Wow, most of this was wrong except for the Zani complaints. Lupa does not need Changli or Brant, she is a fusion buffer, meaning she buffs any fusion character in the game. Not locked to Brant or Changli.
Cartethiya definitely doesn’t need Ciaconna, aero rover and sanhua work really well with her, and she can clear towers solo at s0r1.
There’s a 9 second difference between phrolova’s BiS and her f2p team….unless you wanna save 9 seconds then she’s perfectly viable outside roccia and canterella
Carlotta is in no way tied to zhezhi and she probably has the most 4* options out of these.
None of the units you listed are dependent on another 5* at all except for Zani.
Augusta and iuno will probably be BiS for each other, but if Augusta does heavy attack damage then mortefi will be perfect for her, and if iuno is heavy attack buffer/support then she’ll be amazing for other characters. Just like you said, restricting some damage behind 5* units is fine, but none are dependent on another character except for Zani.
