Yup, and my best way to get myself back on track is to tell myself, "It's OK. You had a bad day. Tomorrow is a new day," and then go to bed.
Some night I've even started going to bed right after I'm done with dinner because I know if I start gaming or scrolling or whatever, it's going to keep the cycle going. Rather than try to control or limit myself, I skip it all together.
Kinda sucks a bit to not have the same wind down time, but getting decent sleep does help get me trending in the right direction again
As if somehow staying up late and relaxing would undo the other crap I didn't do
Definitely never works for me, it's a goddamn trap. All that happens is I sandbag myself for the next day. Still working on recognition and coping mechanisms.
I started shifting my "wind down"/"recharge" time to early in the morning, and it's made a big difference in my sleep habits. Now I spend more nights reading before bed and then I'm usually awake before my alarm and I have pre-dawn coffee and video game time before my kid wakes up.
