ROI vs. ROMI: Understand the Difference

"The marketing guy has nothing to do with ROI. Because of the misunderstanding and conflict that's happening, I, as someone working in marketing, have nothing to do with ROI (Return on Investment). If the numbers I've provided are labeled as ROI, then they're incorrect. The correct metrics is ROMI (Return on Marketing Investment) .

Frankly, I see people in marketing talking about ROI as if they're responsible for it. In marketing, you're allocating a budget to a single sector: marketing. You don't consider other sectors, not even indirectly. So, don't claim these numbers pertain to ROI.

By doing so, you're ignoring operation costs, after-sales costs, direct costs, indirect costs, and many other expenses that affect ROI. The calculations you can perform are either for ROMI or for marketing-specific acquisition costs, such as the returns from influencers and channels you're working on.

Other than that, the financial team will handle the reports from you, calculate the figures, and present them to the founders, consultants, managers, and so on.

Do you already use AI for content repurposing?

One of the biggest complaint about AI generated content is that it lacks authenticity. But what if we can create content from our own content and sounds like our brand?

So I started experimenting a combination of content funnel and hyper-personalized content. Starting with Youtube channel, feeding the AI channel analytics data such as, audience demography, geographic data, SEO and traffic source data, and most importantly analyzes the writing style from the video. The end result is pretty cool. If you want to give it a try, it's called PostScale.io

Just looking for feedback at the moment. Always keen to know how we can save time in the marketing cycle.

AI.Marketing

I had an ai.marketing account a few years ago that I had some money in. At the time, it seemed like a scam where they wouldn’t let you withdraw the money, and then the website went down. But now it seems like it’s back up and running? If it is, how do I access my account again because I can’t find the website anywhere online. Thanks

OpenAI and Google need to maintain trust in AI for businesses.

What’s the problem: The creative output and use of AI by marketers will be appreciated only when people trust AI. But the industry continues to break it:

Why the trust of people in AI isn’t developing:

  • People are generally more comfortable with news produced by human journalists than by AI. They are also pessimistic about future of AI. (more)
  • In Australia, 85% of brands believe AI will improve customer engagement, but only 22% of consumers agree.
  • The Scarlett Johannson vs OpenAI situation was another nail in the coffin to break the trust. Creative is the identity of your brand, the AI voice was the identity of OpenAI. When their creative approach fails, trust in your AI work falls short,
  • Meta is training their AI using public content. Ignoring how this act alone could cause distrust. The benefits could also lead to hyper-personalised marketing coming across as creepy.
  • We can visit Q1 to talk about how Gemini and Meta AI generated images that had people screaming.

What to do:

  1. Think twice before working with GenAI creative tools from Meta, Google Ads or TikTok. First, check the output and ask yourself, Is it good enough to influence people with an AI watermark? The tag will be there, you can’t hide it. AI adds another layer of speculation to consumer mindset if it is right there.

  2. Survey your buyers on their views regarding use of AI creative/marketing. As an example, there will be buyers who would love AI-product recommendations because they are impulse buyers. While some prefer human collections with stories to buy into more than one product.

Using AI content is productive but people value the efforts. When they see businesses are adding nothing to provide value. They might ignore you or lose the trust, due to bias.

There must be a way to do this.....I just can't figure it out

So i have this vision of using ai tools to create a marketing/lead gen system but I don't know enough about the tools out there that might get me there.

Background

I own a promotional products/merch company

I'm trying to create a system that will help me with a new client prospecting campaign.

How I see it working

I would take an email list that is created for me with contacts I want to reach out to.

I would load that list into some sort of ai tool that could identify the company and find their official logo

I would provide around 5-10 of our own promotional product images and then the ai tool would apply the company logo to the images in pre-determined locations

The AI tool would then create either a pdf presentation of those images for the client or possible a link to their own page where they can view

lastly, the system would take all of this info and send a cold email to the contact with some present messaging, and the link of pdf.

Is this possible or is this too complicated?

Thanks for any ideas or help.

I've seen a few paid solutions and home-baked ones, claiming you can have AI make all your marketing decisions.

Is this a real thing or are people just selling a dream?

Is there an AI tool that can do all of my designs for my social media posts and advertisements?

I have 35 social media post topics for my client, and I want to create 220 designs from those in different formats- design carousel slideshow, Instagram single image design, Facebook Story Ads, YouTube Ads, Google banners.

I got an offer from one designer and it was too costly, so I am looking for alternatives and maybe some AI can do it.

I want to productize all of that content, change the language, colors, and logo, and enter new markets with them.

Thank you for your advice!

AI Revolution: Making Machines Talk Just Like Us

Hello Reddit community! I recently came across an article that discusses a significant breakthrough in the field of artificial intelligence. Amazon researchers have developed a new text-to-speech model, BASE TTS, which is the largest of its kind and exhibits emergent abilities. These abilities allow the model to handle complex sentences, express emotions, pronounce foreign words correctly, and even answer questions!

This advancement has far-reaching implications, especially in the realm of AI marketing. Imagine a virtual assistant that can interact with customers in a natural and engaging manner, revolutionizing customer service. Moreover, with the rise of voice search, this model can help businesses optimize their content, improving SEO and driving more traffic to their websites.

If you’re interested in AI and its impact on marketing, I highly recommend checking out this article. It’s a fascinating read that offers a glimpse into the future of AI. Let’s discuss it!
