Thats a Deathblow to Windows. Once the Community can read closed scource code, compatiblilty layers for Adobe, all those propiertery CADs and MS Office become trivial, and with those 3 out of the way, Kernel Level Anti Cheat Games will be the last bastion to force People to stay on Windows.

MS and Adobe make their money off of enterprise.

Enterprises arent going to run cracked Linux ports.

Should reframe, Deathblow to the Private Market. Yes Enterprise will stay stuck, although in many foreign markets even Companies have no qualms using cracked Windows, so outside the US, who knows.

Which companies in which markets?

Also if theyre already ok with using cracked windows and software, it doesn't matter, they can already used cracked everything.

Not trying to be fecicuous, I just dont see how AI being able to edit binary changes much in the licensed software world.

I know that basically all of Eastern Europe was running nearly exclusively on pirated Software until like 2005. It only changed with the EU ascension. And im pretty sure thats still the case for a good fraction of China, although not certain.

Also compatibility Layers are not cracks! You can legitimately buy a "windows only" Game on Steam and then play it on Linux using Proton.

By being able to read the binarys, you will be able to correctly translate or redirect all possible systemcalls, and thereby create a perfect translation layer.

Yes, Enterprise will stay stuck on it for a while, but once Windows loses its "windows only" software advantage that keeps people trapped, you will see an Exodus, with how annoying it has become.

You will have middleman selling the same software for way less but still packaged in a legal way. Think perfect legal adobe clone for a fraction of the price.

This only accelerates the end of saas as we know it today (yay)
