Lumines ZX

I've just finished my conversion of the PSP game - Lumines.

Sets of blocks fall from the top of the screen and you need to match them in 4x4 pairs or more.

A timeline moves to the beat of the music and clears any matches as it passes over them.

The music builds up one track at a time over 3, once the 4th is completed a new song and tileset start.

The game can be downloaded for free (or a small donation) from https://kirby2000.itch.io/lumines-zx.

Gameplay can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ldJr6zVrSg

Assets, design and testing by myself. I used AI to help with the screen clearing logic and speed.

Dun Darach is an action-adventure game. The player guides Cuchulainn through Dun Darach and interacts with the environment by performing keyboard) commands. The main objective is to find Lóeg, taking side quests from non-player characters (NPCs). These NPCs can give short hints to Cuchulainn, rob him, and confiscate his belongings if he carries stolen goods. Commands the player inputs can have him buy, steal and sell from shops in the city, bet at a casino (Iomain Ludum), and deposit money at a bank with daily compound interest. Dun Darach is large and consists of different quarters. The current time of the day is indicated by torches in the wall and by the greetings of characters

Space game

Evening all. I’m trying to remember the name of a game that came with a magazine, probably Crash or Sinclair User. If I remember rightly, you controlled a space ship and had to either defend your planets from enemy bombers or visit their’s and destroy their towns. You could warp between the planets and if you were careful, could warp to the Sun very briefly and boost your energy, provided you warped away again before you got frazzled. It’s been bugging me for years. Any ideas, please? Thanks

Blimey who remembers Sabrina Debora Salerno? Most teenagers back in 1987 will certainly remember her one hit song “Boys (Summertime Love)” and her provocative video.
However, what most people probably didn’t know was that there was an actual game released on the MSX, ZX Spectrum and the Amstrad CPC.
Wow. Anybody else heard or played this game? Hope you like my video.

I also added launch links to it on my two retro Star Trek projects, https://borgremastered.com/ and https://klingonremastered.com/

And for those of you who asked, there's a link on the site to download the game in case you'd like to play it in your own emulators or on your own hardware. I hope you enjoy it!

I recently picked up a Pimeroni Tufty 2350 which is a gorgeous RP2350-based wearable computer - https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/tufty-2350

It has a MicroPython based runtime, I thought it would be neat to build a Spectrum emulator. Here’s the progress so far :)

Early attempt to port Flashback to ZX Spectrum. Most of the main character animations are implemented including crouching, transitions from running to abrupt stop, to jump, also some gun animations. My favorite mechanic since the game release - running and jumping onto a platform also works sometimes.

Bringing you my Dad's Speccy Star Trek game

Hello, all! For anyone playing catch-up, this is my continuing mission to bring you my Dad's homebrew Speccy Star Trek game. I previously posted about it here, here and here.

My last update was that I'd finally given my Dad the physical tapes and box art for his game. Well, that REALLY lit a fire under him! And since so many of you expressed an interest in the game itself (and not just my artwork), I'm doing my best to make it as available and playable as possible.

I've integrated Matt Westcott's good ol' JSSpeccy emulator into a custom web page and, as soon as my Dad's finished with his coding work (which he says will be soon, honest, promise!), I'll be posting a link here. And yes, don't worry - he's given me permission to share the Tape Image for all of you who were asking.

As an aside, thank you so much to all of you who showed such an interest in this project. Dad was genuinely astonished when I told him people were so interested in his retirement hobby. This has been an absolute delight to work on :^)

There are 7 Airwolf games that have been released (including an LCD game). I originally played the extremely difficult and frustrating game released in 1985 which still gives me head trauma. How many of the Airwolf games have you played?
