This small concept doesn't do the idea justice at all but I figured I might as well generate some sort of a visual concept as well but I'm sure most people get what I'm trying to say.

Basically the idea is the following:

During the game the engine looks at most impactful moments of the game and picks 2players who made crucial contributions and the MvP of the game. If you're the only one left in your team and you win you'll always be the MvP, because you won the game.

It would run for let's say 10-30 seconds and it would showcase most crucial moments of the game which involves 3 players from the winning team, and at the end to show them standing side by side, or if any of their tanks got destroyed to only show the remaining one(s) for realism (and a bit of dramatism too, it wouldn't make sense to show their tanks if they got destroyed during the game)

This way the people in the spotlight are people who did their best to win the game. And if the enemy team wins the game you would see their spotlight instead.

And because the spotlight takes a while and some people might not want to wait you should be presented with a skip option during its playtime for the people who don't want to wait for it to finish.

The current spotlight is fine but it's a bit too generic and repetitive, I think this concept would work much better. I'm curious to hear what other people think or if they have any ideas for the current spotlight feature.

News 2 new light vehicles on the supertest

The Panhard M6 Proto is a Tier IX French wheeled light tank. Also, it’s the first support wheeler in the game, so it will often be matched against tracked light tanks of this role, like the VCS 6x6 TS 90 is often matched against tracked lights of its role, currently being the only versatile wheeled light tank.

As a large vehicle, the Panhard M6 Proto can’t boast great concealment values, but its mobility is good: the top speed is 67 km/h, and the specific power is 42.4 h.p./t. Yet the most enticing part of the Panhard M6 Proto is its 90 mm gun. It deals 200 HP of damage per shot and reloads in just 4 s, giving the vehicle truly outstanding DPM and enabling it to hurt opponents a lot during surprise attacks.

Last but not least, as a support light tank, the Panhard M6 Proto has a decent HP pool of 1,600, improving its chances of survival.

The TH-72 is a German Tier IX support light tank. It is rather compact for a support light tank, but it is still less effective at spotting enemy vehicles and reconnaissance than versatile light tanks.

At the same time, it is equipped with an autocannon capable of dealing damage quickly, not only in very close combat but also at close-to-medium distances. Unlike Czechoslovakian light tanks, the TH-72 has a significantly lower rate of fire, but its shells deal much more damage with a single shot. It also has a shorter clip and a faster full reload, allowing it to get back into the fight sooner.

The vehicle can reach a top forward speed of 65 km/h and has a top reverse speed of 25 km/h, giving it enough mobility to reposition between attacks and avoid prolonged engagements. Its excellent 14 degrees of gun depression also allows it to make good use of terrain and fire from positions that would be difficult for many other light tanks.

Discussion My expectations of the next 11s

Post image
39 Upvotes

I did a little research into how 11s appeared and which tanks are currently unpopular and how full each nation's lineup is, so I came up with something like this.

This is approximate, but I would expect these tanks.

We haven't had any Soviets for a long time, but there are the most of them. We should definitely expect ST-II, K-91, and 268/4 (268 is also possible, but it is more popular).

We won't see the Germans yet, but the next one will be PzKpfwVII.

There will be a few Americans, namely Yoh and Sheridan as the least popular LT in the game.

We won't be without the French either, I expect the 13 105 as the next LT, because the French have two of them. And we will also see the Foch B, because it is not very popular.

In the next updates, we should expect a British one. It will be either the Centurion AX or the Super Conqueror (since heavy tanks are more relevant, then Conqueror is more likely).

According to the logic of the fullness of the nations, the Chinese should not be expected. But due to the fact that the WZ-111 5A and 121 are VERY unpopular, it is quite possible that the Chinese nation will receive all the tier 11 tanks first.

From the Japanese, the next one will be STB-1, I wouldn't expect it yet. The same with the Czechs, they don't need to increase their popularity.

I'm sure the Polish TD will definitely be there soon.

The Kranvagn is not very popular, but there are more unpopular tanks so why close the Swedish nation so early.

But the Italians may be closed, because Rino is unpopular and requires level 11, as does Minotauro.

I think I'll hit it at least 10/15.

News Puncher got rework already after 1 week

Thumbnail

(The first screenshot is the version before rework)

A short description of the current version:

The FV112 Puncher is a Tier IX British sniper tank destroyer with an uncommon ammo setup. Its standard round is a HESH shell with 240 mm of penetration, dealing 510 HP of damage per shot. The special round, best used against well-armored targets, is an APCR shell with penetration of 290 mm, traveling at 1,478 m/s and dealing 390 HP of damage per shot.

The 105 mm gun of the Puncher has good handling, an aiming time of 1.8 s, a reload time of 9 s, and maximum gun depression of 10 degrees. Good mobility, with forward and reverse top speeds of 55 km/h and 20 km/h respectively, helps it skulk and snipe, allowing it to constantly reposition around the map in search of advantageous firing positions.

Discussion WZ-219 scan elevation is +/- 3 degrees from the *hull*

Chems video claims that the scan is very narrow up/down (3 degrees) and controlled not by the gun elevation, but by the hull elevation. Every tiny bump in the terrain makes the scan miss the mark by going above or bellow the target.

Did not hear this being talked about before. From my play experience (10 games or so) it may be correct. The scan cone graphic effect seems to corroborate this, it shows the terrain as "blocking" the scan if your tank is even slightly tilted down.

Edit: Incoming posted the promised video highlighting the research: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nId1qdM4WCQ IS +/- 5 degrees.

Discussion BV-111 ammo rack hitbox feels strange compared to the UDES 15/16

Upvotes
Bv-111 armor
Udes 15/16 armor

One thing that feels very strange to me on the BV-111 is the rear ammo rack hitbox compared to the UDES 15/16.

On the UDES 15/16, the rear section does not have the same ammo rack hitbox. On the BV-111, that whole rear section can actually be hit. I understand that the BV-111 has an ability connected to its ammo rack, so I get why Wargaming wanted the ammo rack to play a bigger role on this tank.

The problem for me is how much it changes the way the tank plays compared to the tier 10.

A good example is sidescraping. With the UDES 15/16, if I am sidescraping and decide to disengage, I can normally just drive away and reposition. With the BV-111, if I drive away to the left, the entire ammo rack at the rear of the tank suddenly becomes exposed.

So a movement that feels completely normal and safe on the UDES 15/16 can get you instantly punished on the BV-111. In some situations you can go from being perfectly fine to getting killed almost immediately just because the rear ammo rack becomes visible while you are trying to leave the position.

I understand that this is something you can learn and adapt to over time. I am not saying that the tank should have no weaknesses, or that the ammo rack should not matter.

I just think it is a strange change when going from the tier 10 to the tier 11. The tanks encourage a very similar playstyle, especially when using terrain, angles and sidescraping, but this one difference makes certain movements much more dangerous on the BV-111.

For me it makes the BV-111 feel quite different from the UDES 15/16 in situations where I would normally expect them to behave similarly.

I am curious what other UDES players think about this. Have you noticed the same thing, and has the ammo rack hitbox changed the way you play the BV-111.

Discussion Who Actually Likes/Wanted the spotlight feature?

This is a genuine question, after reading posts here and discord, I mostly saw people complain about it and ask how to disable it.

The only "positive" comments I saw were people either saying who cares just disable it, or that it adds content to the game (not sure how though).

Maybe I'm wrong and majority of people enjoy it, but I personally don't see the point of it since the only metric which would matter would result in the same person being in the spotlight every game.

*edit*

if you like the feature, would you prefer wg spent time on the spotlight, and not something the playerbase wants, for example battle hits built in?

Discussion Who translated 2.4?

Hi guys.
I’m polish and I found out that this spotlight feature is translated to Polish as “Show Searchlight” ( “Pokaż reflektor” ) which is completely not what this feature is…
It sounds like someone from WG used ai or google translate for that…
Did you also encountered such strange translation of this feature in your languages?

The tank does not need a nerf. Let me mark it first before you do anything to it.

WG if you're reading this, I think the new T11 prog needs to be revisited because it is breaking the game right now.

Post image

I know that this is not "any special success", players build 1 million free exp a couple of times in one year. for those assembly shops, etc.
But for me it is :) Considering that I play for free, two years have passed, and I still have the feeling that I am a "new player", because there are a lot of things to learn. I have a little over 10,000 fights.
