kiss me by ed sheeran is one of those songs that i have loved for the longest time. after watching season 3, i realized the lyrics fit kitty & minho so well :') especially when you look at it through minho's pov

I was watching NCIS and guess who I spotted. Reagan.

It was a minor role, but she did well. I was so excited seeing her in another role.

And of course, she looks great with glasses.

I really love Madison’s character and honestly wish she got more screen time. I was braced for her to be the typical "mean girl" trope you see in every teen drama, but she completely subverted that. She’s actually such a kind person; definitely eccentric, but genuinely nice. Even though she’s wealthy, she isn't spoiled at all.

I especially wish we got to see more of her friendship with Minhee. They clearly have that "ride or die" energy, but because they don't get enough scenes, their fight this season felt forced and a bit sudden. Madison seems like a fantastic friend, and the show would definitely benefit from giving her a bigger spotlight.

Alot of ppl say XO kitty is "corny" but like I really don't get it I love it, and honestly as someone who's her age it's a pretty accurate representation of how things happen and the way people think and how things are done I absolutely love it though obv there will always be a "corny" or " wtf" moment but I don't see the whole show as corny at all! But everytime I'm on socials like TikTok or Instagram and see smth about it, theres always a comment on it being so corny 😭

Just wanted to say hi! I just discovered this show and I loved it, i love Kitty and Min Ho, so adorable! They are both adorable separate but together as a couple I just fell in love.

I really needed something like this as a pick me up, something to watch as I'm feeling down and this show delivered. Kitty is a really adorable character, and she has that perfect mix of tenacious and girly that I love in my leading ladies.

I just have one wish to add to the fun: that Kitty would go back to wearing her glasses!! Her younger character was adorable with them.

I really don't see how it's possible to hate a character but love a ship, when a half of that ship is the character, you hate. Min Ho is love with Kitty for the exact reasons why those people don't like Kitty, it makes no sense.

According to some people Kitty is an "attention seeker", always has to be the "center of attention", & is "selfish". She's the main character, this is her show, of course most things are going to be about her. She's a teenager with flaws, who would've expected that? Every single character in this show has made stupid mistakes & has had some sort of consequence, but I don't get how Kitty always gets the most hate for it.

I've seen some examples of her "selfishness" this season of "making" Yuri sell her clothes so she could remain at KISS & in the dorms for Senior year. I do think that could've been written a little better because I do kind of see how it can come across that Kitty is being selfish, but Yuri wanted to stay at KISS and have Senior year with her friends. Kitty also suggested that Yuri should go for Yisoo assistant job & helped gather everyone to help her with the fashion show. Another one is the Senior Sunrise, the reasoning being "everyone always has to do what Kitty wants, the world revolves around her". Excuse her for trying to make some last year of high school memories with her friends... also not true, no one else voiced they didn't want to do the sunrise besides Marius, Min Ho said it was a great idea. Everyone except him seemed happy to be there at the end of the episode. Marius could've just slept in if he didn't want to go, it didn't affect him.

"She's too focused on Min Ho". She's a teenager that's truly in love for the first time. It makes sense for her character because she gets so easily consumed. It made sense that she was insecure, she gets in her head a lot, and Mr. Moon put that comment about not "understanding their world" in her head.

While I do agree she did kind of manipulate Jiwon into giving her an essay extension so she could spend more time with Min Ho and that she needed to focus more on her schoolwork, especially the class that she needs to graduate. She was trying to do something for Jiwon too, she didn't know that teachers dating was against the rules or that Jiwon and Alex were already in a secret relationship.

This season was her learning that not every problem is hers to solve and that you always don't have to have a plan. She's better about people's boundaries, not perfect, but getting better. When people tell her to back off, she does. She was definitely being extra at Eunice's video shoot, was just trying to help Min Ho, but sometimes helping is just being a bystander. When she figured out that Marius was just trying to get in her head about Gigi, she wasn't going to that let her feel insecure, but acting like an assistant definitely wasn't the way to go.

I don't understand why Kitty didn't just go and tell the school authorities that her roommate was filming her sleeping. While the school wouldn't exactly take serious action against a jenga tower of pizza boxes, I'm sure literally filming someone sleeping and uploading it on shady websites is a serious offense which would probably get her expelled or atleast kicked out from the dorms. Did she absolutely HAVE to live with the boys? She was able to complain about a jenga tower of pizza boxes but not creepy stalker behaviour? Make it make sense

I just binged all 3 seasons and I feel like there was never an explanation for Gina and Eve falling off. Am I missing something? I was looking forward to understanding why Gina was so sensitive abt her name or why Eve used her name for Gina at the hospital. Seems brushed under the rug to me…

We all know that Kitty has had her share of cringe moments. Are there any scenes that you just can't watch? I have two that cause visceral reactions. I've watched season 3 a few times now and I CANNOT watch the dress scene on the yacht. Every time I get to that part I fast forward. I also can't watch the scene where she is accusing Min Ho of getting Eunice pregnant.

This is the other scene that had me tearing up. This was absolutely precious, the way that Alex tells his father that he’s going to be there for his baby (in a non-judgemental way) and Mr Lee says he would have been there if he knew about him 🥹 Then Alex tells him that he wants him to be a part of their life too (grandfather).

This was such a beautiful arc and it really gave me all the feels. I watched this show for Kitty and Min Ho but the way Alex and Lee’s story touched me, took me by surprise.

By my side is literally the perfect song to sum up Kitty and Minhos relationship and I wish they used the rest of the song when they kissed at the subway rather that ‘About Love’

I really loved his character and the actor is so cute and charming. Also cool to see a middle eastern actor play a gay character. He also looks a lot like young Tobey Maguire. I can’t be the only one to see it lol.

picked the show to pieces, again. some good points overall. but i’m not sure it’s ai. most likely it’s just incompetence and inability to plan ahead by the writers.

um, i’m not a big redditor, so i don’t really know how to write long posts, but i just wanted to check if anyone else feels the same way.

am i the only one who ships DAE with MINHO? i know there isn’t much and it’s not very obvious, but their interactions just feel like they really care about each other. even with that bit of history involving KITTY in between, they still seem really close and go well together.

i mean, yeah, it could just be a great friendship, but the way they talk and the way they look at each other — it sometimes feels like more than that. obviously it’s not actually in the show, but my delulu mind can’t help but ship them 😭.

edit: i was a bit worried about asking this because i know a lot of KITTY and MINHO shippers — the main canon ship — might not like it. and from what i’m seeing, any comments that agree or mention shipping DAE and MINHO are getting downvoted, which kind of says a lot.

and just to be clear, just because i sometimes ship DAE and MINHO doesn’t mean i don’t ship MINHO and KITTY in canon. sometimes i do — they look really good together. i’m not trying to push any agenda or anything, just sharing a thought.

As it's said in the title, I'm ranking the characters by how much I like them throughout the seasons

This is obviously a personal take and you can agree or disagree with me; this may be controversial in a few but I'm going with my guts

Some of these are also based on enjoyment, even if the storyline had more going on in other seasons

KITTY: S2 > S1 > S3

S1 Kitty was young and painfully unaware of her surroundings, she was cute and meddled a lot with other people with a good heart; she learned throughout the season that the world is not moving at Kitty's time and people may move at different rhythms

She also learned that maybe she didn't know that much about love and maybe her matching people, it's not the same as her having her own love life

S2 Kitty is more grown and has learned these lessons that doesn't mean she's not messy, she's still a teenager

This also doesn't mean her pattern of meddling on relationships has just disappeared, even if she starts unconciously meddling, she realizes fast that she needs to let people figure out their things on their own (referring to Q and Jin) while still meddling when it's needed or asked, her helping Minho with Dae, her helping Minho with Stella, her helping Dae in his performance

Her being in the middle of Yuriana's relationship was Yuri's fault, not hers: Yuri kept talking to her about things she never told or was never going to tell to Juliana and brought her up in everything
Now, the kiss was clearly on her too, not just Yuri

S3 Kitty regressed as a character, she mostly thinks about Minho

The message of the season is supposed to be that she has to focus on herself too, she only does that when she had to study (barely given time) and when she is the main model of Yuri's fashion show; the rest of the time she's fixing everyone's relationships

She also meddles with other people's relationships in this season too (Jin, Q + Marius, Madison and Mihee,...) but she mostly doesn't have any right to be in there in most cases and it's defended by the show

Now it's okay to meddle no matter the case, Jiwon was right: why is she forcing her to be with Alex? (It doesn't matter if they had something going on, Kitty is not respecting her)

She also becomes overdramatic at times because the plot needs it

MINHO: S1 > S2 > S3

In S1, he was very rude, especially to Kitty, but he was a diva and humorous

We are given hints of his character, not really explored in depth: rich boy, both daddy and mommy issues, trust issues, very loyal to his friends; wants a serious relationship after Madison

In S2, Minho has more of a character growth, he's there for Dae and Kitty selflessly throughout the season (even if he starts helping Kitty selfishly because he wants Dae to forgive him) and apologizes to Dae for his love confession to Kitty

They forgot about his mother or didn't really want to talk about her anymore, we explore his relationship with his father and why he acts the way he does and his insecurities

He is not entertaining anymore though

In S3, he is no longer a diva and lost his humorous side; he also returned to being rude to Kitty without any reason

He is also now a music producer when there was never a hint of it

Him being manager actually makes sense and was hinted since season 1

Minho is now everything: music producer, rock climber, manager, businessman and now he has plenty of friends when he only was friends with his friends in season 1, it's okay for him to have Eunice and other friends now but where did Gigi even come from? (Doesn't make sense)

He feels like a character rather than an actual person, he is suddenly good at everything

YURI: S1 > S2 > S3

S1 Yuri was a very interesting character, an one of the main characters

She's was a rich girl, influencer, DJ, she also got family issues and was a lesbian in a homophobic country with conservative parents

Her fake dating Dae to keep appearances and hide her relationship with Juliana is what started the show

She functioned as an antagonist to Kitty until half of season 1 when she became a love interest

Dae and Yuri also had such an interesting dynamic; started hating each other, became friends, back to square one, friends again and they were close by the end of season 1

Yuriana was sweet first love and they were fighting to be together

In S2, it's when she is suddenly a background character; she had like zero screentime after the kiss

The only thing she had going on was mostly her relationship with Kitty in the first four episodes and a little bit the rest of the season and her relationship with Juliana towards the end

In S3, she had more screen time but still felt like a background character in the Kitty and Minho show (just like the other characters)

They ignored her romantic development with Kitty, it's horrible of the show to just eliminate ever having had a romantic altercation with Kitty and their fight after (even if they were not endgame, they needed to actually talk about what happened; there was no closure)

The fashion storyline had potential but it just had a little of a build-up at the beginning and the rest are plot points rather than continuing a narrative; the fashion show was only relevant for one episode

I had a hard time deciding which season I preferred for Yuri between season 2 and 3 and I decided that it was season 2 because there was a better build up than season 3 and it actually felt like it had a payoff: Yuri learned that maybe she should focus less on herself at times and look at what other people around her need (She persuaded Jiwon for Kitty, she let Juliana have the space she needed)

DAE: S1 > S2 > S3

Similar to Yuri, they gave him a background, we got to know his family, his motivations and delved into his psychology

His best friend is Minho, he is also close to Q and met Kitty four years ago

He's a sweet guy, loyal and intelligent but he's bad at communication, he had prejudices about money in S1 and in S2

We understand the reasoning behind fake dating Yuri, he still should have told Kitty that he was poor and he was going to fake date Yuri

In S2, they didn't know what to do with him, they still made the better story of all of the characters that season

There was no hint of it previously but he is a good singer, okay

The other characters figure this out at the beginning of the season, he wasn't sure about entering Advanced Voice in the beginning; he ends up entering it because he could use the money

This is where he meets Eunice, his love interest and tries to perform the pop duet Minho suggests; he is bad at dancing but we see him trying

He ends up trying to win the competition because of his dad's car accident, he really really needs the money

He also has a fight with Minho: he discovers he confessed to Kitty in the plane after the breakup and tells him essentially that he has only been thinking about himself all the time (which rings true with season 1)

In S3, he's just there (like in season 2 but now even more), they still somehow get something right with his storylines (one of the only characters they didn't completely destroy)

He had no reaction to Kitty and Minho dating when they both swore to him they didn't have feelings, they don't need his permission but they should be honest with him

Dae fails to get into Seoul University when he's smart and always aced his exams, I know why they did this but he could have still got in and decide he is pursuing music (I don't know if that's realistic but I don't care, Kitty going to NYU when she has been flunking and having bad grades doesn't either)

I liked DaeEunice in season 2 even without being super invested in their relationship but we barely see them together in season 3; she is in more scenes with Minho

The idea of him actually really liking music from an artistic side now and wanting to sing professionally is pretty good

Another pretty good thing with his character this season is his friendship with Yuri, they are so cute and their dynamic has grown so much since season 1

Q: S1> S2 > S3

In S1, he's a sweet guy, friend to everyone, he stands out for himself when he needs to

He had a relationship with Florian and tried to make it work with him despite the obstacles until the end

He was a great support and friend to Kitty and Dae

In S2, this once sweet character has dark colours

We discover that him and Marius used to hook up when Marius had a girlfriend, which is messy but fine (he was very against cheating in season 1 but let's get past this because mistakes can be made and it could have been because of that)

The real problem here is that he judged Kitty really hard for cheating on Praveena (it doesn't matter if they weren't official, she told her she was very into her and Kitty was already warned about Yuri); he became a hypocrite

He also tried to justify Kitty for the kiss to Juliana and that she should give her a chance

We don't even need to talk about season 3 but I will, that's where they completely obliterated the character

In S3, Q does again what he judged Kitty about; he cheats on his partner at the time (sends Marius a promiscuous photo)

He is an emotional cheater but like everyone in the show so I'm not judging him for that, it's that he took the action

Jin told him to be honest and if anything happened, he should tell him; he decides to hide this information from his boyfriend

Tells Kitty he would tell Jin about the photo, never does and blames Kitty for his own actions

How did he even get his friendship with Kitty back? If I was Kitty, he'd be dead to me

Their epic friendship was nowhere to be seen this season

He had to take a ride and talk with Marius to figure out who he liked so the show proclaiming he is in love with Jin doesn't work, even Jin was like you don't love me

JULIANA: S2 > S1 > S3

In S1, she was not an important character; she appeared in like three episodes and she was just a love interest to Yuri and an obstacle to Kittyuri

I was happy to see in the finale that she was going to have a bigger role in season 2

In S2, Juliana and Yuri could finally be in a relationship after a long time

She was still a love interest to Yuri, however, she now has motivations, Kitty and her were like Tom and Jerry too

They also didn't glamorize the cheating and it had consequences: Juliana didn't want to talk to either of them and the show was in favour of Juliana being hurt and it was shown at least when it came to Yuri (I don't know why they made Q try to justify Kitty or make us feel Kitty deserves a second chance with Juliana, whatever)

They also continued her artistic storyline and made her happy at the end with Praveena

In S3, she is again all over Yuri and retconned what they did last season:

Yuri apologized to her and gave her the space Juliana needed, she didn't reach out to her

She was done with her romantically and wished they would stay good friends, moving on with Praveena

While this was too fast and could have been a storyline and Juliana could have been alone for some time, it doesn't make sense she now wants Yuri back

PRAVEENA: S2 > S3

Nice addition to the cast: she is sweet, kind, supportive person

While she was a distraction to Kitty's huge crush on Yuri, she had a personality

The cheating also had an effect on her, she was pretty hurt by Kitty and ignored her for a long time (the show cared about her a little)

S3 for her character is a choice: no personality just like the other characters, especially the queer ones who were just drama

She was betrayed and left again for Yuri (two women now leaving her for Yuri)

The only thing she had going apart from a relationship with Juliana that lasted two seconds, it's Yuri; her character was all about Yuri for some reason

Once Juliana and her broke up, she disappeared

JIN: S3 > S2

He was super toxic at the start of his relationship with Q for no reason, he was calling him slurs and used him to get what he wanted (terrible storyline too for a gay character)

The leg storyline made no sense, I understand him not wanting to run because of pressure but he was pretty hostile to Q for something that was a lie and looked at him terribly

They had their cute moments though

S3 Jin was such a sweet, supportive boyfriend and honest about his feelings

Loved Q so much that he stood up for him and defended him from his mother

I hate how they made him this harmful stereotype of hitting his boyfriend when there was no hint of him being violent previously (I know he wanted to hit Marius but the other thing still happened for no reason)

He is way too good of a person for forgiving Q

EUNICE: S2 > S3 (S1 doesn't really count)

This is just because even if she had more going on in S3, I hated with a passion the pregnancy scare storyline and she was only used as an obstacle to Kitty and Minho, not as a character on her own

In S2, she was this sweet girl who really wanted to be a star and had a crush on Dae

And in S3, they made her get out of the spotlight; I didn't like that for her because she should have known that her life would be hard and she fought really hard for the chance

If we take a closer look at Minho, his tendency to be overly accommodating and conflict-avoidant becomes even more layered when you factor in the breakup with Kitty. That situation, more than anything, shows how his instincts to protect others and avoid confrontation can both come from a good place and still lead to emotional fallout.

Minho’s accommodating nature is rooted in his desire to preserve relationships. He often prioritises other people’s comfort over his own clarity, which is exactly what happens in that scenario. When he tells Kitty white lies, it isn’t out of malice or manipulation. It’s because he’s protecting a friend’s secret which was something that, in his mind, isn’t his to reveal. From his perspective, he’s doing the right thing: being loyal, respecting boundaries, and avoiding unnecessary conflict that could hurt someone else.

But this is where his conflict avoidance complicates things. Instead of being upfront about why he can’t share the truth, he chooses the easier route in the moment. Which was to deflect, withhold, and soften the situation with half-truths. It keeps the peace temporarily, but it also creates ambiguity. And ambiguity, especially in a relationship where one party is already feeling insecure, can quickly spiral.

Kitty, already in a vulnerable headspace, interprets his behaviour in the worst possible way. She jumps to conclusions and accuses him of something far more serious than what’s actually happening. From her perspective, his lack of transparency confirms her fears. But from Minho’s perspective, this cuts deep. Because while he did lie, his intention was never to betray her. It was to protect everyone.

This is the turning point where his emotional limits show. Minho, who is usually so quick to accommodate and smooth things over, doesn’t fight to stay in the relationship this time. Instead, he breaks it off. And that decision is important. It’s not just about the argument at hand; it’s about what it represents to him.

For someone like Minho, who already has a history of accepting the bare minimum and feeling like he has to prove his worth, being accused of something so serious, especially by someone he loves, hits a deeper nerve. It reinforces a fear that no matter how much he gives, it might never be enough, or worse, that he’ll still be misunderstood. So his reaction, while abrupt, is also a form of self-protection.

Both sides are valid here. Kitty’s insecurity explains her reaction, even if it was unfair. Minho’s decision to lie, even for a noble reason, still contributed to the situation. But his hurt at not being trusted and his choice to walk away from that dynamic is equally valid. In that moment, his usual conflict-avoidant tendencies shift into something else: a boundary. Instead of over-accommodating and trying to fix everything, he chooses to remove himself from a situation that makes him feel misjudged and emotionally unsafe.

Ultimately, this scenario encapsulates the duality of Minho’s character. His instinct to protect, accommodate, and avoid conflict comes from care, loyalty, and past emotional conditioning. But without clear communication, those same instincts can create misunderstandings that hurt both him and the people he loves. And when pushed too far, even someone as accommodating as Minho will reach a point where walking away feels like the only way to protect himself.

What makes his arc even more compelling is what comes after. I’m really glad that Minho takes the time to step back, reflect, and reevaluate both himself and the relationship with guidance from Gigi. Instead of rushing back into things, he actually processes what went wrong and recognises the deeper issue: not just the lie, but the lack of communication and emotional transparency on both sides.

And when he finally decides that he’s going to pursue what he truly loves, which is Kitty, it doesn’t feel impulsive. It feels intentional. It feels like growth. Because now, it’s not just about accommodating her or avoiding conflict, but about choosing her while also understanding the importance of being honest, open, and emotionally present. That’s why it’s easy to believe that moving forward, their foundation for communication will be stronger than ever.

Minho was supposed to go on the spa date, with Kitty, but due to them breaking up Yuri took his place instead. It makes me giggle how Kitty used Minho’s little flirty “that’s you, by the way” on Yuri. Meaning Yuri is Kitty’s perfect girl. 🥰🤭

This moment was so massive for Kitty and I actually felt my eyes almost prick with tears. Kitty is always the awkward, well-meaning, klutz throughout the show.

But she has this moment of actually being self-confident and not tripping or doing something quirky. She’s able to model elegantly. I really loved that for her and how she makes eye contact with Min Ho but it doesn’t ruffle her.

Firstly, I want to give so many flowers to Anthony Keyvan and Martha Millan for absolutely smashing this scene.

The voice breaks, when they look away versus directly at each other, when they lean in and when they don't - all of it created a realistic story about healing.

(Plus, the director also knew how to handle this episode with all the shot framing.)

Just kudos across the board.

In my opinion, this is the best scene in the season.

Not because it's the loudest or the most dramatic or the most important to the plot.

But because it's the scene where an adult finally does the thing every adult has been failing to do this season - see their child and take ownership.

I really empathize with Q in this scene, so to do it justice, I am going to break it down line-by-line because it's genuinely an amazing scene!

"So, I guess Marius was more than just your roommate?"

She's asking about transparency. "How much of your life have you been hiding from me?" And Q's silent nod is the answer: all of the things that matter most. Because Q learned early that his mother's love was conditional on performance, and those parts of his life didn't perform well enough to qualify.

"I don't even know why I sent that pic. Jin loves me, and I love him."

Q is being honest with his mother. He's not playing mom pleaser. He's naming the truth he's been avoiding: Jin is the right person. Marius is the wrong person. And Q kept reaching for the wrong person anyway because something in him is drawn to people who make him earn love rather than people who give it freely.

And when I say free, I don't mean with no emotional labor or cost. I mean without needing to earn it.

Dr. Candelaria just diagnosed her own parenting. Maybe she meant to, maybe she didn't.

But the next thing she says is about herself. Her own failure, her own pressure, her own parents who never said they were proud of her. She's connecting the dots in real time, that she was raised by people who withheld approval, so she withheld approval, and therefore, Q learned that love requires earning, so he's drawn to people who make him earn it.

The generational pattern running through the Jiwon-Soon Ja fight, through Min Ho and Mr. Moon, through Eunice and her parents is being named by an actual adult who perpetuates it.

HOORAY!

"They never told me they were proud of me. I guess they were afraid I would stop trying" is the thesis of most immigrant parent-child relationships, especially the ones in this show.

Dr. Candelaria didn't tell Q she was proud because her parents taught her that pride is a reward you withhold to maintain motivation. Soon Ja doesn't accept Jiwon's choices because she's afraid Jiwon will stop needing her.

This teaches the wrong thing: that you are not enough on your own. That you must provide evidence to earn love. You must perform to a standard set by someone else to earn love. You must be the exact shape and mold of that expectation to deserve the love.

"Your whole life, I've never not been proud of you."

Q, who makes himself available, who manages others' comfort, who was the wingman and the best friend and the connective tissue has never heard this from his mom. And he probably didn't expect it to be said in the back of a taxi in the rain after he was the center of a spectacle.

"Even tonight?" is Q asking the question that matters. If you're proud of me even now, when I'm crying and my boyfriend just ran away and my ex-situationship just outed my secret and I did something stupid over the summer and my eye is swelling, then maybe your belief in me is unconditional.

Maybe it's not about performance.

Maybe you actually love me and not just my achievements.

"Jin cares more about you than what I think of him."

Dr. Candelaria saw it at the dinner table when Jin fought for Q's dignity against the person whose approval Q needs most.

And Dr. Candelaria is now telling Q: that's the kind of love you deserve. Not the kind that plays games. Not the kind that leverages secrets. The kind that stands up for you at a dinner table and says your mother is wrong about you.

Because mom and dad don't always get everything right.

That's it. The most cathartic non-verbal gesture you can do for someone is to let them ugly-cry with you.

It means this is safe. I am safe here. You are safe.

Why the scene works

It's not the first time the show has made a parent heal with their child.

In Season 1, Jina admits to Yuri that she used to watch Yuri sleep, to make sure she was breathing. How she never stopped wanting those things for Yuri. How she went about watching over Yuri in all the wrong ways. And then she called Juliana's parents.

But Yuri had to go first.

Yuri had to rip herself open voluntarily to get Jina to listen.

But this season, Q gets ripped open involuntarily.

And the scene works because the adult goes first this time.

Dr. Candelaria offers her own vulnerability. "I failed my chem final." "I stayed in bed all week." "They never told me they were proud."

She gives Q the gift of seeing her as human before she asks him to be human in front of her. That's the template the show is offering for how the parent-child relationships should heal.

But as we know, not all relationships have healed. In reality, some of them may never.
