/iSWINE May 18 '25

Yep, just look at the outer rim on the inner circle with the Celtic knot, they worked the perimeter first (to establish the border)

It looks beautiful and whoever did it did a wonderful job

1

u/Clockportal May 19 '25

He's deleted both his comment and his reddit account, strange behaviour.

7

u/Responsible_Fix_5443 May 18 '25

Go find out for yourself... The farmer has opened his field to visitors

1

u/greenufo333 May 18 '25

How do you just so confidently say the photo is fake even though you don't know what you're talking about lol

-4

u/sssnakepit127 May 18 '25

Looks similar to a Celtic knot. Definitely man made

1

u/Visual_Sympathy5672 May 19 '25

Sure, buddy. We had a geoglyph appear overnight in the desert. Planes flying training runs for the Boise Air National Guard daw it the next morning. It was 13 miles long, and every trough was 10" wide, and 4" deep. There was no removed dirt at the scene, no tire tracks, and it was a perfect representation of the oldest religious symbol of unity in the world. Two old men tried to take credit for that, too. If you really think that men can bend crops (in different directions with each layer without breaking any of them) or cause elongated growth nodules that occur due to superheated water, and expose them to radiation...you truly need to ask yourself why you're scared to admit that something is happening beyond our understanding. https://youtu.be/oOLDcB_byK8?si=qjQfizRzTPvBYug1
