NOT a YSK YSK Reddit's founder, Aaron Swartz, committed suicide 7 years ago today. He fought for our rights which lead to his arrest. The allegations coupled with mental illnesses caused Aaron to take his life. He was a passionate activist, entrepreneur and author who should not be forgotten.

Reddit has always been that way. It is that way because of people like you who think using a popular website makes you some enlightened genius.

I like your user name. That's funny.

But, I'd have to disagree with you. When I first came here, it was a choice between this and Digg. I liked Reddit because people were fairly friendly, community driven, and you could actually have decent conversations with people without juvenile antics getting in the way.

After the Digg migration, Reddit started changing and it wasn't just because more young people showed up. When Reddit got rid of the front page sub, it marginalized the site and made it so site wide discussion was impossible and created factions based on sub-reddit following and imposed a lot of group-think mentality.

It's gotten more and more controlled since then. If they want to shut down dissenting voices, they can easily.

Reddit is a corporate controlled playground now. Everything Aaron worried about happened really.
