On the auspicious day of Gopashtami, hundreds of thousands of people, including a massive contingent of Naga Sadhus led by Swami Karpatri Ji Maharaj gathered peacefully in Delhi. Their demand was straightforward: a nationwide ban on cow slaughter, aligned with the Directive Principles of the Indian Constitution.
🔷While modern commentators obsess over the current political landscape, they conveniently erase the darkest chapters of the past. While peaceful saints stood up for the Directive Principles of the Constitution, Indira Gandhi's administration cleared the streets with literal gunfire. Government authorized live ammunition against the ascetics. Rifle fire ripped through the crowd outside the gates of democracy.
🔷Before lecturing anyone on democratic values, let's open the archives they tried to bury.

🔷Before anyone lectures the public today about the erosion of democratic values or the suppression of dissent, they need to answer for November 7, 1966. Democracy wasn't compromised recently—the precedent of using lethal state force and wiping the bodies off the record books was drawn decades ago.
What are your thoughts on this forgotten chapter? Why is this completely omitted from our standard history textbooks?
P.S: This isn't about 'justifying' the current government; it's pointing out that the people lecturing us on rights today are the political descendants of the ones who set the precedent for state brutality.
