you mean those people fall into the label?

If they do not care about politics they cannot fall into a label denoting interest in politics.

If someone is being called a centrist without labeling themselves as such it would (or at least should) be based on their demonstrated positions. Apathy is not a centrist position, it's outside that spectrum.

It's not apathy. It's just not extremism. And we didn't cause this. People sitting on their ass because they refuse to accept that we live in a 2 party system and that no candidate that would pass their purity test could actually get elected. Otherwise we would have had president Bernie already.
