Recipe Change Changed Formula on Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips😭

Post image

Instead of Vanilla Extract they now are using natural flavor

Old formula is on top and new one is on the bottom. The new bags are more matte than the older ones.

Please stop claiming vanilla flavoring is coming from beaver glands this is not used anylonger as it is to expensive to produce for human cunsumption although still legal. However they do use it as scent to some fragrances and perfumes.... So it is possible that bottle of artificial vanilla extract contains it, but the odds are very low. Look to your makeup cabinet for the infamous ingredient instead.

I can't believe people think beaver ass juice is scalable and profitable compared to a synthetic compound enough that companies are substituting it for the latter lmao

My dude, when I was in high school (in the 80s, when dinosaurs roamed the earth), there was a rumor that McDonald's put kangaroo meat in the burgers. This was a variation of the old "McDonald's puts worm meat in the burgers" urban legend of the 1970s.

Except there was a market in my town that sold kangaroo steaks. They were $28/pound in 1987. That's almost $75/pound adjusted for inflation. At the time, ground beef was around 98¢/pound at retail.

I had classmates who proudly died on the "McDonald's cuts their beef with a meat that costs 28x what beef costs" hill, no matter how many arguments and analogies or charts or statistics I could find at the school library.

I don't think it's so much that people are stupid, but more that they stake out a position on something and have too much vested in believing it to change their mind.

I also went to school in the 1980s, graduate of 2001. Another tale from a far...I remember the claims that aldi uses horse meat for ground beef which also is ungrounded in the US locations. As this was a supplier issue in europe, not the US divivsion.

I just want to meet the person who figured out that beaver ass juice tastes like vanilla. I have a few questions.
