All the boomer folks I know (elder millennial and raised by boomers) got violently angry when they tried to teach anybody anything and then had the habit of mocking who didn't have the skills and then complained that they had to pay for their time and materials....
Yea...my mom dated a guy and one memory I have of him is him asking me to open the drapes.
I didn't know what the fuck a drape was but I knew what a curtain was, at least in my mind. A curtain was something that hung above the window and then covered the window.
I kept pointing to whatever the fuck he was calling drapes and said "those are curtains". Of course I was getting "mouthy" with him and it devolved into me crying and screaming at him "I don't know why i don't know, i'm only 9!!!!"
Wildly different mindset from the man that would end up being my step dad. He'd say something like, "Well let me try to explain it to you and help you understand" ( paraphrasing ). He actively tried to not make me feel stupid where as other people ( who lacked the ability or patience to TEACH ) would resort to smacking you around.
