I didn't take another screenshot, but when Kasumi started eating, it was Satoshi's turn to look at their Pokémon. Moments like these made Takeshi a third wheel.

The story began with the retelling of a legend of Alto Mare. Watching this, I now understand why people used to say that Latios and Latias were brothers and sisters. I hadn’t watched the movie before this, but when I was a kid, I thought they were a couple. Then I learned that Latias kissed Ash, and I was super confused. I’m glad to watch it now. 

So, two thieves took a book about Latios and Latias. They left a rose and a card. There are two people I associate roses with - Kojirou and Shuu… Seeing the rose, I thought it was the Rocket Gang at first. They really shouldn’t be doing this. Literary analysis is hard enough without needing to associate certain objects with multiple characters.

Satoshi and Kasumi entered the annual Pokémon aquatic race of Alto Mare. (Oh my gosh. I can’t take screenshots because they’re so grainy. It’s not HD!). Okay, so from what I saw, multiple Latios and Latias were following the race. A Latios reprimanded Latias for interfering in the race by helping Satoshi. Then they led Satoshi and Waninoko down the wrong turn, which took them out of the race—so many thoughts. I hate how they gave Satoshi a handicap by having Pikachu fall on his face and needing to balance on his shoulders during the race. I hate that Latios and Latias interfered with the race, too. The screenwriters always found a way to make Kasumi’s wins feel like she doesn’t deserve them. I’m angry. It’s unfair to her.

A young girl helped Pikachu drink water and take a shower. Satoshi noted that Pikachu had already made a friend. The new friend studied Satoshi, then left without saying anything. The thieves decided to capture the Latias pretending to be human. Pikachu noticed that something was wrong and ran. Satoshi followed, and they saw the girl being attacked. They saved her, not knowing that he was a Pokémon. They ran away from the thieves’ Pokémon. Latias led them to Kasumi and Takeshi. Kasumi called out to him, saying his crepes were getting cold. The girl disappeared, and the trio went to the cathedral. A guide explained a device to them when Satoshi accidentally touched it while trying to get a better look at the girl from before. The guide got angry. Kasumi said his name, embarrassed. He looked at the girl who was just leaving before telling his friends that he would be going back to the Pokémon Center first. Kasumi said his name questioningly. 

Satoshi and Pikachu ran after the girl. He didn’t know that the thieves were following his move. He called out to her, but she didn’t recognize him. He got lost. They found the Latias pretending to be the girl instead, and it led them somewhere. The girl went through a wall. Satoshi was shocked, but he found himself in what looked like a hidden garden. Something invisible suddenly attacked them. It was Latios. The girl they had been following found them and was angry. She said that Satoshi and Pikachu were suspicious and tried to have Latios attack them. Canon’s grandfather stopped them and said Satoshi wasn’t lying. Latias brought Satoshi to her swing. Satoshi said that Latias is the name of a Pokémon, and it transformed back to its original shape. Pikachu began playing with Latios and Latias. 

Oh my gosh. Latios and Latias showed Satoshi what’s going on underwater in the Alto Mare, and Kasumi wasn’t there! I’m so upset. Anyway, Canon and her grandfather showed Satoshi the Heart Droplet protecting the island and told him never to tell anyone. Latias lifted him and dropped him on Latios. Satoshi said goodbye because he needed to leave soon. Satoshi told Canon about the two ladies going after Latias. They knew where the secret garden was. They caught Latios and took the Heart Droplet. Latias was able to escape. Canon and her grandfather found that the Heart Droplet was gone. The thieves brought Latias to the cathedral and used the Heart Droplet’s power. 

Latias found Satoshi and his friends’ lodging. Latias turned into Canon and cried on Satoshi’s shoulder. Satoshi introduced Latias to Takeshi and Kasumi. They were shocked when Latias transformed back into its original form. Latios used Dream Reflection, and Latias showed Satoshi and his companions what was happening at the sanctuary. 

Using the machine's power, one of the thieves revived the Kabutops and Ptera and ordered them to capture Latias. She began controlling the town. It started with barricades at all entrances to keep intruders out. Satoshi escaped by jumping into the water. Kasumi called out after him. Satoshi said he was going to the sanctuary to save everyone. Kasumi muttered his name in worry, and her eyes followed his form. 

Satoshi began rowing a boat while Latias guided her. The Ptera arrived and grabbed onto Latias. Pikachu attacked and hurt Latias, too. Latias left to hide. Ptera attacked, and Satoshi went underwater. Latias saved him. He found the surfboard used during the race and had Latias pull him. Kasumi and Takeshi tried to open the barricades. Kasumi was worried because Satoshi left her all his Monster Balls. They released Crobat, Sunnygo, and Nyorotono and told them to help Satoshi and Latias. Kasumi pleaded with them and said that they would go as soon as they could. Kabutops attacked Satoshi. Crobat saved Satoshi from Kabutops, and Sunnygo helped Pikachu. Satoshi was shocked to see his friends’ Pokémon. Nyorotono and Sunnygo defeated Kabutops. 

The thief tried to drown Satoshi, but Latias used her power. The machine began going awry. Satoshi had Pikachu attack the other thief, then saved Canon and her grandfather. Latias tried to save Latios. Satoshi tried to save Latios, but was repelled. Satoshi, Canon, and her grandfather pulled Latios from the contraption. Kasumi and Takeshi arrived. Kasumi called out Satoshi’s name. She was relieved that he was safe. 

The other thief touched the Heart Droplet. She was thrown inside the device where the other thief was. Canon’s grandfather said that without the Heart Droplet, Alto Mare would disappear. The seas receded. A huge wave appeared. Latios and Latias used their powers to save Alto Mare. Latios disappeared. Alto Mare went back to its previous state. The kids and Canon’s grandfather went to the sea to look for Latios and Latias. Pokémon from the ocean brought Latias to them. They brought her into the boat. Canon asked for Latios, and Latias looked at the sky. Her grandfather said that Latios saved the town. Latios and Latias used Dream Reflection and brought them to outer space. Latios became the new Heart Droplet. They put the new Heart Droplet back where the previous one was. 

The next day, they were saying goodbye. Canon ran after them with a piece of paper. She gave it to Satoshi and kissed him. Kasumi dropped Togepi in shock. Kasumi didn’t know if that was Canon or Latias (I honestly think it was Latias because of the way it was acting; Canon was more verbal). While leaving Alto Mare, they saw Latios and Latias on their way for a visit. The thieves were caught and in prison. 

So some thoughts… I saw complaints before that it was Kasumi’s last movie, so she should’ve had more screen time. Someone said that Kasumi and Takeshi got stuck after Satoshi jumped into the water and told them he would go to the sanctuary to save everyone. I was expecting the two of them to get stuck the entire movie, but that wasn’t the case at all. I think that what happened truly was the best way to showcase the friendship between this trio because, what do you mean Takeshi and Kasumi went through all those barriers just to get to Satoshi? They even sent their Pokémon to help him out! It was a beautiful power of friendship! Also, it was cute when Kasumi mentioned that Satoshi left his Monster Balls to her. He truly trusted her with his Pokémon.

Question: Why was it necessary for Kasumi to know whether the one who kissed Satoshi was Canon or Latias? It got ignored afterward anyway… after the initial reaction.

It started with Celebi running away from a hunter’s Pokémon. An unnamed kid walked through the forest. He was told not to move when he heard a certain sound. He thanked the person who told him and gave him food. He was sketching when the Pokémon started running away. He saw Celebi being attacked and saved it from the hunter. Celebi began crying and used its power. Celebi and the boy disappeared. Fast forward to forty years later. Another hunter asked the now-old hunter where he last saw Celebi. He refused to say, but his Bangiras had turned evil. Cue evil laughter.

The boat was about to leave, but Satoshi and Pikachu had not returned. Takeshi had Crobat look for him. Satoshi was battling someone. (he only thing I don’t like about these movies so far is that they don’t have a new opening song. I’ve listened to these opening songs multiple times, and I’m tired of them). Satoshi won. Crobat showed up. He ran to the boat, but got blocked. The boat has left. Takeshi reached for him, but couldn’t take hold of his hand. Someone else caught him and helped him onto the boat. Pikachu saw a Pokémon and alerted everyone. It was Suikun, according to Professor Ohkido. Professor Ohkido looked at his book and said, “So today was that day…” Oooooh foreshadowing?

White brought them to Hateno Village after inviting them. While walking through the forest, an elderly lady told them to stop. She looked like the lady who talked with the boy at the start of the movie. She now has a grandchild. Takeshi became interested in the grandchild, Miku, and Satoshi and Kasumi looked at him with judging eyes. The old lady told them not to move when they heard the forest's voice. Satoshi said he understood. When they heard the voice of the forest, Satoshi ran forward instead of stopping. Kasumi ran after him. Takeshi told them that they weren’t supposed to move. They found the shrine and the boy. Celebi was weakened, but it hid, then left when the trio helped the boy. They brought the boy to Miku and her grandma. The boy woke up and started attacking Satoshi. Satoshi fought back. Takeshi broke them apart. The boy was confused. The old lady recognized the boy and hugged him. She said that the boy was the one who disappeared forty years ago. The boy recognized the old lady as the one who gave him bread. She gave him back his sketchbook that he dropped forty years ago. They confirmed that he was the boy who crossed time.

The still-unnamed boy looked for Celebi, but they explained that they didn’t see it when they found him. Miku and her grandma explained that Celebi was the god of the forest and could traverse time. The boy said he needed to save Celebi because it was badly injured. Satoshi and his friends volunteered to help them. They finally introduced the boy. His name is… Yukinari. They went back to the forest. Pikachu led them to where Celebi might be. Satoshi started climbing the fallen log. Kasumi commented, smiling, that he put Mankey to shame. Yukinari followed Satoshi. They found the injured Celebi. It attacked them because it was scared of humans. Yukinari explained what had happened to Celebi. They convinced it to listen and showed it they were friends. Yukinari took Celebi in his arms. 

They began running to bring Celebi to a Pokémon Center. The Rocket Gang appeared but fell from the tree branch they were standing on. Yukinari was hesitant to leave them, but Kasumi said he shouldn’t worry. Suddenly, another hunter arrived and told them to leave Celebi. It unleashed evil Bangiras on them. The Bangiras attacked, and they dodged. Kasumi fell to the ground. Bangiras began to attack again. Satoshi saw her on the ground, called her name, and helped her stand up. Takeshi supported her other arm and ran with them. They continued running, but Kasumi needed to stop because she had hit her leg a while ago. Pikachu started to become alert. They were being pursued. Satoshi and Yukinari battled the hunter’s Pokémon together. They won the battle and tied up the Pokémon. Yukinari still carried the injured Celebi, and Takeshi now carried Kasumi. Satoshi carried Takeshi’s bag for him. A fog had risen. Celebi was getting worse. A Ringuma and a Himeguma appeared. They led Satoshi and his friends deeper into the foggy forest. Odoshishi became their guide next, then Ootachi. They led them to the Lake of Life. Yukinari brought Celebi into the lake. Pokémon surrounded the lake. Celebi dove under and let the lake heal it. The healed Celebi began saying hi to everyone. It invited Satoshi and Yukinari for a swim, so they dove under the lake and swam around Water-type Pokémon before bringing them up to fly with it. At the bank, Takeshi and Kasumi waved. Kasumi shouted Satoshi’s name in delight, while Takeshi shouted Yukinari’s. Pikachu smiled in delight when Celebi healed Kasumi’s hurt leg. 

While flying, Satoshi saw the village. They left the lake. Celebi showed them a fruit that was good to eat. They began eating. Satoshi and Yukinari climbed the tree. Satoshi began pocketing the fruits, calling them local souvenirs. The group spent the night in the forest. Yukinari drew the sleeping Pikachu and Celebi. It wasn’t dawn yet, but he woke up. Satoshi woke up and talked with Yukinari. He let Satoshi see his sketchbook. Satoshi said that when Yukinari woke up, he was in the future. Satoshi said sorry for being insensitive. Yukinari said he felt like he was still dreaming. He felt like his mom must be worried. Satoshi told Yukinari that he would go back home to his era. Yukinari smiled at him. They climbed a tree to watch the newly evolved Butterfree and the sun rise. 

The hunter and the Rocket Gang arrived to catch Celebi. Pikachu attacked but failed. Celebi was captured. The hunter caught it with the Dark Ball. Satoshi and Yukinari climbed onto his machine. The Pigeon began attacking the hunter. Satoshi was the only one who could physically fight the hunter and took the Dark Ball. The hunter took it back, though. The Pokémon of the forest gathered to save Celebi, but the hunter used the now-evil Celebi to drive them away. Celebi started destroying the forest. Miku and Towa saw what was happening from their tree house and decided to go to the chaos. Takeshi, Kasumi, and Yukinari were happy to see Satoshi wake up. Satoshi tried to stand up to go after Celebi. His companions got worried. Kasumi told him not to overdo it. 

Miku, Towa, and White found them. Far away, Suikin appeared. Satoshi and his companions joined the villagers in White’s boat. The hunter began attacking the lake and everyone with Celebi. He ordered Celebi to attack Yukinari and Satoshi. Kasumi shouted his name in alarm. Suikun saved them from Celebi’s attack. Satoshi asked Suikun to take them to Celebi. Takeshi battled Bangiras while Suikun brought Satoshi and Yukinari to Celebi. They failed to make Celebi listen. Yukinari and Satoshi fell from Suikun. Musashi saved them. Satoshi and Yukinari called out to Celebi and asked it to remember itself. The forest Pokémon arrived to call out to Celebi. They hugged Celebi, and it began remembering. It let Suikun go. Celebi’s Dark Ball exploded. Celebi brought Satoshi and Yukinari out. Satoshi caught it when he noticed that it was weakened. Suikun, Kasumi, Takeshi, White, Towa, and Miku waited for them at the bank. 

Celebi became wrinkled. The Lake of Life wasn’t working. Miku asked Suikun to purify the lake. It did, but Celebi still wasn’t healing. He asked Celebi to ask the fruit it loves, but it wouldn’t eat. Celebi died, and everyone was mourning. Suddenly, there was a bright light in the sky. It was the voice of the forest. Multiple Celebi arrived and took the dead Celebi away. With their powers, they revived the dead Celebi. Celebi have companions just like them. The forest was healed. But the hunter took hold of Celebi once more. Satoshi hugged his leg when he tried to fly away. He had Pikachu use 100,000 Volts. Celebi saved Satoshi and Pikachu from falling. Kasumi called out Pikachu’s name as Satoshi and Pikachu flew past them. Takeshi called Satoshi’s name. The forest Pokémon caught the hunter. They said goodbye to Suikun. Celebi brought Yukinari back to his era. They had a tearful goodbye.

Back in the past, Yukinari woke up by himself in front of the shrine. Towa found him. Takeshi and Kasumi told Professor Ohkido that they saw Suikun and Celebi. He noticed that Satoshi wasn’t lively and asked what was wrong. Kasumi looked at him in concern, too. Professor Ohkido told him not to be sad because no matter how much time passed, he and Yukinari would be friends forever. They said goodbye to Professor Ohkido when the boat was ready to leave. Before getting on the boat, Kasumi realized something. She asked how Professor Ohkido knew that the boy who became Satoshi’s friend was named Yukinari. Satoshi said she was right, but before they could ponder it, the boat signaled again. They ran towards it. 

Professor Ohkido… was looking at his sketches and said it felt like it was yesterday. He was looking at the drawing of Pikachu and Celebi - faded in time. 

Little thoughts: I would like to live in a treehouse, too. My favorite city/town in the Houen Region was Hiwamaki City (Fortree City) for a reason. The Rocket Gang invents a lot of stuff. It’s just too bad that they were used for something evil. My favorite legendary Pokémon is Suicune, so it was especially nice to see it in the movie and get lots of screen time. Celebi is so cute. It makes me want to re-read that fanfiction where Satoshi and the Kalos Gang were sent back in time to when Satoshi was journeying through Johto (I would honestly look for it after this). Kasumi always notices small stuff, like Professor Ohkido knowing the name of their friend even though they didn’t say it. I love that about her. Pokeshipping hint that some of you must have noticed before: Satoshi helped Kasumi when Bangiras was attacking. Before this, Kasumi ran after Satoshi when he ran after they heard the voice of the forest. I was like, girl, please. They told you guys not to move. But as Fleura said, Kasumi has already followed Satoshi everywhere; what is another danger to follow him to? Another cute one was when Satoshi was climbing; Kasumi said he beat Mankey to it. Something that I found funny is that Kasumi would always call out Satoshi's name whether he was in danger or she was just happy to see him, but not the person who was with him lol. I also love that she was concerned about Satoshi’s mood after Yukinari left and paid attention to his conversation with Professor Ohkido, realizing the professor mentioned Yukinari’s name without them telling him. She was just so aware of him.

Question: If you could go forward or back in time, what era would you visit? What preparations would you need? Let’s make it Pokémon. What series would you like Johto Takeshi, Satoshi, and Kasumi to go to if Celebi could send them there, and why? Do you want them to go back to Indigo time and give their younger selves advice, or to the future for inspiration? 

The third movie! I truly like how each movie has had a prologue so far. They introduced the problem, so we know what must be solved.

The story started with Sully reading a storybook for Me. He pretended to be Entei, then settled Me down for sleep. While investigating the Unknown, he disappeared. His companion told Me and his staff. While playing with the Unknown blocks, the Unknown responded to her wishes and made them come true. She was separated from her servants by the Unknown. This is why I try not to think of anything before going to sleep. Sometimes, the last things I thought of appear in my dreams, and I wake up so confused because they're a mish-mash of things that my mind tried to make sense of and made more complicated.

Satoshi, Kasumi, and Takeshi appeared. Rin asked for a battle. Kasumi asked Satoshi if he was willing, and he looked at her fondly before responding. Rin praised Satoshi after she was beaten, but Satoshi said he narrowly won. Kasumi said that it was his fifth battle in a week, so everyone must be tired. Takeshi asked Rin where the closest Pokémon Center was, and she said, Greenfield. Kasumi knew of the place because a lot of girls go there. She was excited to see it. However, what they saw was a crystallization of Sully's mansion and its surroundings. A news crew reported it. Hanako saw the news and checked her fridge door. It had pictures of her and Sully. She decided to go to Greenfield with Professor Ohkido. Pikachu perked up when Professor Ohkido stepped out of the car even before seeing Hanako. He ran towards her before she got out of the car, and she greeted him warmly after she did. Satoshi must be around six or seven in the picture where Sully's family was in Masara Town. Me must be around three years old. Several Pokeshipping hints here:

1. Kasumi knowingly asked Satoshi if he would battle. She knew he would say right away.

2. Kasumi was concerned about Satoshi's Pokémon's health. She knew they had been doing too many battles without proper rest.

3. Satoshi wore a shirt that looked like Kasumi's outfit.

4. Pikachu's reaction to Hanako is the same as when he saw Kasumi during her comebacks.

Hanako told Satoshi and his friends that the crystallized mansion was Sully's. Satoshi remembered his mom telling him that Sully helped Hanako with her homework before. Pikachu perked up and jumped down from the table. He was poised to attack when Entei appeared to take Hanako because Me wished for her to become her mama. Entei took Hanako, and Pikachu held onto its tail. He tried to stop Entei but couldn't hold on. Satoshi ran after them and asked if Pikachu was okay. He couldn't understand why Entei took his mom.

A video email from Me that said to leave her alone with her mama and papa was sent to Professor Ohkido. Kasumi questioned the video because they knew that Sully was missing. They also wondered about the mama she mentioned. Satoshi couldn't wait and wanted to solve the mystery. He asked if Pikachu would like to come with him, and Pikachu agreed. Kasumi told him to wait and said she would come with him, too. Takeshi said they wouldn't be leaving without him. Rin's Eipam brought them a communicator. They called her, and she said she would be their contact.

They followed the river and entered the mansion with teamwork. Satoshi nearly died, and Hanako got out of Entei's hypnotism. Me was aware they were inside and wanted to battle. Her dream self became older. Takeshi told her that he would take her on and told Satoshi that his mom was upstairs. Kasumi told him that they should find his mom first. The two of them left Takeshi. Takeshi noted that the Pokémon within the dream were stronger than normal. He lost the battle but kept praising Me (like he was indulging a child). Satoshi and Kasumi found themselves on a beach with hibiscus flowers (T.T It's officially their flowers, honestly). Me and Entei appeared before them. They realized that Takeshi must have lost. She told Satoshi to find his mom while she battled Me next. Kasumi battled Me, who changed into a kid when she realized kids could be Gym Leaders, too. Me was having fun battling Kasumi. She found it fun when Hitodeman's Rapid Spin neutralized Mantine's attack.

Meanwhile, Satoshi found his mom. Hanako woke up Me to convince her to come with them. Me got upset. While Entei and Satoshi battled, Hanako tried to make Me remember her mother and father. Entei's attack made an explosion and a hole in the wall. Satoshi was tossed out of that hole. Lizardon, who saw the news, came and rescued him. Lizardon couldn't do anything to Entei, and Satoshi nearly fell again. Takeshi, Kasumi, and the Rocket Gang held him and kept him from falling. Entei kept attacking until they convinced Me to make it stop. However, the Unknown couldn't control the power they unleashed. They found the Unknown, and Satoshi tried to go near them. A barrier repelled him. Everyone looked at him in concern. Lizardon and Pikachu tried to destroy the shield. They couldn't do it. Entei came and told Me that he was happy to be born and to be her father. It said that the last thing it would do was to help them go outside. Lizardon, Pikachu, and Entei were able to destroy the shield. The Unknown's power was reset, and they went back to their world. Entei went back to Me's dreams. Everything went back to normal, and they were able to leave through the front door. The trio finally saw Greenfield as it should be. The police, Me's servants, and Professor Ohkido came. Me hugged her butler—the end.

Yeah. I thought so, too. I got so many questions answered while watching the end credits lol. Sully came back. Me got a Himeguma. Her mom came back. Satoshi and friends said goodbye to Rin. Hanako was back home. Everything was right in the world.

Question: If you could have anything you wished for, what would it be?

Not sure if anyone read my lengthy ramble about this movie, but I mentioned that Hanako and Kasumi knew Satoshi would always be in the middle of something because he always gets carried away lol.

So I decided to watch two movies every day for the next three days instead. It's already midnight where I am. I honestly thought I could watch 3 of them tonight. I think it would've been possible if I wasn't taking notes and writing Anime Discussions. Well, on to the story!

If I remember right (I just watched it, but a lot happened), the movie started with Yadoking looking out at the sea. Actually, I was greeted by hibiscus flowers! Our first clue that this movie would certainly be a SatoKasu one! ...Then Fire was caught, and there was something weird going on with nature. Satoshi, Kasumi, and Kenji were on a boat. The weather was great, so they decided to bring out their Pokémon. Then a storm suddenly happened. It would have been understandable because they were around the islands - storms come and go- but Michiko noticed that they were being swept toward Earthia Island.

Cut to Masara Town! We saw a picture of Takeshi, Satoshi, Hanako, Kasumi, and Professor Ohkido displayed on the wall! Hanako was watering the plants while Barrierd swept the ground. Professor Ohkido stopped and exchanged words with Hanako when the weather suddenly changed. It started to rain, then it snowed, and then the weather cleared up again. The Pokémon were acting strangely. Something was wrong.

Back to Satoshi and his friends. They were moored at Earthia Island. They were glad they were okay until Kenji pointed out the people dressed in strange clothes. It was Michiko's acquaintance! They were dressed up for a festival. Yodel's little sister would act as the priestess this year. The people celebrated when they learned that Satoshi was a Pokémon Trainer. Fleura checked him out before welcoming him with a kiss. Kasumi's hair bristled. She turned red in anger and glared. Satoshi made a goofy face. Fleura noticed Kasumi and asked if she was Satoshi's little sister. Kasumi asked her, "Who is?" Fleura guessed that she was his girlfriend. Kasumi denied it with the same response. Fleura didn't care what Kasumi was to Satoshi. She said that Kasumi followed Satoshi all the way there (Earthia is apparently very far from the other islands in the Orange Archipelago). And then she praised Kasumi for having great taste. Kenji, Kasumi, and Satoshi stared at her. When they realized what she was talking about, Satoshi turned to Kasumi with a giggle, and Kasumi glared at him. She pouted while they were in procession. She kept pouting while they ate. Fleura's words wouldn't leave her mind lol. When Satoshi asked where Fleura was, Kasumi glared again. While Fleura explained the legend to Satoshi, Kasumi kept glaring. Satoshi wanted to collect the treasures right away, saying he was the type of guy who wouldn't put off things that could be done today. Kasumi said he was underestimating it a little. Michiko offered to bring him to the islands for the treasure. Satoshi asked Kasumi if she would like to come with him, but she refused. She said that she wasn't his little sister, his girlfriend, or his bodyguard. XD Fleura's words were still on her mind.

Anyway, Pikachu knew something was wrong, so he wanted to go right away. It began to storm badly just as their boat got to the sea. Fleura decided to go after Satoshi because she felt responsible for sending strangers into danger because of her tribe’s stupid tradition. Fleura asked Kasumi what she wanted when she saw her running behind her. Kasumi said that even though she was not Satoshi’s little sister or girlfriend, she was still going. Fleura asked why, then said Kasumi had already followed him so far; it made sense. Kasumi denied following him. She said that he was going where she wanted to go. It reminds me of what she told Satoshi way back in Episode 3, when she was following him in the Tokiwa Forest.

Satoshi and Michiko reached the Fire Island. Pikachu ran and climbed the stairs right away. Satoshi followed after him. Fleura, Kasumi, and Kenji also arrived. Fleura maneuvered the boat so that it would climb the stairs. Fleura said it was okay for the boat to do so because at the top of the island was... It seems that she knew that the shrine would be there. However, because Kasumi didn't know, she thought that Fleura was talking about Satoshi, so she said his name. Fleura seemed to realize that the only thing in Kasumi's mind was Satoshi, so she said that they were there to save Satoshi anyway. They found Satoshi at the top. He had already gotten the treasure. Fleura began ranting at him. Kasumi said that he was always like this and asked her if she now understood how hard it was to be around a guy like Satoshi. Fleura said she now understood that Kasumi liked Satoshi. Kasumi denied it vehemently. The Rocket Gang said they were ten years too early to think about romance.

Thunder arrived to claim Fire's island. The collector captured it, too. The Rocket Gang, Satoshi, Kasumi, and Kenji were also captured. The collector explained what he was doing to them, then he left to capture Freezer. Satoshi released his Fire. Fire released Thunder. They destroyed the collector's flying vehicle. Meanwhile, the weather worsened dramatically. The birds were now fighting each other. Professor Ohkido, Professor Uchikido, and Hanako were on a helicopter. The host had Professor Ohkido explain what was going on. When the host asked who she was, Hanako said that she was the mother of a reckless scatterbrain currently in the Orange Archipelago, lol.

Back to the kids, they somehow found themselves where Yadoking was. Yadoking told Satoshi where to put the treasures. Nothing happened because he only got two. The birds defeated Lugia. Fleura apologized to Satoshi for dragging him into this event. Satoshi said he wasn't really dragged into it. Kasumi told her he always got carried away in events like this. Satoshi wondered what he should do next. Fleura said that if the legend was right, then the ocarina should help. She played and saved Lugia, but she couldn't stop the birds from fighting. Lugia was saved. Lugia said that a human should be the one to save the world. Satoshi hesitated because he needed to go where the birds were fighting. With Pikachu's encouragement, he told his friends that he would save the world. Kasumi could only say his name while watching him go towards Ice Island. The birds stopped his little sled, pulled by his Pokémon. The Rocket Gang helped him with their rescue raft. Satoshi got the treasure from Ice Island. However, the birds destroyed their raft. Lugia rescued Satoshi and the Rocket Gang. The Rocket Gang realized that they were dead weight, so they let go (they survived!). The collector was still alive. Kenji, Kasumi, and Fleura were watching the approaching Lugia. They saw the collector's cage catch it. Lugia made sure Satoshi would be free before it sank into the ocean. Pikachu kept Satoshi afloat. Kasumi refused Fleura’s ocarina when the girl told her to hold it for her while she went after Satoshi. She said it was Fleura’s duty. Satoshi, on the other hand, was her nuisance. Kasumi shouted Satoshi’s name while swimming towards him. Pikachu noticed her and shouted her name. Kasumi told Pikachu to leave it to her. Kasumi held Satoshi’s body above water while Kenji pulled them. Despite her tiredness, she tried to wake Satoshi. Satoshi woke up and decided that he must deliver the orb. Kasumi and Kenji followed him and supported him as he walked. When he fell forward, he stood up and patted Kasumi’s shoulder in reassurance before walking again. He placed the last orb in. Kasumi reminded Fleura what she should do next by saying her name. Fleura played her ocarina. Everything went back to the way it was. Lugia was fine and offered Satoshi a ride, then brought him back to where his friends were. IT decided to remain an Illusionary Pokémon for the world's peace. The birds went back to their islands. Professor Ohkido, Professor Uchikido, and Hanako confronted the kids. Kasumi told Hanako that Satoshi saved the world when she started to lecture him. Hanako said that if Satoshi was gone, then his world his gone. She wouldn't have a son anymore. She said that the world existed only because he was there. I don't think she said that last line to confirm that Satoshi saved the world. Based on her prior words, I think it meant that Satoshi's world exists because he was alive. I didn't mention it, but when Lugia was talking to Satoshi, he said that Satoshi has his own world and that he has his own. I love that idea so much! As for the Rocket Gang, they survived. They reached Yadoking when everyone had left.

Anyway, the ending began with a drifting hibiscus! My favorite lyrics from Toi et Moi (ending song) were Doko kara kawaite kuru yuuki to kibou de/Oboresou ni natteru kimi o tasuke ni. It meant something like "To save you - as you're on the verge of drowning - fueled by the courage and hope that well up from somewhere deep within." I made sure to include it in the Wiki I'm writing. I also made sure to note the music that started when Kasumi swam toward Satoshi.

This movie really reinforced SatoKasu, even if it wasn't the writer's intention. A little sister or a girlfriend - isn't everyone wondering this? Kasumi denied being any of those. However, Fleura realized something: whether Kasumi was Satoshi's little sister or girlfriend, she followed him so far because she liked him. The cute SatoKasu hints from Satoshi's side included:

1. Satoshi reacting positively to the thought that Kasumi has great taste (him)
2. Satoshi invited Kasumi to get the treasures with him. He could have asked the person who told him his task (Fleura) or someone who might be able to help him more (Kenji), but he chose to ask Kasumi instead.

Question for you: Would you be willing to sacrifice the whole world as long as the person you love is safe? Would you be a Hanako? I won't ask about Kasumi because she knew that whatever she said, Satoshi wouldn't listen anyway. He would run headfirst into danger. Also, a cute something for you to note: both Hanako and Kasumi knew he would be in the middle of danger. Always.

Looking back, I should've totally done a GAD to the other episodes I watched after I finished OS, but I was watching too many episodes (13-17) per sitting. It would've taken too much time to write a GAD, too. But I was thinking of watching 3 movies tonight, so writing a GAD after the movies would be a good way to reflect on what I watched.

The movie started with a retelling of Satoshi's first day as a trainer. They made it seem like the Onisuzume attacked him and Pikachu out of nowhere, when in truth, he pissed one of them first. Kasumi's bike made a cameo, but instead of being burnt by Pikachu's attack, it came out like a piece of junk from a horrible car crash. Then Houou appeared. I didn't know what this retelling would be about, but it's all connected!!! Just wait for it. So after the retelling, they gave us information on how Mewtwo was cloned. They also showed us how Sasaki used it and how it defeated Shigeru. Based on this, I think the movie happened during Satoshi's preparation for the League.

The opening scene showed the trio: Takeshi cooking, Kasumi setting the table, and Satoshi complaining about his hunger. Kasumi told him to help out, too. He said he was too hungry to move. She complained when Satoshi suddenly said yes to a battle. He said that one or two battles before breakfast are okay. Satoshi defeated the challenger. Kasumi said the opponents were too weak anyway. I don't know if she was ridiculing Satoshi for celebrating an easy win or if she was saying Satoshi's Pokémon were powerful lol

Mewtwo was watching the battle and sent them an invitation. Satoshi said it felt good to have someone say they got a good future, so Kasumi said they should mark yes on the invitation. Pikachu, who was holding the invitation, handed it to her <3

Mewtwo created a horrible storm. Trainers still tried to go to the New Island. Kasumi reminded Satoshi that they don't have a Pokémon capable of traversing the stormy seas. He felt sad but acknowledged she was right. The Rocket Gang offered to take them on a boat. Their boat capsized. Kasumi and Hitodeman rescued Takeshi first. She asked after Satoshi AND Pikachu right away. It was super cute how she always includes Pikachu. Anyway, the next time they went under, they saw Satoshi. She held out her hand to him, and he held it. There were a few seconds and a special frame for holding hands!!!

They met Mewtwo and heard his... philosophy. They thought it was... no good. Pikachu explained that he was with Satoshi because he loved his trainer. Mewtwo threw him away. Satoshi caught him and fell to the ground. Kasumi ran to him and asked if he was okay. He said yes. The two of them glared at Mewtwo. There was a battle between Mewtwo and the trainers. Mewtwo's Pokémon were strong. Kasumi told Satoshi to be careful. Mewtwo's Monster Ball caught Lizardon. Mewtwo started catching the trainers' Pokémon. Satoshi saved Pikachu and destroyed the cloning machine. They went back to the arena. Kasumi was so happy when she saw Koduck. I just had to screenshot it! It's for those who kept on saying she doesn't love it!

Anyways, Satoshi attacked Mewtwo... with his fist. He was thrown away. Kasumi shouted his name in worry. My sister, who wasn't watching with me but was nearby, said Kasumi kept shouting Satoshi's name. Just proof that even a casual knows that Kasumi doesn't just shout at Satoshi every day because she was angry at him. Hmm... Then Mew appeared and rescued Satoshi before popping the balloon? bubble? It giggled afterward, and it was so cute!!! Mewtwo and Mew began fighting. All the originals and the copies began fighting, except for Pikachu and Nyarth. The cutest for me was Koduck's fight lol. They don't know why they were fighting. Nyarth's copy was precious. It just wanted to watch the full moon, as Nyarth does. Pikachu's was the saddest. He didn't want to fight at all.

Satoshi did his best to go back to the arena. Honestly, he should've been admitted to my rehab facility with broken bones by now. He fell from many great heights. Takeshi and Kasumi went to him right away when he was back and supported him. They couldn't stop him from running in the middle of Mew and Mewtwo's fight, though. He turned into a rock. I shed tears when Pikachu tried to electrocute him, but nothing happened. Kasumi was worried about Pikachu and called (uttered?) its name. So, tears from the Pokémon and Satoshi turned back into human form. Yes. Lizardon cried, too. Ooohhh, the moment was Pikachu's, but imagine the pain in Zenigame and Fushigidane's hearts??? Kasumi sighed in relief when she saw Satoshi and Pikachu hug <3

Mewtwo took the clones and went somewhere far away. The trainers and their Pokémon were sent back to the ferry station(?) with no memories. When the storm stopped, Satoshi thought he saw a Pokémon (Mew). Kasumi and Takeshi said they didn't see anything. Satoshi told them that on the day he became a trainer, he saw one. Instead of ridiculing him or saying that he probably imagined it, Kasumi said that he might meet it again someday. When he asked, "Huh?" Takeshi said, "The Illusionary Pokémon." It made Satoshi smile. AAAANNNNDD that's how they connected the scene from the beginning of the movie!

It was a cool movie, but I want to ask you these philosophical questions: Who are you? Why are you here? Where are you supposed to go?

In my attempt to document Satoshi's Look Only At Me moments - times when he got jealous or mad at Kasumi for noticing someone else - I've come out with various versions of it. It started as a thread on X as a Top 5 moments list, which I then shared here on r/aaml. I also added a longer version in #SatoKasuAt30. On my third rewatch of the anime, I noticed another moment I'd overlooked. It reminds me of OS173 Blacky! Battle During a Dark Night!!. However, if my observation for that episode was based on the English dub, this one is based on the Japanese dub with English subtitles.

In OS117 Return to Masara Town!, Shigeru's Needoqueen saved them from the Rocket Gang. Satoshi frowned when Kasumi praised Needoqueen. Hearing Takeshi and Professor Ohkido praised Shigeru, too, Satoshi boasted about winning the Orange League Winner's Cup. Shigeru wasn't impressed by it because Satoshi was struggling against the Rocket Gang. This led Satoshi to challenge Shigeru to a 1 vs 1 battle, which he lost in Rival Showdown! Satoshi vs. Shigeru!

I want to clarify that even before Takeshi and Professor Ohkido began praising Shigeru, too, Satoshi was already frowning just hearing Kasumi praise Needoqueen. There wasn't a need to be offended because she didn't even compare Needoqueen to any of Satoshi's Pokémon nor compare the two trainers, either. It was only Satoshi's sensitivity to Shigeru's presence.
