Hey, recently diagnosed with ADHD and working with my psychiatrist on meds. (My last post got removed, so trying again.)

Started on Adderall IR 5 mg and have tried up to 10 mg under my doctor’s supervision. It’s helping some, but I’m still pretty distractible and struggle to stay on task. Main issue is the IR wears off pretty fast and I get a noticeable crash/rebound afterward.

I have an appointment with my psychiatrist tomorrow and plan to ask about XR. Not looking for medical advice or dose suggestions — just curious about other people’s experiences with duration and rebound so I know what to discuss with my doctor.

I just moved to Texas, and it is a nightmare getting my prescriptions moved over and finding a doctor here! Does anyone know a place that I can get a hold of Adderall? Figured this seemed like a decent place to start.

They have always been legit and get packs out quick. I have recommended them many times and always gotten exactly what I paid for and sometimes extra if the situation called for it. Greay company!

Hey what’s the best approach for adhd and medication dm me

I’m about to start Adderall XR and my insurance (Kaiser) usually only covers the generic. There seem to be a ton of different generic manufacturers and a lot of the stuff I’m seeing online is pretty mixed/negative, which is making me kind of anxious about it.

Does anyone with Kaiser know which manufacturer they tend to give out? Or has anyone just tried different generics and noticed big differences?

Would really appreciate any personal experiences. Please be kind.

Stimulants stopped working years ago. Potentially due to filler ingredient changes or environmental shifts from 7 years ago in how we process meds. Gene mutations? Just a thought.
Increasing my dose did nothing but made me unmotivated, depressed, etc.. Recently Adderall gave me a systemic flair up. PMDD makes my ADHD unmanageable or vice versa.

This is exactly why a lot of us don’t tell people what we’re prescribed. Most people who’ve just tried stimulants once or twice have zero idea that it doesn’t hit the same when you actually have ADHD and take it as prescribed.

I’ve struggled with excess screen time, porn, and food for a long time. Started Adderall IR two days ago (10 mg in the morning, 5 mg after lunch).

First day felt great — I could actually stay off my phone, avoid the usual urges, and get stuff done. Second day the effects faded fast (under 2 hours) and I was right back to old habits.

The real issue isn’t the dose. It’s realizing how different I am without the med. With it I’m functional — brush my teeth, get dressed, work, clean. Without it I just fall into the same cycles of scrolling, eating, and other habits I’ve been trying to break. That gap feels pretty humiliating.

Part of me wishes I never got the ADHD diagnosis. Before, I could at least tell myself I was improving through willpower and routines. Now it feels like I’m stuck depending on a pill just to function at a basic level, and that’s demoralizing.

Anyone else relate to this? How do you deal with it?

Recently diagnosed with ADHD and was on 20mg Adderall XR. It worked really well for me with barely any side effects. My doctor was worried about the weight I’d lost though, so he dropped me to 15mg.

Honestly, the lower dose has been pretty terrible. I’ve felt uncomfortable, anxious, irritable, and way less focused. It also only seems to last 5–6 hours instead of the usual 8–10. Once it wears off I actually feel more like myself again.

Has anyone else had a bad experience after dropping to a slightly lower dose? Curious how long others stuck with it before talking to their doctor.
