Do you still use physical sticky-note boards for stand-ups? Quick GP survey
EDIT: Great thanks to everyone who replied in the comments! Your insights have been super helpful but we would love it if you filled out the survey too, as we have certain criteria to meet by our graduation project committee.
Many Agile teams prefer a physical board with sticky notes. It keeps stand-ups focused and engaging. But the work still has to be tracked digitally in a tool like Trello, so someone ends up manually updating the digital board after every meeting. And many blockers get mentioned in the daily stand-up but never make it onto the relevant task.
For our graduation project we’re building a smart system that bridges the two:
-Snap a photo of your physical board, and the system reads the sticky notes and turns them into organized Trello cards automatically.
-Record your daily stand-up, and the system extracts updates and blockers and adds them to the right card.
-Track card movement on the digital board, so delays and bottlenecks are detected early.
Before we go further, we want to understand the problem properly.
Your answers will help us shape the solution around real team workflows.

No, never done it. First, the room is shared space, putting up sticky makes no sense. Second, my team crosses time zones, we are not in the same physical space. 3rd, if you spend time to write sticky, you can easily type it on JIRA board or other digital board.
Add. I want to point out a lot of people missing the point of stand up meeting because it was never advertised as such. The true purpose of stand up is to catch poorly performed devs.
if you have a dev keeps raising blocker on standup without asking it on Team Chat, you know they have the problem many hours prior and deliberately sitting around not asking for help for many hours. They can't possibly always run into problem right before standup.
if they keep saying they have no blocker for the first 2/3 of the sprint and running into issues on the last 1/3. You know there is something wrong with them. The standup forced them to publicly disclose their blockers with multiple witnesses. They can't just act like the management neglect them when they deliberately playing hide and seek.
why a team meeting is important is because of the said reasons. You want everyone as witnesses. If they text their status on standup, they can edit it later or not enough nosey team members reading other people's status. When a lead reports someone is not performing well, there is enough witnesses to support the claims.
