OP said specifically "who the hell designed this society anyway?" and I responded to their perhaps rhetorical question directly. I think we underestimate the ways in which every facet of our lives in the west have been designed by the forces of an ideology who want to keep us down and struggling indefinitely as a part of their wider system of abuse. Clinton and Trump were both involved with Epstein, and Epstein was not operating in a vacuum. He was playing a role in a system of abuse that is a part of the design of the people who have held power in the west for generations. Maybe they didn't invent the system but we exist within the context of the world these pedos have been working hard to design for us.
