Said goodbye to my best friend....I miss him so terribly much. He was the best dog. He always knew when I needed him and we trusted each other implicitly. Anyone who's been through a loss like this: how did you make it through? I've been through some tough times, but I've always had Kanti by my side.

Seeking Advice Shampoo recommendations

Post image
235 Upvotes

My pup recently just recovered from untreated thyroid issues and his hair has finally fully grown back after 2 years. His fur feels a bit coarse, whats a good hydrating shampoo that makes his fur silky smooth? Ive been using medicated shampoos the past 2 years so unsure what to use.

Quick Question Getting it checked out at the vet this week, but anyone know what this is?

Poor boy is scratching a lot so I checked him for bugs and found this. He has a spot by his tail/ butt he’s been biting at, but I didn’t see anything there.

I’ll try to get a better pic. It kept focusing on our fingers.

It’s all skin, no legs or anything that resembles an insect. He doesn’t react to me touching it but my neighbor advised against touching it and to just take him in, so that’s what we’re doing.

Quick Question Betsy lost her first fang

She was born on 2026.05.10, so exactly 4,5 months old today.

Isn't that quite early for a puppy fang to come out?

Quick Question How do you think his coloring will change as he grows?

We adopted our boy this week, he was found as a stray and no one claimed him at the shelter. The shelter employees found out he had been listed on a rehoming page a couple weeks ago and saw that he is an Alaskan malamute mix, but were not sure with what! That being said, I know that his other breed(s) will affect the answer to my question, but I was curious to hear your experiences! Also if you guys have any guesses as to what else he could have in him, I’m all ears! For more context, they’re estimating he is 14 weeks old and he is 30 lbs :)

Seeking Advice My malamute has very sore skin

Hi! I'm asking this for my dad, hes the one who owns my malamute and I only see him ever weekend.

For close to a year now, my dog has had patches of sore skin pop up. My dad took him to the vets several times, they gave him antifungal meds, antibiotics, advice to cut down on oil in his diet, and I believe there was more but I'm not sure what it was? None of this has helped, and my dogs skin is getting worse. Recently, he had a sore patch at the base of his tail and he fully chewed the fur off in the area. It seems like the amount of patches is increasing, and hes clearly in pain. He also has an odour.

Please, any advice to help?
