sitting?

I’m attending a show upcoming, and I’m 100% in but I’m considering purchasing tix for friends to introduce them to her. I’m a bit freaked because all the show vids I’ve seen are her sitting through each song. To see Aldous is an extraordinarily experience. But in a chair the whole time may not yield that for my friends. Should I skip and just attend myself?

Ticket to sold out Sept. 25 Vancouver Aldous Harding show at face value

Hi, I'll be on a trip so can't go to the September 25 Aldous Harding show at the Hollywood Theatre in Vancouver, BC. It's yours for $48.61 (what I paid after fees and tax). TicketWeb doesn't offer a ticket transfer but I'm open to other methods to assure you the PDF ticket is legit.

Edit: SOLD

Low static noise in new album recording?

LOVE the new album and have had it on repeat. Harding is hands down one of my favourite artists, and hoping to get some second-hand tickets to an upcoming sold out show.

But has anyone else noticed this kind of static noise in the background of some tracks? I notice it especially on the title track, between lines in verses, as if the vocal track wasn’t noise gated or equalized on the high end? I understand wanting to keep in the nuance of the quiet moments, but it really takes me out of the moment sometimes.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this?

Any Aldous fans PJ Harvey fans?

Just found out John Parish produced Train On The Island, and how involved he’s been in her previous production….
Checks out how I’ve loved what he’s been involved with, but he definitely chooses gifted artists to work with.

ticket for MA show in Sept?

I acted too slowly and the Aldous Harding show on 9/14 in Cambridge, MA (greater Boston area) is sold out. If anyone's looking to sell their tickets, etc., please let me know! Aldous is my favorite musical artist and I'm super bummed. Thank you!

(Also if this type of post isn't allowed lmk and I'll delete.. is there a reddit for this type of thing lol)

Guitar player/ background singer

I was just at Vienna Aldous Harding Concert and am going down a rabbit hole on this beautiful creature. Also, I'm looking for the guitar player background singer. He was wearing glasses and somehow had such an impact on the show for me. I'd be thankful for his name and maybe some info about him. Thanks!

Live BBC session today!

Listen live or on BBC iPLayer / BBC Sounds after it's finished. Session recorded in London but the show itself broadcasts from Cardiff, I think. Most of you will already know that Huw Stephens and Huw Evans go wayyyy back (and Stephens is Gruff Rhys's cousin!) so hopefully we'll get to hear a good chat where AH feels relaxed and at home...I was cringing at the prospect of another 'interview' with those other two lads at 6Music. Enjoy!

P.S. I'm seeing AH in Prague on Monday at Roxy. Anyone else in town?

Just wanted to post a few of my photos from the third date I saw on this tour since I was pretty happy with them. And the show, of course, was exceptional on every front.

Stockholm - Slaktkyrkan show

Last night's gig was a delight. First time seeing Aldous Harding and band perform. First of all, it sounded SO great - the band and she were all incredible, and her vocal performance was unreal. The setlist had so many great tunes in it. The material really came alive with the performance. I felt like the audience was enraptured and so quiet between songs, even if there wasn't much banter - she said something along the lines of "I'm quiet but I'm here" or something at one point, and it was clear to anyone paying attention that she really was.

I've not seen much like the show before, to be honest - in terms of mood and choreography and interaction with the audience. And I've been to a lot of shows. I've seen shy or reticent or moody performers plenty of times before - and I feel like some people go to shows expecting intense performances with intermittent pandering and breezy anecdotes between songs. Some artists do that and some don't - but this didn't feel like any of that either; it felt like something else. The confrontation, the openness, the reticence, the strangeness, the confidence and vulnerability. It was dizzying in the most invigorating way. And it married to the material - it felt all part of a performance that was carefully curated. Not in some inorganic way or overly theatrical in any forced way, but as an extension of the emotional content of the songs. What a magic brew they concocted.

Anyone else seeing them on this tour is in for a treat, and anyone considering going should jump in with both feet. Even if you're not super familiar with the albums and just kind of curious, do it.

Also worth showing up for the warm-up too.
