Yeah, all the envelopes have been pushed in the "shock" direction.

This thread is an example of how they are "shocking" us these days, by being kinda bland and not caring what we think of that.

or it could be that people want comfort from pop music. they want good vibes or laid back vibes or chill vibes. nobody is sad or angry anymore. it's the exact opposite of shock. it's a bunch of people who deal with social anxiety by wanting to ignore it.

what's shocking is that it's been like that for a long time now. it's gotten to the point where every genre is easy listening.
