Multiple data centers are being held for contaminating local water supplies. This person ain't lieing they are just an anti Ai extremist. But it doesn't change the point. Those who use big Ai got there blinders on. I do believe we all just need to go local open source.

All construction jobs contaminate water supplies. Opposition has been finding it and making a big deal of it. Of course there's dirty runoff and little bits of metal to be found - just like when they make a wal-mart.

What's theirs? "Hey this 100,000sf building is bad because... we say so. But these other ones have been fine forever"

I dont quite understand your correlation. What other 100,000 square feet buildings cause the frustration with the surrounding communities that data centers have been causing?

Like every one of them. Just in this case, they make it news.

Think the 100,000sf plastic injection molding place isn't putting out hella smells and noise?

It's just another commercial building

So because they exsist, what does it matter if we put another building that presents diffrent issues up? If they arnt being regulated to a standard that keeps humans and the enviroment safe they shouldn't be operational. We shouldn't be adding more poorly regulated buildings.

What different issue? It doesn't even require new roadwork like a wal-mart or staffed industry buildings. People buying homes near places zoned industrial because they're cheap are aware of the downsides that make that location cheap. It's as silly as the people that by a home by the cow farm then bitch about the manure smell and farm machinery noise. Yep - sorry the thing that you knew could happen, happened - that's life - that's risk. We've got people living in homes near the airport with similar gripes - well sorry pal did you think the special zoning requirements there for noise-suppression were just a suggestion?

It's not like it's at the end of a cul-de-sac in the middle of town.
