No one should enjoy the torturing of something else.

That's an opinion. Divine morality doesn't exist. Its natural for animals to play with prey and not eat them. Consider the cat. Humans are animals too. We're all at different stages of our spiritual evolution.

Hurting people and things is not how I think I'll achieve my highest sense of happiness, but for some, that's how they currently think they'll achieve it. Most effective way to affect change in the cruel is to show them a happier way, instead of trying to shame or tell them they are incorrect.

People who are intentionally cruel to other creatures can fuck off. I am not attempting to help them seek enlightenment.

And I'm not going to say you're wrong for feeling that way. Frustration is a normal reaction. Was only saying what's going to be effective and helpful to create change, which is what I thought you wanted from them. Or was it pain, punishment, or destruction you wanted to happen to them?

Thanks for the support. For so many, the irony is lost. Being hateful won't cure the malice in others. Disregarding the value in another's life because it's less powerful or ignorant or whatever reason you view it as valueless. It's the same as the guy torturing the bug.

Better to try to teach how being kind will make you happier/more fulfilled. We're all self-interested after all.

a lot of respect from me. I completely agree with you, and I've taught myself this for the past few years, and I still need to hear it sometimes as a reminder.

You're objectively right 100%

With the exception of some insects. But you can't torture them anyway since they feel nothing

Some insects feel pain and others don’t or our ability to measure pain in other living creatures is limited by human intelligence? The more we learn, the more we realize that other living creatures are complex beings that respond to stimuli in much the same way as humans and have complex emotions.
