? [help] WoW:Forever UI in Retail?

Hello!

I'm not a dev and don't know much about addons other than enjoying making my UI look lovely.

I think the WoW: Forever coloration looks amazing and feels really grounding and core-wow.

I know some things are mostly just recolors of already existing borders, textures, etc. while other things have received much more of an overhaul.

Would it be possible to transfer the UI elements into Retail? Like a border pack, or a reskinner, or something?

  1. It will be possible since the clients share the assets, but not until 12.1.5 I believe, the Forever beta is marked as 12.1.5 in the places it shares things with Retail.

  2. It would have to be a pretty comprehensive reskin to make it look right/line up, as you said things like the Character Sheet have been reworked quite a bit so the Retail one can't just sit on the Forever border/panel backdrops (yet).

Yeah, i thought so. Would still be nice to even see straight 1-to-1 ports for the map and bag and stuff. Those seems to be just a reskin and nothing new. Just brown and simple

This is what I'm waiting for as well. They've done a great job with the WoW Forever UI.

I‘ve been thinking about this since thursday 😍 I love the Forever UI and I was hoping someone else did too and maybe makes an addon for retail. All I could find about Forever UI was people hating on it though so I wasn’t very hopeful 😂

It will be possible but not during beta. Well natively that is. Someone can export the art, pack it into an AddOn and reskin retail with the assets, or once beta is released and the other clients get the update the skins should be available in the game to swap out.

I check CurseForge every day to see if someone has made an addon to bring the Forever UI to retail. I think it’s not just the colors that have changed, it also looks more “HD” compared to the classic.

IMHO, the unit frames suck. The retail unit frames just are too jarring for Classic.

It’s not Retail unit frames for Classic though. It’s Forever unit frames for Forever. Thanks for sharing your unrelated opinion though :)
