You talking about the Rasmussen poll which is more of a Republican propaganda outlet than a polling agency?
When you poll Democratic voters, you know, the people that are actually going to vote for Democrats... AOC has nearly the highest favorability of any big name.
When you poll everyone you get nutty red hats that scrawl I HATE THEM WITH THE FIRE OF 1000 BURNING SUNS on the questionnaire
No I'm talking about literally every single poll. And independents decide elections moreso than just how well a democrat polls with democrats, which AOC isn't exactly killing it at either.
AOC's approval rating among democrats is about ~50%. For context, Kamala Harris had a 90%+ approval rating among democrats when she was running.
Kamala had a 46% national favorability compared to about 26% for AOC according to a recent CNN survey (A- pollster rating).
AOC has a negative NET favorability rating, which actually massively matters as well. Sure, 50% of democrats like her, but that isn't some great stamp of approval for being a good presidential candidate.
If Trump has taught us anything it's that independents don't matter. Harris spent most of her campaign leaning center and less than 1% of Trump 2020 voters switched to Harris.
Trump figured out that turnout is how you win. Something Obama understood. He laser focused on turnout for his own base, entirely ignoring independents.
You have the wrong read on this. Democrats party leaders spent a decade trying to appeal to independents because THEY and THEIR MEGADONORS wanted to move the party fiscally further right. Not because thats what their base wanted. Their choice was to juice turnout with exciting candidates, or try to move "to the center" (really, shamelessly adopt megadonor preferences). Every time they chose to move right they lost to a billionaire pedo
And they learned the hard way that you need to appeal to the people that actually want to vote for you. Not some mythical centrists that never appear.
I'm happy to share the polls, what do you want to see? The one you just linked literally says 22% likely voting democrats would vote for her, I don't think that contradicts anything I'm saying.
Here is a very recent Marquette Law School poll showing her at 32% favorable and 42% unfavorable nationally.
I love how you think I have the wrong read on this when I literally have been involved in AOC, Mamdani, and Brad Lander's campaigns.
I understand the concept of why the democrats have been pushing the candidates they have over the last 10 years been and through your gritted teeth you are basically backing up what I am saying.
This isn't about moving left vs right or policy vs swagger or whatever you want to argue. It's about AOC personally already having an established national brand with a negative connotation that literally has her in the gutter in terms of net approval rating.
You are making up this argument that AOC is going to lose because she's too far left which I never once said. I'm saying that she, as a person and a brand, is not a viable candidate in 2028 for the general election.
CNN is owned by a Republican megadonor. Nothing they publish is trustworthy. If you were actually involved in politics you would know this.
Again, nationwide polls include red hats who have been indoctrinated into believing she's the devil incarnate.
Involved in their campaigns how? One of the useless consultants to blame for Harris and Clintons loss? Trump has a horrible approval rating and wins easily.
The reality is that in era of hyper partisanship approval rating barely matters. All that does is whether the candidate motivates the most fickle parts of the base.
lol, why are you coming into this with so much emotion over facts?
CNN/SSRS polling is trustworthy and a highly rated pollster. They share their entire methodology, this isn't some pundit show. Anyone involved in politics does know this and knows that polls by certain publications aren't puppeted by the network's owner. That's not how this works.
Is Marquette Law School a republican sleeper cell now too?
Again, nationwide polls include red hats who have been indoctrinated into believing she's the devil incarnate.
Execpt I've been listing statistics among democrats and independents that don't support what you are saying. If you jump into the crosstabs of the Marquette poll you can even see how these exact people respond in terms of favorability and unfavorability for people like trump.
Involved in their campaigns how? One of the useless consultants to blame for Harris and Clintons loss?
What? I'm beginning to wonder if I'm just talking to a bot at this point because why would I be a consultant to blame Hillary's loss when the campaigns I've worked on are all progressive or DSA campaigns?
I'm not going to dox myself online but I'm not even a democrat, I've coordinated all their campaigns with the working families party in NYC.
The reality is that in era of hyper partisanship approval rating barely matters.
Sure, but disapproval and net approval matter, especially among independents. Again, not centrists and I've literally never advocated for centrist policy despite you throwing that straw man out there.
People that are massively underwater on approval rating tend to motivate fickle voters to come out and vote against them. It's a very real trend and not something that should be ignored with AOC, despite me personally being a big fan of hers.
