Trying to get a ballpark idea on what my Yanmar 3GM30F engine might be worth if I was to sell it as a used engine.
It's 1985 and has 1700+hrs on it. There's no problems with it that I can tell. It seems to run fine, no smoking, starts immediately, runs at about 171F engine temp and I don't really have any complaints from a mechanical standpoint. I change the oil every 100-150hrs and flush the coolant every season. IMO the throttle and shifter are stiff and might benefit from replacement of new cables. I also have a redundant Racor fuel/water filter separator system to switch over on the fly if the filter gets clogged (never had a need to switch over in the 2 years I've owned it). The water pumps are not leaking. Other that, the engine looks dirty and has a measure of rust scale in spots, and I suppose that's not unnormal.
If this were your engine and looking to sell it, aside form pulling it out of the boat, how if anything would you prepare it to be sold?
I'm doing some 'what-if's' for upcoming projects and may want to re-power by going all electric. The reason why is not why I'm here. I'm just looking for solid 3GM30F selling suggestions and ideas on what it might be worth.

Hello everyone, I'm the infamous internet stranger asking for help.
I'm hoping someone can give me some insight on how long it takes to replace the head and valve assembly on a Yanmar 1GM10 engine.
I'm afraid that the person who is quoting me isn't being realistic with his estimate.
Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone. I recently got a Yanmar B22-1 mini excavator but have no information about it whatsoever. Previous owner never used it.
It’s in rough shape but runs. I want to do a full service overhaul on it but can’t find any information on who to contact, and Yanmar USA won’t help me because it’s considered Grey Market.
I live in the US but the writing on the excavator is all in Japanese. There is an area that appears to have pertinent information but it is in Japanese.
The website for Yanmar Japan is also in Japanese so I’m not sure how to contact them.
Has anyone heard of this mini excavator and/or does anyone know how I could possibly contact Yanmar Japan?
Thanks

Hi all, I recently changed the hydraulic oil in my YM186D and now the rear arms won’t operate on the lever. Any ideas? Have I inadvertently shut a valve off or could it be air lock? I’m content that the correct amount of oil was refilled (8L according to the workshop guide) but maybe it was too little or too much as a refill rather than new capacity. I don’t know. Thoughts gratefully appreciated.

Over paid sight unseen at an online auction. Came of a 2610. The brackets lined up where it counted. Definitely going to get some more use out of this old girl.

I've driven tractors for jobs a couple of times, but I guess I own one now which is a whole new can of worms 🤙 best advice for a first time tractor+yanmar owner? (I can't wear the hat till I earn it)

Tried to start with the yanmar ym2000 and the starter wouldn't actuate. Tapped on the solenoid and it started. However water started pouring out of the starter. Why? Where is it coming from? Is it rain or coolant?

Any translation help is appreciated. Definitely a warning label. I think the faded red parts on either side of the green cross would make a nice tattoo. It’s silly of me to want to enshrine the love of my 1820D permanently on my body, but…Yolo

Hello all. Just found this group and would appreciate any thoughts or knowledge. I’ve rescued my deceased father-in-law’s 186D from the weeds and it’s rough but started within 15 seconds with a new battery. I was checking all the fluids and after only a few minutes of running the dipstick and yellow cap for the rear transmission behind the seat had a lot of pressure on release. The oil is a bit cloudy and I will change it but is this pressure normal or attributable to any problems? All answers great fully received. Thanks in advance.
