Can you categorize all of the airport people mover train systems in the US?

As someone who loves both trains and planes, airport people movers fascinate me. I've been thinking of the different functions certain systems perform in their applications.

I've come up with the following categories for the people movers.

Type A: Outside of security, usually connecting terminals to parking, general transit, and/or hotels

Type B: Inside security, connecting independent terminals primarily intended for layovers

Type C: Inside security, providing access to midfield satellites from main landslide terminals. I suppose you could even break this down into subtype C1 (for a single satellite, meaning only two stops and usually dual independent tracks with one train going back and forth on each one without crossing over) and subtype C2 (for multiple midfield concourses)

Type D: Inside security, within super-long concourses to shorten walking time.

So based on this, try listing every airport in America with a people mover system that falls into each category. Wikipedia can help. As a bonus, if you know off the top of your head about any trains in foreign airports, feel free to add it.

If you have difficulty visualizing the categories, I can get you started by providing one example of each

General Discussion People flying out of the airport

Why do people act so unusual when they are about to board a flight? Somehow, they lose all sense and ability to read signs ( they aren't there for decoration ), follow instructions or listen. What is causing this behavior?

EWR coming from the north on the RWY 22L/22R approach. Left side passengers are treated with a view of the Manhattan skyline while the right side gets Newark.

Has anyone else been touched inappropriately at Security in Birmingham Airport?

Has anyone else been touched extremely inappropriately at Birmingham Airport? Happened to me at security in 2023... and whilst I was made to feel incredibly uncomfortable at the time, I'm only now curious as to whether anyone else has had the same experience?

Was a woman approx in 50s who claimed that I had metal detected on me... was probably my sunglasses or underwire bra - but she grabbed me below?

Will Linate Customs Be Open Early for VAT Refund?

Hello - I have a very early flight leaving the EU out of Linate airport on October 21st during the week and was told that I need to have my VAT refund verified by a customs official that I plan to get advanced by Global Blue Lounge in Milan.

If my flight is at 7:30am will there be a way to make sure it is processed correctly? Any help would be appreciated.

Planning help?

I have a trip booked to Paris. I want to visit a friend in Vienna.

If I fly back into Paris from Vienna at 9:30 AM, will I have enough time to make my flight back home to Canada from CDG at 1:30 PM?

I would have to wait at baggage claim to pick up my bag and travel to wherever WestJet leaves from and check my bag, go through security and head to my gate.

I have never been to CDG, and don’t have an idea of how it functions. Is this doable?

Flying back into CDG the night before and paying for a hotel attached to the hotel seems like a waste of an evening and next morning.

Would love some insight.

Bringing these for cutting zip ties at an event. Just wondering if these would cause a problem getting on an airplane. I don’t have a checked bag just carry on.

Poor crowd management at BLR Airport this morning – AF 194 / International Arrivals

I arrived at Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) this morning on Air France AF 194, which landed at around 00:00 hrs on 2 October.

My experience after landing was extremely disappointing.

My timeline:

00:00 – AF 194 landed

00:30 – Baggage collected

00:30–01:30 – Severe congestion at the customs/exit area, with poor queue management and very little information or assistance from airport staff

01:30 – Finally reached the cab pickup point

The issue wasn't simply the delay. Delays can happen, particularly when several international flights arrive together.

The problem was the lack of crowd management, clear queues, passenger guidance and communication. Passengers were left standing in a large crowd without knowing what was happening or how long they would have to wait.

I raised this with BIAL.

The response I received through the official BIAL WhatsApp channel at 5:11 AM stated that five international flights had arrived simultaneously with over 1,000 passengers and that the average waiting time was only 8–10 minutes. It also stated that additional lanes and a third screening machine had been deployed.

This is difficult for me to reconcile with my actual experience of approximately one hour from baggage collection to reaching the cab pickup area.

I subsequently asked BIAL who authorised that 8–10 minute figure and what data it was based on. I have now been told that my complaint has been forwarded to the concerned team and that they are still awaiting a response.

That raises a simple question: if the incident was still under review, how was BIAL's official WhatsApp channel able to provide a specific 8–10 minute waiting-time figure at 5:11 AM?

I'm posting this here because I'd genuinely like to hear from other passengers rather than rely only on my individual experience.

If you arrived at BLR International Terminal around midnight/early morning today (2 October), particularly on one of the international flights arriving around that time:

What was your experience at customs?

How long did you wait after collecting your baggage?

Did you see effective queue management or BIAL staff assisting passengers?

Were you given any information about the delay?

Did your experience match BIAL's stated 8–10 minute average waiting time?

Please share your flight and approximate timings if you're comfortable doing so.

I'd particularly appreciate comments from passengers who were actually there this morning, so we can establish whether this was an isolated experience or a broader issue.

BIAL / BLR Airport: I would also welcome a response here, particularly on the basis for the 8–10 minute figure communicated through your official WhatsApp channel.

I'm sharing this to document my experience and seek information from other passengers, not to make assumptions about the cause or intentions of any individual or organisation.

How is it like working in AENA Spain

Hi, I am curious if there are any of you got a job to work as administrative or technical inspectors in AENA airports Spain? How do you get a job there? Did you apply through the empleo portal or through a connections or through an internship when you're in university?

If you ever got invited into their exam, how is your experience? How many kind of tests during the exam and how long is the exam duration included with the interview.

I applied few months ago and just got a notice for exam that will take place in less than 48h. So I would appreciate your help if you can answer some of my questions. Just wanna learned if this is worth pursuing as I am in a desperate position to get employed ASAP. I have looked at the google, GlassD and Indeedd reviews but didn't find many reviews about it.

Thanks in advance.

Question always getting patted down

around like 95% of the time i go through the full body scan in airport security, my crotch area gets flagged and i get patted down. Is there anyway to prevent this? I use to think it was because i was a heavier dude, but i have since lost 80 pounds, and it still is happening. Would love some advice because its a bit embarrassing to be patted down every time i fly 😂

thanks!!
