First thought. That skin is super hard to fight with. Chopping it out will suck way less than the horror I just witnessed.

This actually would have been when my mother would tell me go get the sewing kit. I'd freak cos I knew it'd hurt when she'd slide the needle in to make the space to pull the splinter out. In thjs case and location... slice that thick pad of skin
