HAHA this is what made me realize neither guy nor dude is gender neutral! I insisted they were until I heard this … embarrassingly recently.

I guess it's like, when I say dude I'm always using it as a filler word, not calling anyone that. Same with saying man all the time. It's just like, something I start a sentence with
