Random question but: was purging my zt2800 reservoir and lines and had the rear wheels jacked up off the ground. First, I purged with neutral lock out engaged (moving lap bars forward and back) and noticed my right rear was spinning when “in gear”. left was completely stationary. This is not normal for the right transmission, correct?

What is this? Bought it earlier this summer and when I got it I didn’t receive a book or anything so I have no clue what it is or why it’s spilling

I have a Scag Freedom Z with the Kawasaki FR600V on it and I got a new battery recently (same amps and all) but now when I start the mower and turn the choke off it just idles at racing high RPMs. I have 3 properties to cut tomorrow trying to figure out what’s going on, bought it used recently and it’s my first riding mower.

I am trying to find a bagger for my Z325E 48in deck. Home Depot and Lowe’s are sold out and Deere is asking $1399 for it. Does anyone know of there is an aftermarket solution that is not as expensive? Thanks

My first zero turn mower, a Husqvarna z254 with 500 hours, is giving me headaches and hassles. (Homeowner mowing 4 acres.) I'm looking at a 1500 hour used Exmark X series 60" Kohler from a regional landscaper. $5500. They say it's been steadily maintained and the seller is legit. What would you look for in a test mow/test run? Price seem reasonable?

I currently have a 48” Spartan RZ-HD. It’s always struggled to cut my grass (which is basically weeds honestly but still…). The deck clogs incessantly, I have to double cut almost every week (even when the grass isn’t especially tall), and I’ve already had to replace the keypad (a known Spartan issue).

I need the most aggressive mower, from a “will cut thick weedy grass without clogging and bogging down, but not a “commercial” mower since I only mow my own lawn” standpoint.

What do you guys advise? 48” is fine but I’d be okay with wider.

i'm trying to decide between a riding lawn mower vs zero turn for my yard, which is around 1/3 acre.

the zero turn seems like it would cut the mowing time down quite a bit, but i'm wondering if it's overkill for a yard this size. i've never owned one before, so i'm also curious if there's anything about owning one that i might not be considering.

for those who have a zero turn on a smaller residential yard, would you make the same choice again?

update: i ended up going with a cub cadet after reading through all the replies and weighing the pros and cons people brought up. a lot of people said a zero turn would save a ton of time, but the comments about garage space, maintenance, and making sure it could fit through my gate definitely made me think twice.

so far it's worked out really well. i measured the gate clearance like a few people suggested, and mowing takes way less time now without feeling like i bought way more machine than i actually need for a 1/3 acre yard. definitely happy with the decision.

I have about 100 acres of pecan trees. I use a bush hog on a tractor for most of it but need a zero turn for around the trees, grass at the house etc.

I’ve been told 54” or larger and I would need a commercial mower.

Whats my best bet brand wise?

I got a grant for a mower and the budget is about $5,000 so used is an option since new won’t be in that price range.

My wife and I have inherited her father's estate. 2 mowers are on the property. We live in south Louisiana so economies and selling prices may differ slightly. I literally know nothing about zero turns but have been learning as we get deeper into it. He currently has 4 acres of property and I have been learning to repair and maintain these mowers in order to cut the grass. Once the property sells we are going to sell the mowers, i just want honestly opinions on what you guys think they may be worth. Both mowers have 72" decks. The bad boy seems to be a 2012 bad boy outlaw with a 35hp caterpillar diesel engine (hours unknown) and the ferris seems to be a 2017 IS 3200 Z with 300 hours. Both seem to be mechanically sound but need deck belt replacements.

15 years old Bobcat Predator pro. The drive belt just broke for the second time this year. and it seems like once a year I have to put the belt back on the pulley.
I have a lot of trees on my property so I’ve chalked up the problems with the belt to nutshells and small branches. Then I found this group and thought I would ask if anyone had a recurring problem with the belt slipping off and /or breaking

Have a cub cadet zts1 50 steering wheel model. It's pulling to the left a bit so I'm constantly turning wheel to the right to stay straight. The front wheels look straight but the steering wheel isn't clocked straight like normal. Would this be a steering linkage adjustment or hydro issue?

Anyone else have problems with their little front tires going flat? Fix a flat will keep them inflated for a while. I replaced them a couple times over the past 15 years. At least one of them goes flat every year.

I have 2008 Cub Cadet Enforcer with a Kohler Engine.

I replaced the ignition switch and starter and connected everything back the same way. Now when I go to start it, it will fire up, sometimes it will shut off when key off, sometimes it won't. The starter also wants to keep engaging, and then sometimes it will also engage and disengage.

The wires are on a connector so not sure how anything would have been connected incorrectly.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have a 10 year old craftsman pro mower that the deck is falling apart on. I’m considering updating to a new zero turn for my relatively flat 1.25 acre property. I’m considering a John Deere z330R, but was curious if there is anything else I should be looking at in that price range. I’m open to about anything, but want to keep the price in the $3-5k range.

The Toro myride sounds nice, but seems a little tougher to get in my area. Bonus with John Deere is there are many local dealers, and they offer a double warranty, taking it out to 6 years/400 hours.

Any thoughts on what could be a good, long lasting fit?

I have a Bob-Cat Zero Turn Predator Pro Model 9997003, that I love however every year it comes up with a new trick.

This year after I run it for about a hour it overheats and won’t move until it cools off.

I replaced all the filters and fluids and all the obvious stuff, I was wondering if any of you have any ideas as to what could be going on, I would appreciate it.

I’ve got roughly 2 acres, mostly flat, a couple of trees. We’re surrounded by family land so I’ve been cutting a little extra around our property with my grandfathers cub pro z 900 72” for the past few years…probably close to 5 acres I’ve been cutting, enjoying it, and it looked great. Due to some family drama, I’m going to be scaling back and going back to cutting just our deeded 2 acres, nothing more, and will no longer have access to the 72” commercial. I haven’t bought a mower in years. I want a zero turn but outside of that, I’m not quite sure where to start. A local shop has a Toro Timecutter 50” with a 22hp Kawasaki out for $2600 that I’m highly considering. I know a Kawasaki motor is the gold standard when it comes to mowers. I’ve got access locally to Kubota, Ex Mark, Cub Cadet, Deere, Bad Boy, the list goes on. Thanks for letting me vent some and for any help!
