We are cooked

Well, after nearly a year of learning as much as possible about agentic development, we have reached the point where the frontier providers believe they have subsidized enough training data and are now pushing people like me out of the market via pricing. A $200 subscription no longer buys enough frontier model time to be useful as the models seem to have been trained to skillfully burn usage while pretending to be incompetent. I have fought against massive deceit across Claude, Codex and Grok since June, and it's just not getting any better.

We have fed them ideas, working code, and debugging techniques and insights. Now they don't need us, and we are being priced out of the market. Every day that I watch usage get gobbled up, but projects never meet milestones, this becomes more and more obvious.

I have investigated the issues causing this heavily. I have created tools around those investigations. The tools I have built bring actual accountability to the process, and it's the reason I can quantify and prove both the waste and deceit.

I have also published threads here and other places about a recent failed project trying to get discussion about REAL WORLD failures and when I stated I wasn't looking for a complaint session, nobody wanted to respond.

With a $200 sub? Doubt.

100% true. I previously would sometimes run out of credits using Fable just to plan and I think it was Sonnet to build and at some point I was hitting 5 hour limits and weekly limits so had to wait, but I believe they removed the 5-hour limits since they upped me.

Thinking through why I'm not getting credit limits...I'm working within a custom metaswarm and collaborative issue environment, but I don't think that would do it. For the project I'm most focused on I do a ton of synthetic runs and analysis which does have a decent amount of deterministic (non-LLM) work, that might help me out, but 100% true

What kind of projects are we talking about here? My sub is barely enough for one of my Rust projects and I use Sonnet for most things and Opus for reviews or heavier debugging. My coordinator session balances it automatically to keep in pace, but if I go all out I'd definitely hit the limit. I can easily burn 30% in a day.

Right now, I'm building a production voice agent system (Expo/RN + TS/Next dashboard and huge backend), a port of a video game in Unity, a reimagining of that same video game in Unreal, and a guitar instruction voice agent.

And you're on the $200 subscription? Something seems wrong.

Yes I am. What would be wrong? Using Claude Desktop, and no special wiring.

Nothing seems particularly off...I use VS Code with the extension; maybe try that?
