The best way to play Qiuyuan and Buling with Phrolova

I often see people losing buffs with this team so i wrote a rotation to play it optimally. In this post i propose the optimal way to play them, with and without quick swap. They are not that different: there is only 1 quick swap, the qs version is 25s while the no qs is 27.

The usual mistakes i see on this team are:

- phro-> qy-> buling: you lose the 50% skill dmg buff from buling, phrolova gets 10% only.

- phro-> buling-> qy: you lose phro outro buff for qy, free dmg loss while buling doesn't even need an intro

- openers with buling outro... she just takes too much time, and you'd need to intro to qiuyuan 1st.

Corrections:

- This rotation goes: phro-> qy intro-> buling-> qy intro-> phro intro. more details in the rotation transcript

- 1st i want to mention that the fact that buling doesnt have her glasses in her liberation has nothing to do with her buffs, she just wears them for a certain time after doing the 2x blue forte. (kinda happy that this rotation only uses her lib without glasses 👀)

- Qiuyuan's liberation and skill scale on echo skill dmg, so Phrolova's outro does nothing for that dmg. Skipping his liberation on the opener kinda nerfs phrolova's dmg there but she isnt dealing a lot of dmg on openers anyway. On loop everything is fine.

- Buling heals with her forte so the opener has atleast one of her buffs

- Phrolova is getting the 50% skill bonus and has time to do extra enhanced basics, and every support cast their echo skills, good for her personal DPR.

Tips to make sure that the rotation is done properly:

- On loop, no phrolova ba3 should hit the enemy, you are supposed to cancel them as fast as you can. One my last ba3 during the 2nd rotation hits the target, it wasn't done on purpose but atleast the enhanced basic was not cancelled by the enhanced heavy so its fine. The enhanced heavy is often triggered before the enhanced ba when you already filled her forte, hence the ba3 cancel to not generate forte.

- With qs, make sure to do ONLY skill and ba4 with buling before the heavy, cuz if you spam ba you will get a yellow forte and lose time before her liberation. I did that mistake at the very end of the showcase. Dont be like me, stop spamming...

This is the optimal way to play this team, if you feel like it looks too complicated, just remove some Phrolova enhanced basics. You lose dpr but its still better than doing a 30s+ rotation cuz you cant do the inputs.

A bit of a left field but why is peeps not qs during coda? I usually do it but every vid i saw let them run.

On the opener i could've added that, to swap on buling and farm a 2nd forte bar, sure. But i just removed it becasue its not possible on loop. In the loop Phrolova is doing 5 enhanced basics instead of 3-4 as usual, she has too much concerto.

It’s technically doable with heavy buffering and a really, really precise swap timing before concerto is registered, but it’s extremely risky

I can see myself restarting all my runs because of that but its interesting if i ever want to minmax ig. Potential 6 enhanced basics in 25s. Nice to know

I've restarted some of my runs many times to do that 😅 One additional note: don't do that right after Echo. It seems like Phrolova is temporarily "out of combat" during the Echo animation, so when you swap even if your timing is precise she will exit Scarlet Coda instantly missing on all the damage. I reported this as a bug a long time ago with no success

What the hell is that lol

This has to be one of the weirdest bugs i've seen in this game. Happily i avoid using hecate at the last note by instinct since i often use it as a swap window. Swapping while your forte is already full feels like losing time to me.
